The rapper/actor got arrested for driving with expired insurance
Ice-T Busted!

While thug missus Lindsay Lohan was bizzy gettin’ her ass dragged off to jail in LA today, rapper turned actor Ice-T (née Tracy Marrow) was being arrested in NYC, NY for driving with expired auto insurance. Now that’s thug. Here are some deets about his bust earlier today:

Ice-T got stopped cold by the NYPD. The famed rapper was arrested in Manhattan early Tuesday for driving with expired auto insurance, police said. The hip-hop pioneer, who stars in “Law & Order: SVU,” was pulled over at the corner of W. 40th St. and 11th Ave. at 9 a.m. for not wearing a seatbelt, police said. When cops stopped Ice-T’s 2009 Cadillac sedan near the Lincoln Tunnel, they learned that his insurance had lapsed, police said. Ice-T immediately began arguing with the cop who pulled him over, according to police sources. “He got nasty right away, saying, ‘What the fuck, why are you guys picking on me?’” the police source said. An incredulous Ice-T kept asking, “Why are you guys stopping me for bullshit?” The cops found two insurance-related lapses and charged the rapper at the 10th Precinct in Chelsea, police said … The rapper, who also complained that the arrest made national news within minutes, said he was released from the precinct in under 30 minutes. He tweeted that he and his wife, Coco, were taking their dog to the vet when they were pulled over. His license was valid, according to a spokesman for New Jersey’s Department of Motor Vehicles.

HMMM, you’d think that a guy who plays a police officer on TV might understand that it might behoove one to be as cooperative with the police as possible should one ever get pulled over. I bet his incendiary comments had a big part in why he got arrested rather than let off with a warning. After the jump, read the colorful tweets posted by Ice-T and his wife Coco (née Nicole Austin) on their Twitter accounts about their ordeal today. Trust me, they are must read tweets …

The long arm of the law finally embraces L. Lo
Lindsay Lohan Surrenders To The Court, Goes Directly To Jail

Welp, it finally happened … Lindsay Lohan‘s day of reckoning has finally come and she has been sent directly to jail in order to pay for her long-outstanding crimes. Despite every bit of wrangling I’m sure she tried to finagle behind the scenes (which, I’m guessing, resulted in her losing ace attorney Robert Shapiro as her lawyer), Lindsay did show up in court today with previous attorney Shawn Chapman Holley (who, herself, tried to quit as Lindsay‘s lawyer) representing her so that she could surrender herself for sentencing. Here are a few photos of the somewhat contrite-looking Lohan in court earlier today mere moments before she was hauled off to jail to begin serving her 90 day jail sentence:

Lindsay Lohan … arrived in a Beverly Hills courtroom to turn herself in for jail. The “Mean Girls” star was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail earlier this month after a judge determined she violated her probation. She is likely to serve far less time due to jail overcrowding. Lohan arrived about 10 minutes late and was accompanied by attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her mother. The 24-year-old has been free on bail since missing a court hearing in May for a 2007 drug and alcohol case. She has been on probation since August 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges.

Altho it is likely that Lindsay will NOT serve out a full 90 days in jail, she will very likely be in the pokey for more than the 84 minutes she served the last time she was incarcerated. I understand she will prolly serve out about 20 days of her sentence in jail … roughly the same amount of time that Paris Hilton served when she was sentenced to jail a few years ago. Lindsay has already been booked, mugshotted and safely ensconced in her temporary new home at Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA. After the jump, check out her stunning new mugshot and read some deets about what her life will be like behind bars

Merci Pour Tout, Paris!

And so … by the time you are reading this, I will be winging my way back home to the US. I have a pit-stop in Detroit, MI so that I can drop off Sarah and then I will be making my way back home to LA later tonight:

To the people and city of Paris, Sarah and I would like to extend our deepest thanks for a wonderful visit. We may not have gotten to do everything there is to do in Paris but everything we did was amazingly fun and everyone we encountered was friendly, courteous and kind. Paris is honestly one my favorite cities in all the world and I can’t wait to return for another visit, hopefully sometime soon (and for much longer).

I’ll be back home in LA tonight and things will be back to normal by tomorrow. Au revoir, Paris … je t’aime avec tous ma coeur!

Tori Amos Enchants In Paris, France

Last night Sarah and I had the great pleasure of attending Tori Amos‘s sole Paris, France concert this year at L’Olympia. As some of you may know, last night’s Tori show was the reason my impromptu birthday trip to Paris even came to be … and it was worth the trip from LA to Paris just to see her perform:

Tori‘s set was full of some of our fave songs (China, Winter, Crucify) and the show — much to our pleasure — was a very nice, long set. After the jump, check out some of the photos I snapped last night and check out the full setlist from last night’s magical show …

La Troisième Jour

Yesterday was Sarah’s and my 3rd and last day here in beautiful Paris, France and we did our best to get the most out of the day. Despite the insane heat (and I mean, INSANE) we managed to cover a lot of ground around the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter:

After a lovely visit to the Louvre, we made our way across the Seine so that we could pay a visit to Notre Dame and the surrounding area. Believe me, the heat was very difficult to contend with but we managed to see as much as we could before we had to return to our hotel to prepare for the Tori Amos concert at L’Olympia last night. After the jump, check out a few more photos that will give you a taste of our day over all …

Another one bites the dust
Robert Shapiro Quits As Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer

Lindsay Lohan is due to surrender herself to the court today to begin serving her sentence of 90 days in jail (and then another 90 days in rehab) but she will be showing up to court today without her new lawyer, Robert Shaprio … because just a few hours ago, he met with Judge Marsha Revel to inform her that he QUIT as Lohan‘s attorney. As you may recall, one of the stipulations of Shapiro‘s agreement to be Lindsay‘s attorney was that she turn herself in to the court in order to serve out her sentence as ordered … my guess is that Lindsay still is not ready to pay for her crimes and, as a result, Shapiro in good conscious could no longer represent her as her attorney. Here are the deets of this latest development as reported by TMZ:

TMZ has learned Bob Shapiro informed the judge in Lindsay Lohan’s case, he’s no longer representing her. It is unclear who will represent Lindsay tomorrow when she will turn herself in. We do not know why Shapiro has left the case. He said publicly he would represent Lindsay only if she agreed to jail and followed his instructions. Interestingly, Shawn Chapman Holley never signed the substitution of attorney form last Friday to get out of the case. So Shawn may be on the hook.

Ugh … so now that Shapiro is out, it is very likely that Lindsay‘s previous attorney, Shawn Chapman Holleywho also quit (or at least, attempted to) as Lohan‘s attorney, is back in to represent her tomorrow. This really sounds to me like Lindsay is trying to do everything she can to keep from going to jail to pay for her crimes … and no lawyer wants to go before Judge Revel to deal with her bullshizz antics. This surely will not look good to the judge today … but everything seems right on track — Lindsay Lohan will still very likely go to jail later on today.
