That amazing pop group of the 90′s, Ace of Base, is back with a whole new song and a couple of new members. Original members Linn and Jenny Berggren are no longer in the group but they’ve been replaced with new female singers. In fact, Ace of Base wants to make it crystal clear that the new female singers are “much younger” than the Ace of Base guys. Here is the new face of Ace of Base — Jonas Joker Berggren, Ulf Buddha Ekberg and new members named simply Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson:

If you, like me, were obsessed with Ace of Base back in the 90′s then this promise of new music is welcome news. I can’t even tell you … I was so in love with their song The Sign that I played it on repeat for a week straight. I’m not even exaggerating, I played the CD single over and over and over all day, all night for about 7 days. Obsessed. At this point, we only get to hear a brief snippet of this new track but it deffo sounds like Ace of Base, even with the new “much younger” singers. Give it a listen, after the jump …

Yesterday we learned that Paris Hilton, while traveling in Europe, got busted at an airport in France with less than a gram of marijuana on her person but managed to evade any punishment due to the small amount of drugs found in her purse. Because Paris was allowed into the country unfettered, she got right down to the business of enjoying her holiday. Here are photos of Paris jet-skiing and sunbathing topless off the coast of Sardinia:

Paris Hilton isn’t letting a little thing like being questioned for pot possession get in the way of enjoying her European vacation. RadarOnline.com has all the photos of the heiress jet-skiing, and sunbathing topless and hanging with her friends on a yacht. Paris and pals were off the coast of the Italian island of Sardinia, and keeping her top on just didn’t seem to be a priority. Friday, the respected Agence France-Press reported that Hilton had been stopped, questioned and released by police at the airport in Corsica when they discovered less than a gram of marijuana in her possession. Paris later Tweeted that she wished people would stop “making up rumors” about her but she didn’t specifically say which part of the report she was disputing.

HMMM … don’t you find it strange that Paris Hilton has managed to stay out of trubs (and, hence, out of the headlines) for such a long time and then as soon as her Hollywood “It” Girl cohort Lindsay Lohan gets tons of press for her legal woes Paris starts showing up in the headlines? Now, I’m not saying that Paris would purposely get busted with weed just to score a little attention (tho, I also wouldn’t put it past her) but the timing does seem dubious, don’t you think? Meh. I wonder what other sort of controversy Paris will get herself in to in the next couple of days … after all, L. Lo is due to go to jail tomorrow. What do you suppose Paris will do to compete?

Last week we got to see a new promo photo from the upcoming big screen adaptation of the Marvel comic book Thor (due out in theaters next year) along with the news that both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger will be released in 3D. Today we get to check out another new promo photo from Thor which features a panoramic view of the Hall of Asgard, home of the mighty Norse Gods:

The Los Angeles Times debuted this new photo from Marvel Studios’ Thor featuring Chris Hemsworth in the title role kneeling before Odin (Anthony Hopkins) as Loki (Tom Hiddleston), left, Frigga (Rene Russo), Hogun (Tadanobu Asano) and Fandral (Josh Dallas) look on. Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on May 6, 2011, the Kenneth Branagh-directed fantasy action adventure also stars Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg and Colm Feore. Thor spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. I, for one, am loving all of these early sneak peeks of Thor but I fear that some folks who aren’t familiar with the comic might be turned off by the perceived cheesiness of these early photos. You must consider that Thor tells the tale of a god who becomes a superhero on Earth … his backstory must be regal and spectacular. The Hall of Asgard is where the Nordic gods live so, yeah, it’s gotta be opulent. Despite the fact that Asgard looks like it was decorated by Michael Jackson‘s decorator in this photo, I’m certain it will all work well on the big screen when the movie is released next year. At least, that’s what I’m counting on ;)

Britney Spears, who has announced the release of a 9th celebrity fragrance called Radiance, was spotted out and about on a little shopping spree with her newly clean cut beau Jason Trawick in Santa Monica, CA over the weekend. Brit was lookin’ nonplussed and Jason was lookin’, well, pretty damn good with his new hair-cut … behold:

Yes, it looks like biz as usual for Britwick. She looks kinda glum, he’s following her like a loyal pup. They are so in love, you can just feeeeeel it! Well, okay, maybe you can’t feel it so much from these photos but Britwick are still going strong and that is all that matters. I’m hoping we get to hear some news about her rumored new album sometime soon … it feels like AGES since her last album was released. Have mercy, Britney, hit us up with some new stuff soon!

The blog seems to be mostly about the photos that C. Love posts but there is some commentary for fans to read. The first post of this new blog was published on July 13 and since then Courtney has posted 20 pages of photos … of herself. I think it’s safe to say there’s a bit of a narcissistic bent to her blog but, then again, isn’t there a bit of a narcissistic bent to every blog in existence? Courtney Love never ceases to find ways of spewing the crap that is going on inside her head all over the internet. First it was My Space, then it was Facebook, then Twitter and now this new blog. I think it might be a bit interesting to watch what she ends up posting on this site … you never know when she’s going to suffer another online breakdown.

Sarah and I enjoyed a very full Sunday in Montmartre yesterday which involved a lot of sightseeing, a lot of eating and a LOT of walking. We made our way to the area around the Moulin Rouge and just took in the sights on our way to the Montmartre Cemetary … snapping fun pics along the way:

TMZ is reporting that tensions are rising between MTV and the unruly and money-hungry cast of their hit reality TV show Jersey Shore. As you may recall, negotiations to get the cast to return for season 2 of the show got a bit hairy leading up the deadline for the cast to sign on for another season of the show … but at the last minute, MTV played hardball and got the cast to return under the terms set by the network. Now, the cast is required to film more footage for the series but they are banding together and refusing to cooperate with the network unless they all get more money. Season 2 of the series is already in the can and ready to roll at the end of this month, but will this contract dispute put season 3 at risk? God, I hope so. Read on …

The cast of “Jersey Shore” is so dissatisfied over their contract situation that they refused to shoot scenes for the upcoming third season until they get a better deal … this according to sources connected with the show. The cast was supposed to begin shooting “at home” scenes today for season three, but we’re told JWoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny — who are spread out between New York and Rhode Island — told the crews they weren’t shooting without new contracts. The Situation and Snooki are supposed to shoot tomorrow, and we’re told Snooki plans to do the same. No word yet on The Situation, but as we first reported … he’s having contract issues of his own. Sources close to the show tell TMZ the cast feels they can make more money doing appearances for two months, rather than filming the show. A rep for MTV had no comment.

At this point, I kinda feels like MTV really does have to pay the cast more money if they want them to return for a 3rd season. The cast has scored the cover of an as-yet-published issue of Rolling Stone magazine and individual castmembers like Mike The Situation Sorrentino and Jenni JWoww Farley have nabbed their own product and endorsement deals. They are still in big demand and MTV will have to pay up if they want to keep them. That being said, I wonder how long all the attention that the cast is getting with last if MTV decides to 86 them all and feature a new cast of self-described guidos and guidettes. These sorts of negotiations can get really tricky … but, in the end, MTV has the upper hand. If they want to keep the original cast (or any of them individually) they’ll prolly have to pay more … otherwise, they can just hire new kids on the cheap. The Jersey Shore cast will either have to play nice with MTV or venture out on their own … which I don’t think will take any of them very far. We shall see. I personally couldn’t care less either way, they can stay or they can go.

Yesterday we got to see a few exciting photos from the Chicaco, IL set of Transformers 3 and today we get to see one more photo that was snapped on the explosive new set. Splashed all over some of the walls in the fictional world of Transformers 3 are posters of Autobot leader Optimus Prime in his very own Obama Hope poster … check it out:

LOL! I love this! Those of you who have seen Iron Man 2 may also recall that Iron Man got his own Obama Hope poster in that movie as well. It’s clear that the image created by street artist Shepard Fairey has already become a icon of pop culture. The Obama Hope poster will live on forever as a symbol of Barack Obama‘s first presidential campaign, there’s no question, but homage posters like this prolly won’t last much longer. As much as I love this Optimus Hope poster right now, I’m sure it’ll feel dated to even me by the time the film comes out next year.

On Saturday we saw photos of lovebirds Jude Law and Sienna Miller kissing up a storm on a beach in Otranto, Italy and today we get to see photos of the JuSie ones acting a bit more domestic. The couple are still vacationing in Italy but were snapped doing a bit of grocery shopping in Otranto yesterday afternoon:

It appears that the couple loaded up on enough supplies so that they would be well stocked for quite some time … or it’s possible that JuSie are planning a big party for friends. Whatever the case may be, it’s nice to see that things are still going very strong between these two.
