Earlier this week we got to see the first commercial for Madonna‘s new juniors clothing line called Material Girl and today we get to see a video interview of her talking about the line. She first discusses her interaction with her daughter Lourdes Maria (who is also part of the Material Girl promo campaign) in terms of fashion and then goes on to discuss how Lola has influenced the line. Madge also describes what the line means for her and generally comes across as really knowledgeable as to what she is trying to achieve by releasing Material Girl. Check it out in full here:

This promo video seemed intended for outlets to insert their own interview questions so that it appears that Madonna is answering their questions. We don’t usually get to see these videos in their raw form. Even still, I have to say that Madonna comes across as really approachable in this clip. I kinda hate to admit it but all of this promo stuff is making me wish I could wear Material Girl clothes, too! Of course … that can’t happen so bummer for me. I guess all y’all will have to have fun with the line for those of us who cannot ;)

On Wednesday we saw photos of US soccer stud Landon Donovan with David Letterman on The Late Show and today we see photos of Landon back home in LA prepping for his return to the LA Galaxy:

That’s right folks, no rest for the weary. Landon and the Galaxy have a game against the Seattle Sounders this weekend and he’s already training to get back in action. Landon takes his commitment to the LA Galaxy very seriously and I’m sure he is itching to get back on the field to play for his team. I’m not sure when David Beckham is planning to return to LA to play with the Galaxy again but at least we know that Landon Donovan is already back and ready to play.

Robert Pattinson angered British Twilight fans by not appearing at the London premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse last night because he was bizzy with work commitments to his new film Water for Elephants. While British Twihards were seething in London, R. Pattz was preening in a slick tuxedo on set … behold:

As thousands of ‘Twi-hards’ descended on London’s Leicester Square last night for the UK premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse, there were several big names conspicuously absent. The film franchise’s main actors Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner… and perhaps the most controversial absentee of all, Robert Pattinson, were all missing from the red carpet. Despite being the ensemble cast’s only Londoner, the 24-year-old was unable to leave the Los Angeles set of Water For Elephants. So while disappointed Pattinson fans had to contend themselves with other Twilight eye candy Kellan Lutz and Alex Meraz, the actor himself was thousands of miles away making his new movie. In contrast to his pasty, big-haired vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, the actor was looked dapper in a Twenties-style suit with his shorter haircut swept to the side. Also on location in downtown LA was his co-star Reece Witherspoon, who was dressed to the nine in a red dress and a curly blonde bob. So while Pattinson was working, his lesser-known Twilight co-stars Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed were holding the fort in London. While Pattinson’s absence from the UK premiere has been public knowledge for several weeks, some fans expressed their disappointment over his no-show through T-shirts and signs. Some fans queuing all day ahead of Thursday’s premiere made their feelings clear with T-shirts reading ‘Robbed’ at the prospect of not seeing their idol in person.

Well, at least Rob had a good excuse for not making the premiere … I dunno where Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were. This strikes me as a HUGE misstep considering how many Twilight fans there are in the UK. To be honest, they prolly figured the hardcore fans would still come out in droves to support the film regardless of the fact that none of the main actors showed up for the premiere. Ah well … such is life. I’m very confident that Eclipse will still do VERY well in theaters around the world this weekend … even if the British fans felt they were “Robbed” at the premiere.

Justin Gaston, who got famous by dating Miley Cyrus for a hot minute and then trying his hand at modeling and singing, is featured in a new ad campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals which was released today and shows the lad in all his nekkid glory. Gaston is joined by Ben Elliott and Giglianne Braga — a couple of up-and-coming wannabe celebs who all star together on the reality series If I Can Dream. Now, I’ve never heard of or seen the show before today but from what I gather, it showcases a group of young people living together as they try to “make it” in show business. Here is one of the new nekkid PETA ads along with some deets about If I Can Dream:

It turns out that Justin Gaston has already left the Dream house because he scored the opening gig on American Idol Kris Allen‘s Summer tour so maybe the show actually works at turning these young artists into stars? Yesterday afternoon, David and I attended a matinee performance of the hit Broadway show In the Heights (which won the Best Musical Award at the 2008 Tony Awards) which just opened at the Pantages Theater here in Hollywood, CA. I’ve been wanting to see this show for a very long time but we never managed to see it while we were in NYC. When I heard In the Heights was coming to LA, I bought tickets as soon as I could and managed to get us front row center seats:

I knew that the show would be good but I was not prepared for how blown away I would be by it. The music, the lyrics, the subject matter … it all spoke to me so perfectly. I’ve never seen a show where rap was utilized in the performance and was quite impressed with how it was integrated into the show. I’m not even kidding … I nearly started bawling my eyes out 3 times during the show. The woman next to me was crying so much, I had to hold it together so as not to embarrass myself. I am so in love with this show … I am gonna try and see it again before it ends its LA run. The audience was FULL of young Hispanic children (many schools and groups were in the hiz with us yesterday) and I thought it was really cool that they got to see a Broadway show that featured an entire cast of color. David and I were totally wowed … if you get the chance to see In the Heights either here, in NYC or elsewhere in the country on tour you MUST see it. I think you’ll love it as much as I did :)

Tonight, I’m hoping to meet up with Darion for another hang out session … we need to get the 4th of July Weekend off to a great start! Happy weekend! Get out there and enjoy it!!

Britney Spears — all decked out in a cute outfit comprised of pink sneakers, knee high socks, tiny shorts, a white tank top AND A BRA (yay!) — paid a visit to a Starbucks in Calabasas, CA yesterday to get her caffeine fix. On the way into and out of the cafe, Britney was all smiles lookin’ happy as can be …

… but at one point, our dear Britney kinda let loose a little bit and started screaming at the paparazzi. It wasn’t a breakdown as some are saying, to me it looked more like a little healthy release. Check out those photos after the jump …

David Beckham, fresh from the early exit of Team England from the 2010 World Cup soccer tournament in South Africa last week, has made his way from Nice, France (where he met up with his family to rest, relax and lick his World Cup wounds a bit) to England so that he and his eldest son Brooklyn Joseph could attend the 2010 Wimbledon tennis tournament as spectators. He may not have achieved his dream of being part of the first England football team since 1966 to lift the World Cup. But David Beckham put his disappointment behind him to show his support for another Great Briton – Scottish tennis player Andy Murray. The footballer flew back from Nice where he is holidaying with his family to take his seat on Centre Court. And the handsome father of three, brought eldest son Brooklyn, 11, along to hopefully see history in the making as Murray bid to become the first British male to win the singles title since 1938. Beckham is attached to the same management company as the Scot and joined the Centre Court crowd to watch the British number one’s clash with champion Rafa Nadal. But he has lost the first set, and will certainly face stiff competition from the Spaniard. Beckham he made a surprise appearance alongside several other invited celebrity guests including Lord Of The Rings actor Orlando Bloom, classical singer Katherine Jenkins and veteran broadcaster Sir David Frost. The Royal Box will feature several big sporting names, including 1966 Wimbledon champion Manuel Santana, who will be cheering on his fellow Spaniard Nadal. Beckham has already congratulated Murray by text message on his success at Wimbledon this year.

I guess Principal McGee from the classic 1978 film Grease was right when she said, “If you can’t be in athlete, be an athletic supporter.” It’s a shame that Becks has been spending so much time at sporting events watching from the sidelines. I’m really looking forward to his full recovery so that he can get back on the fields of glory again! Becks should be back in LA sometime soon to step back into his LA Galaxy soccer uniform. But, in the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to settle with photos of Becks as an avid athletic supporter. Ah well.

A couple of weeks ago we got to see the first photos from the Hawaiian set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides which has finally begun filming production and today we get to see the first photos of actor Johnny Depp in full costume on set as Captain Jack Sparrow:

The countdown to the eagerly-awaited fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean film has begun after Johnny Depp started filming in Hawaii. The 47-year-old was back in his battered leathers, boots, bandanna and dreadlocked wig to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in On Stranger Tides. The actor was reportedly offered a $50million salary to reprise his role as the the seafaring hero for a fourth time. Notably absent from the third sequel is Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann. Fans will know Bloom’s character Will was killed off in the last movie, At World’s End after a fight with Davy Jones (Bill Nighy). Instead, audiences will be treated to another stunning female co-star for Depp – Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, 36. The film will be something of a reunion for Cruz and Depp, who played lovers in 2001 film Blow. Also providing eye candy for male audiences is Australian supermodel Gemma Ward, 22, as a mermaid. Another new addition to the cast is English actor Ian McShane, who will play 18th century pirate Blackbeard. Blackbeard was a real-life pirate from Bristol, whose real name was Edward Teach. The pirate was greatly feared by seamen at the height of his piracy in 1713 and 1718, when he sailed the seven seas on his ship Queen Anne’s Revenge … On Stranger Tides sees Captain Jack crossing paths with Angelica (Cruz), a sexy woman from his past. Unsure of whether she genuinely feels for him or is a con artist using him to search for the fountain of youth, Captain Jack is forced onto Queen Anne’s Revenge – Blackbeard’s famous ship. Jack finds himself torn between who to fear more – Blackbeard or Angelica.

Dude, for $50 million it’s no wonder that Johnny was happy to get back into costume for another Pirates film. Tho, I have to say that I doubt very much that this 4th film will be as successful as the previous 3 films were. I mean, I bet it’ll do well but I have a hard time believing it will generate as much money at the box office … but, what the hell do I know? I didn’t believe a movie based on a ride at Disneyland would be a success and it turned into a megamillion dollar movie franchise! Jack‘s back, ready or not. Are you excited?

On Tuesday we saw Angelina Jolie on the cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine and today we get to see a photo of her in Cancun, Mexico where she is doing promo work for her new film Salt. While waving to the photographers, it was noted that Angelina is sporting a bit of new ink on her left arm … check it out:

Proving that she still regards her skin as a canvas, Angelina Jolie has added yet another tattoo to her highly inked body. Her latest imprint resembles little more than a decorative swirl, but the motif was clearly visible on the inside of her left arm. It’s positioned next to her elbow, alongside a tattoo of the Roman numeral 13. The actress flashed her latest ink as she waved to fans during the launch of her new movie Salt, while she was in Cancun, Mexico. In the action film, Angelina plays a CIA agent accused of being a Russian spy. The actress arrived in Cancun by private jet and brought her children with her.

Altho this latest bit of inked artwork isn’t too substantial it’s proof that Angelina is not finished tatting up her bod. While Ange doesn’t have quite as many tattoos as, say, David Beckham does I think it’s safe to say that she is deffo lookin’ to give him a run for his money. This new tattoo is pretty I suppose … what do y’all think?
