Robert Pattison Gets To Know An Elephant Co-Star On Set
This is who the 'Water' is for

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen photos of actor Robert Pattinson filming scenes for his new movie with pretty big Academy Award-winning co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz but today we get to see him filming scenes with literally his biggest co-star yet. Here are photos of R. Pattz on the SoCal set of his film Water for Elephants with his elephant co-star:

But, we already know that R. Pattz isn’t the first Elephants actor to work with animals on set … earlier this week we saw photos of Reese Witherspoon riding around on horseback on set. Admittedly, I am not familiar with the novel on which this film is based but I’m kinda intrigued by all of these animals on set … which they BETTER be taking very good care of. I’m not a big fan of period pieces but … I dunno. I’ve heard mixed things from Pink readers about whether they think the movie based on the book will turn out well. I’m still on the fence … but these photos have piqued my interest — how about you?

Any movies with animals in it, has a person that specializes in animal care on set to make sure the animals are taken care of and that no harm will come to the animals**I forgot what the title for this person is**(even the food the animals are given is checked to make sure it will not hurt the animals in some way or another) But anyways the more photos I see from this movie, the more interesting it becomes to me. I’m debating on whether or not I should read the book before the movie comes out.

I guess the title is Certified Animal Safety Representative. Can’t believe I didn’t remember that. I guess it’s been around since 1940? I found out about it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00hDzDfdtzU

If you’re interested about it (You don’t really have to watch the video, but it includes more about it. But most detail is in the text below the video)

I certainly hope they have someone there…there are significant animal abuse scenes that might make it hard. And yes @Ama, you should definitely read the book – it’s amazing.

I am intrigued to see this movie! RPATZ doesn’t do anything for me! Sometimes he is hot and sometimes he is NOT! This is one of those times.

My town chose ‘Water for Elephants’ as its One Read book last year (think OneBook OneTwitter), and I really enjoyed it. It’s definitely worth a read, and I think it’s kind of the perfect summer reading kind of book.

Trent you might find it interesting to know that in the book R Patz’s character is a vet student and shows a lot of concern for the treatment of the animals.

Read the book! It is a really great story and will give you much more perspective into why there the animals are a necessary part of the film. Couldn’t put the book down – was lousy house guest at the beach cause all I wanted to do was read the book!

I JUST read the book, yesterday. I’d definitely suggest reading it before the movie, it’s set partially in modern day. You could finish it in a few hours.
