Early last week, new Mariah Carey pregnancy rumors surfaced after she decided — at the last minute, mind you — to pull out of appearing in a new Tyler Perry movie reportedly on the advice of her doctor. Since then, everyone has been wondering if Mimi is finally expecting her first child with hubby Nick Cannon. Yesterday, RadarOnline went so far as to “exclusively confirm” Mariah‘s pregnancy based on information they got from an “inside source”. Today, we learn that Nick posted a public comment on his official Twitter account to address the rumors personally … this is what he had to tweet:
If & when my wife is ready to make ANY announcements about private matters she will do it personally. Thanks for being respectful GodBless / My heart goes out to any woman who has to deal with public scrutiny and speculation pertaining to their private life REAL TALK!
And there you have it … REAL TALK! from Mr. Mariah Carey himself. To be fair, I can understand the man’s frustration … it must be really tiring to be the husband of someone so famous because I’d wager 98% of what he has to address is about his more famous wife, not him. As I’ve said all along I, for one, would LOVE to see Mimi become a new first time mom. I think she would make a fantastically beautiful pregnant woman. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if she is … or isn’t.

Well, this PRETTY MUCH confirms it doesn’t it? I mean he didn’t use as many words but he said the announcement ‘if and when’ will come from Mariah herself. They’re probably waiting for the ‘safe’ three month mark (the chance of miscarriage is much more likely in the first 3 months, especially at Mariah’s age) before making the press announcement.
Leave them be I say, we’ll have an announcement soon.
I feel bad for famous expectant mothers. The public acts like they have a RIGHT to get all of their personal medical information. The first trimester of any woman’s pregnancy is a sensitive time…things don’t always work out for the best. Then you add Mariah’s age into the mix, and that just makes things all that more sensitive. Can you imagine the pain of not only having to tell your close friends that you lost a baby, but the entire world as well? Celebrities are people too, and there are some things that ALL human’s have a right to keep private. Medical information and pregnancy fall into that category.
I think I’m the only female that doesn’t get that excited when a celeb may or may not be pregnant. I agree with Krissy, it’s no one’s business until it is revealed by the woman.

but im not gunna lie…if she comes out and says shes expecting (cause i’ll only believe it when she does) im gunna be sooooo excited for her. homegirl deserves some happiness like this.
@krissy – I totally agree…as someone who recently experienced a devastating miscarriage, the first trimester is extremely iffy and something that should be private (if you want it to be). It would be awful to then have to tell the world you lost your child because they were all speculating.
