Last night David and I met up with our Turtle Party friends Tamar, Ollie, Rob and Caleb so that we could all watch The Human Centipede (The First Sequence). Now, I’ve heard many things about this film … and I’ve seen a few … and everything I’ve heard and seen has been DEEPLY disturbing … none of which is as disturbing as the film itself:

Now, let’s put the film’s subject matter aside for a moment. The acting in this film is ridiculously bad. If the movie’s storyline wasn’t so outrageously disgusting, the movie wouldn’t even be worth talking about. That being said … the movie’s storyline is SO OUTRAGEOUSLY DISGUSTING that it kinda makes the film worth discussing. For those of you who aren’t aware, The Human Centipede is a horror film that features a mad surgeon who attaches 3 people from mouth to anus by their gastric systems. Revealing this is not a spoiler because this information is revealed in the trailer. The film doesn’t really show anything truly disgusting but the implied actions and scenes are wholly disturbing. I honestly was bothered by what I saw for hours afterward. We all howled with disgust multiple times thruout the movie … so as far as being horrified by a horror film goes … mission: accomplished. But, as I said, the acting is so bad .. and there are a few plot holes so I can’t say I loved the film. The movie is effed up, y’all. If you want to be disturbed, check it out. I’m glad I saw it … but I don’t think I’ll ever need to see it again. That is … until the sequel hits theaters.
To offset the horror of The Human Centipede, I was happy that the season 3 premiere of True Blood aired on HBO last night. After the jump, check out some of my marginally NSFW fave scenes from the season 3 premiere ep …

Yes, the butt scenes were really nice … but that dream sequence between Bill and Sam was … hot. I hear the water in Arkansas is … very hard. Best.Line.Ever. While there wasn’t too much action in last night’s premiere ep, the season is off to a great start. I cannot wait to see more.
Tonight … no plans … and I’m so happy about that :D

WTF???!!! I am disturbed by just the trailer!!!
@Trent. Do you think Sam’s dream is hinting at a possible awakening/awareness of his sexuality?
I think Sam’s dream is the result of him having to take Bill’s blood after being stabbed at Mary Ann’s offering at the end of last season. Remember Sookie and Lafayette having sexual dreams about Eric last season? Eric explained that if one takes blood from a vamp then they are tied together, and sexual dreams are a side effect of that.
i loved this season opener! i’m kinda bummed that they gave away the werewolf story during the promos for this season, but i think i can forgive them if they’re going to be showing this much nekkidness ;-)
@Jo…..agreed…I kinda wish the werewolves would have been more of a suprise..but oh well lol..and that was quite the 3rd season entrance from our dear Eric…OMG….didn’t think they were gonna go all out the first episode in!
Trent, you messed me up with just the dam trailer!!! LOL
Trueblood was just a ok for me. Made it up with a whole lot of men!
lol seriously, why would anyone want to see a movie like that??
The trailer alone is f-up! Can’t imagine sitting through the whole movie.
No Thanks!
OH MY GOD! TRENT!
I just saw this…I figured you’d be as horrified as anyone else…

@Shannon — :O
I so want to see this movie!! I am extremely happy to see it!! I can’t wait to be so disgusted! Also, I really enjoyed last nights ep…the story is off to a start and that makes me happy!!!
did u know the movie is actually wrong? centipedes only have one set of legs per segment whereas milipedes have 2 – if u count their arms as legs when on all 4s, they make a milipede.
sorry lol
My feelings on True Blood are mixed. There wasn’t enough of a bang-like feeling to me… The first episode of a new season needs to have a bang, and it did have a bang – literally – but not the type of bang I wanted. Hopefully it’ll get better. : )
oh my god that trailer seriously made me sick to my stomach. I feel nauseous. I would never see a movie like that. that trailer was enough for me. True Blood was awesome. Eric is so fine.
agreed – i got nauseated just by watching the trailer. I can’t believe you managed to make it through the entire movie!
watched that movie late at night by myself hahaha i’m a champ when it comes to that stuff though! the best part was that you couldn’t hear the girls talk because god DAMN were they annoying! and terrible terrible actresses….. but then again, would any credible actors really WANT to be part of a film that involves mouth to anus attachment? probably not :) must admit it is worth seeing once though. it’s an experience, that’s for sure!
I seriously feel that once you wrap your mind around what is happening in THC, everything goes exactly the way you’d expect. Of course my friends and i were disgusted and I spent the better part of the movie with my hands over my mouth in shock but that’s besides the point. Yes it was gross out ridiculous but it wasn’t as bad as the hype made it out to be.
I’m not bothered by much when it comes to movies, but the description alone showed me that even I have my limits. Yuck. Still haven’t seen the trailer, and hopes that I never will…
I’m sad to hear that the surgeon was a bad actor, though. Some reviews I read said that he really owned the role, and I was kind of happy for the actor for getting praise amidst all the malarkey and ickiness.
@faiththebloody — I should clarify that the acting on the part of the victims was horrible, notsomuch the surgeon. To be honest, he was creepy without even having to act. He is the best actor in the film, hands down.
I like creepy horror movies but that trailer was just too much for.
Trent, will you see the sequel? The director wants to do a 25-man one or something…
