A new report claims a third and final film will NOT be made
Is ‘Sex And The City’ Over For Good?

Now, take the following report with a HUGE grain of salt but the Daily Mail (a publication not really known for journalistic integrity) is reporting that plans for a third Sex and the City film have been shelved due to the lackluster performance of the second film which was released last month. Citing a report from Grazia, the Daily Mail claims that the Sex and the City franchise has come to a final end:

Carrie and Co are set to hang up their Manolos and finish off their cosmos for good as the Sex And The City juggernaught grinds to a halt. Following 12 years, 94 episodes and two blockbuster movies, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are out of work. After the second Sex And The City movie received scathing reviews, Grazia reports that all plans for a third installment have been shelved. It had been pretty much a given that there would be a third installment of the smash hit to complete a big-screen trilogy – even the cast thought so. Sarah Jessica Parker recently said: ‘I hope Carrie will live on.’ And John Corbett said: ‘I think the girls are up for [another movie] and Michael Patrick King has lots of ideas.’ The second movie was mired in controversary with scenes set in Abu Dhabi being branded borderline racist. In addition the movie was universally panned by critics, Entertainment Weekly wrote a scathing review: ‘SATC 2 transformed four once mildly likeable characters into rancid, obliviously overentitled grotesques.’ The movie performed disappointingly at the box office, coming in third in the U.S on it’s opening weekend and taking in $37million compared to the first movie which raked in $57million.

I personally do not believe SaTC is over. I would bet good money that they will figure out how to make a third movie becuase A.) you kinda need a third to round out the movie franchise and B.) the franchise CANNOT end with SaTC 2. I’m not ready to mourn the death of the franchise until we hear something official … but, it is possible that there may be a grain of truth to this report. I know a lot of people were disappointed with SaTC 2 but I am hopeful they’ll make one more, great movie. They have to … don’t they?

KM gets gritty for 'Jack and Diane'
Kylie Minogue Films A New Movie In NYC

Kylie Minogue, who is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Attitude magazine, has made her way back to NYC, NY to film a new movie there titled Jack and Diane. Kylie was spotted on the movie set in full costume which includes fake tattoos … clearly, she will be playing a gritty character. Here are a few photos of Kylie on set along with a synopsis of the film from IMDB:

Jack and Diane, two teenage girls, meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane’s charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack’s tough skinned heart. But, when Jack discovers that Diane is leaving the country in a week she tries to push her away. Diane must struggle to keep their love alive while hiding the secret that her newly awakened sexual desire is giving her werewolf-like visions.

Um … what? I mean, I love Kylie so much … more than most people on Earth but I am not a huge fan of her movie roles. Ever since I saw her in Bio-Dome with Pauly Shore and the idiot Baldwin, I don’t get too excited for her new film projects. This one sounds … interesting. I wouldn’t mind seeing more photos of her in costume on set but I’m not sure what to think about this film based on the synopsis. What do y’all think … does this movie look/sound like a winner?

"[Acting is] a fun job. It’s a luxury. But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer."
Angelina Jolie Covers ‘Vanity Fair’ Magazine

Yesterday we got our first look at Angelina Jolie inside the pages of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine but today we get to see her on the cover. Here is raven-haired Angelina on the cover of the new issue of VF mag along with a few more excerpts from her coverstory interview wherein she hints that she may be ready to retire from acting:

She is a dedicated mother of six children, an A-list actress and global humanitarian. But Angelina Jolie says she might soon give up acting to spend more time with her family. In an interview in the new issue of Vanity Fair, the actress says: ‘It is not the most important thing in my life. ‘It’s a fun job. It’s a luxury. But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer.’ Jolie, recently finished filming in Venice for her role as an Interpol agent opposite Johnny Depp in The Tourist, says the need to be with her family is behind her stance: ‘I have a happy home.’ She and Brad Pitt have six children, Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four, and twins Vivienne and Knox, who are almost two. Three of their children -Maddox, Zahara and Pax – are adopted. Miss Jolie took time to describe her children’s developing personalities during the interview with the magazine.

I’d take the talk of retirement with a huge grain of salt … but, then again, I could see Angelina forgoing a life of acting for a life of philanthropy. But, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if she actually plans to make good on this retirement talk. As for the magazine cover, yeah, it’s not my favorite. It’s kinda blah … and I can’t stop looking at how one boob is mushed up higher than the other one. I’m still dying to read the full interview … but this cover leaves me cold. What do y’all think?

The bald and the beautiful?
Naomi Campbell Poses For A New Photoshoot

Fur loving supermodel Naomi Campbell was spotted on the streets of NYC yesterday posing at a gas station for a fashion shoot for designer Dennis Basso and when she wasn’t being primped and primed for the shoot, she was showing off just how much hair she really doesn’t have. No one every said that beauty had to be pretty:

Her wild behaviour is often shocking, but Naomi Campbell caused jaws to drop for entirely different reasons today. The supermodel left onlookers stunned as she revealed a huge bald patch beneath her long luscious wig while on a fashion shoot for designer Dennis Basso in New York. The 40-year-old has revealed signs of a vanishing hairline before, but the true extent of the problem was put on show as she held her hair back as a stylist adjusted her clothing. It appears that years of wearing tight hair extensions have taken a toll on the model’s natural hair, causing severe breakage. Hair loss associated with hair braiding, weaving and extensions is known as ‘traction alopecia’. Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham and Alexandra Burke are all reported to have suffered similar symptoms as a result of their extensions. While prolonged traction can cause permanent loss of hair in the affected areas, it is reversible if caught early. Trichologist to the stars Philip Kingsley said tight hair styles, pony tails, hard brushing and hair extensions could all lead to traction hair loss. ‘The old-fashion hair extensions were put in by weaving threads which had hairs attached to them between the natural hair,’ he said. ‘They were weaved next to the scalp and tightly knotted at each end to secure them.’ ‘Because of their proximity to the scalp, the thread, which the hair knotted onto it, rubbed on the scalp, caused irritation, consequently making it sore and sometimes breaking the skin.’ He said the new way to put in hair extensions, which involves glue-heating them onto natural hairs, could cause similar problems. ‘The biggest potential problem is traction hair loss and breakage because of the pulling involved.’ But Naomi appeared oblivious to the revelation as she posed at a gas station in the Meatpacking district. She wore a green swimsuit that put her long, lean legs on show and also paraded a series of fur coats. The former Peta campaigner famously declared in the Nineties that she would rather go naked than wear fur but she had a change of heart some years back.

Yeesh! See, there is a price to beauty … apparently, it’s baldness. Ugh, I am so not a fan of the fur … I think it’s so gross that Naomi would once pledge to never wear fur and then decide, meh, she likes fur after all. Karma has a funny way of working out. Isn’t it interesting that she ends up losing her hair while she proudly wears the hair/fur of poor defenseless animals? HMMMM.

Meet Lola
Lourdes Maria Blogs, Models For ‘Material Girl’

Last week we got our first look at sketches from Madonna‘s upcoming juniors fashion line called Material Girl and a day later we got to see the first teaser promo ad for the line. Today we get to see a cute promo model card for a young girl called Lola who will likely appear in the ad campaign for Material Girl so … meet Lola:

Helluuur thurrrr, I’m Lola and this is my first blog entry so it’s kind of like ummmm….

I’m just going to use this blog entry to tell y’all a little bit about myself. I’m 13 and I’ll be 14 in October, so I can’t wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair… THANK YOU MOTHER!! My favvvv color is black (just because it goes with everything) and my least favorite color is brown (because it resembles the color of something QUITE gross). I am totally obsessivo about 80’s shorts… You know the kind that makes your butt look kinda big, with a grunge-looking shirt tucked in. It’s kinda nerdy but I love it. And the 80’s are another huge obsession of mine, which is totally amazingly awesome because Material Girl…HELLO! It’s like 80’s themed, which pretty much rocks, so yeah. I’m still in love with brogues or as some people call them “oxford shoes”. I haven’t found a good sandal so I’m on like a search right now.

Yes, folks, Lola is Madonna‘s eldest daughter Lourdes Maria‘s nickname. We already know that Lola has had a hand in the design process for Material Girl but it looks like she will be featured in the promo materials as well. You can follow the Material Girl blog HERE. It’s unclear if Lola will be updating the site with future posts but this blogpost is a good indication that we might get more posts from her in the coming weeks and months.

The TV Guide
To Infinity And Beyond

No big personal updates to share today … yesterday was full of a whole lotta nothin’. I did receive a delivery yesterday that will make future visits to Disneyland a whole lot smoother … so I guess I can share with all y’all. Whenever David and I go to Disney, we have a hard time figuring out who’s gonna carry the keys, the sunglasses, the bottled water and all the crap we undoubtedly buy (well, I undoubtedly buy) so I’ve been in the market for the perfect bag to use on our trips to Disneyland … and I managed to come upon this awesome Buzz Lightyear backpack:

Not only does it look like Buzz Lightyear‘s jetpack but it also has my name on it! See, stuff like this can be fun for folks older than 10 years old. Yes, I know it’s silly to think of a grown man wearing a Buzz Lightyear backpack but, to be honest, inside the hallowed borders of Disneyland … it’s perfectly natural to see such a thing. Well, at least that’s the notion that I will be sticking to ;) If I can rock the Mickey Mouse ears, I can rock the backpack.

Not sure what the plan is for tonight … I’m hoping to meet up with Darion for dinner. He just returned home from his visit with the folks up in Oregon so we need to catch up. Hope your Tuesday is going well!!

The ‘Britney For Candie’s’ Website Goes Online

Last Friday we got our first look at some of the new fashions that will be made available when the new clothing line Britney for Candie’s: The Limited Edition Collection goes on sale this Fall. On Saturday we got a peek at the first promo photos to be released for the campaign. Today we learn that the official Candie’s site has been updated for the Britney for Candie’s line and we get to check out a few of the full-size promo posters from the ad campaign:

She looks amazing in this pic! While I still question the verity of whether or not this line was actually designed by Britney Spears, I think all the looks are very “Britney” and do look great on her. After the jump, check out two more promo photos and a video from the campaign photoshoot …

"It's safe to say people yelling 'Bullshit!' didn't feel like their $45 was well spent."
Hole Performs A ‘Disastrous’ 3-Hour Concert In Washington DC

Courtney Love and her new incarnation of her band Hole performed a show at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC this week that reportedly went on for over 3 hours … and according to the review by the Washington Post, pretty much everyone in attendance felt the show was 3+ hours too long. Here are some deets from this debacle of a Hole concert:

“You get the Bruce Springsteen set, sorry.” Courtney Love muttered those words at some point during Hole’s show Sunday night at the 9:30 club. It’s hard to remember exactly when. Time seemed to stand still for so much of the evening. If she meant that we were in for a nearly three-hour concert, then yes, her statement was true. If she meant that we would experience a well-oiled rock-and-roll machine and everybody would leave feeling satisfied they got their money’s worth … let’s come back to that one. It’s safe to say the people yelling “Bull[expletive]! This is bull[expletive]!” didn’t feel like their $45 was well spent. There were more than a handful of patrons shouting and cursing at the endlessly controversial, occasionally coherent 45-year-old rock trainwreck. Many more simply headed for the exits. Three-quarters-filled at the start, the club was no more than a quarter packed by the excruciating end. Make no mistake – this was an astonishingly awful performance that had few moments of redeeming musical value. Song titles, lyrics, guitar chords – Love remembered only some of them, and infrequently. Then again, what was really the best-case musical scenario? A competent recreation of songs more than a decade old, played by Love and her latest hired hands? Is that what people wanted to see – Courtney karaoke versions of ’90s MTV buzz clips? Maybe. But probably not. Perhaps a bit more professionalism would have been nice but in 2010 you pay your $45 hoping for the Courtney Love Experience. And Sunday night was an experience like no other. She took the stage nearly an hour past the advertised 9:30 start time, smoking a cigarette, rambling for a minute about how she was late because she had just been hanging out with a senator friend. (Leave your best guesses in the comments.) She also introduced an assistant, Lisa, who was on stage for the entire show filming Love on an iPhone. Not on the side of the stage. Not filming a few songs. The entire show, on stage, often directly in front of Love. Love, naturally, played to the camera more than her fans. She preened, she constantly sang in its direction, she looked like she was trying to seduce it. Love and Lisa huddled before, during and after songs, conferring about what angles to shoot, like they were Bogdanovich and Kovacs. When one fan near the front complained that Lisa was being obstructive Love quickly snapped, “[Expletive] you, she’s with me.” She introduced “Someone Else’s Bed” as a “deeply emotional song” and spent the first 30 seconds of it instructing Lisa where to situate herself to get the best angle of Love giving it her faux-heartfelt best. The between song chatter was more than just chatter. Ten minutes without playing a song? Sure, let’s do that a few times. She talked about her courting style (“I never chase”), being anorexic and bulimic, quizzed fans on the meaning of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s lyrics, twice mentioned how The Washington Post hated her new album “Nobody’s Daughter,” and name-dropped a “TMZ” episode’s worth of celebrities, from Trent Reznor to Diablo Cody to George Clooney, even Douglas Fairbanks. She asked what the lamest Hole song was and cursed at people when they gave the wrong answer. When Love got around to singing, her voice sounded as if something died in her throat earlier in the day. Love has a blood-curdling howl, by far her most effective asset as a performer. She just should have used it more on Sunday. During the choruses of “Miss World” and “Violet” – two of her best and most popular songs – she turned the microphone to the crowd and didn’t even bother singing. Other times she skipped lines in order to cough, or take a sip of water or just … not sing. Of the nearly 30 songs (or song fragments), not even a handful were completed without some minor disaster … “This is a really weird show,” Love said in perhaps the understatement of the night a bit earlier. “I can’t tell if it’s really terrible.” Courtney, let me tell you something. In just the past year and a half, I’ve been to about 400 shows. I’ve seen some really terrible ones. And this was really the most terrible. No question. But the vast majority of those 400 shows, I went there, I saw it, and almost immediately forgot I was there. I’ll never forget this night with Courtney Love, no matter how much I may want to. And isn’t that really what she’s always wanted?

I was able to see Hole perform live at the start of this tour back in April and at the time, I was pissed that the show as too short (it clocked in at about 45 mins.) It sounds like I got lucky. If you are interested, you can read the full Washington Post review HERE … it goes into great detail about how painful this concert was to endure. I’m telling you, I would’ve been among the folks who left early. I had hoped that C. Love might be ready to make a serious go of her music career again but, alas, it seems that she is gone to us forever. I’m sure she’ll piddle her way thru more live performances but it won’t last … hopefully. The woman is just a wreck … I think she needs a long vacation … better yet, she needs permanent retirement. Unfortch from her p.o.v. she prolly thinks she’s being “rock and roll” when in fact she’s only finding new ways to embarrass herself for public entertainment. Sad.

The CAMP Issue
Kylie Minogue Does ‘Attitude’ Magazine

Kylie Minogue, whose new album Aphrodite will be released here in the US next week, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the UK magazine Attitude. This new issue is the mag’s Camp Issue so obviously they had to put the queen of camp Kylie Minogue on the cover. In her coverstory interview, Kylie reveals some of the regrets she has about her last album X:

KYLIE MINOGUE regrets not pushing record company bosses to allow songs about her cancer battle on her last album, X – because she poured her heart and soul into the emotional tracks. The Aussie superstar was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and underwent intensive chemotherapy treatment, which caused her to lose her hair. As soon as it grew back, Minogue headed into the studio and spent “insane, emotional” sessions recording with producer pal Biff Stannard. But label bosses rejected the personal tracks for inclusion on her 2007 album X – and Minogue admits she’ll always regret not convincing them to change their minds. She tells Britain’s Attitude magazine, “As soon as I could get back in the studio, I went with hair not a centimetre long, I ran in there with Biff and we did five days of insane, emotional… the two of us will never forget it. I’d written songs about my experience, my illness, and they didn’t make the album, I even don’t know why. If they just weren’t good enough songs, or the record company didn’t think they were appropriate, I don’t know. So there’s a little regret about that.”

Personally, I love X … there are so many great, upbeat tracks on that album … I have no complaints. But, I can absolutely see where Kylie is coming from. I’m sure writing about her cancer battle was very cathartic. It’s a shame that none of that music made it on the album. I’m certain her record label was adamant about her not releasing a “cancer album” but still … after all of Kylie‘s successes, they could’ve let her make the album she truly wanted to make. She is such a survivor … and she’s always got a smile on her face. I just love her … and I can’t wait to see the photos from this Attitude photospread.
