Angelina Jolie Does ‘Vanity Fair’ Magazine

Angelina Jolie, dubbed Angelina The Conqueror by Vanity Fair magazine, is featured in the new issue of the mag due out on newsstands this Wednesday. The interview, which was conducted in Venice, Italy where Ange has been filming a film with Johnny Depp called The Tourist, discusses issues ranging from rumored pregnancy (she’s not) to marriage (she won’t cuz she already feels like she is) to the prospect of co-starring with faux hubby Brad Pitt in a movie again (it’s possible but not likely they’d do Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2). Here is a sneak peek at Ange‘s upcoming VF magazine feature along with some excerpts from her interview:

“No, I’m not pregnant,” Angelina Jolie tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Rich Cohen, from the set of her movie in Venice, Italy. Perhaps in the future? “We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They’re kids now, and can play together, but they’re going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.” Jolie says she and Brad Pitt also are not “against getting married,” but “it’s just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment [than marriage]. It’s for life.” Despite her dedication to her work, she thinks she won’t do it much longer: “It’s not the most important thing in my life. Acting helped me as I was growing up. It helped me learn about myself, helped me travel, helped me understand life, express myself, all those wonderful things. So I’m very, very grateful, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury. Look, I’m at work today in the middle of Venice. But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer.” Jolie says this reassessment is mostly due to her family: “Because I have a happy home….I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and I suddenly found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.” Jolie talks extensively about her children, explaining that “Mad’s a real intellectual, which I can take no credit for genetically. He’s great at school, great at history. He feels like he could be a writer or travel the world and learn about places and things. Zahara’s got an extraordinary voice and is just so elegant and well spoken. Shiloh’s hysterically funny, one of the goofiest, most playful people you’ll ever meet. Knox and Viv are classic boy and girl. She’s really female. And he’s really a little dude.” Jolie says that when she was growing up she was most like her daughter Shiloh: “Goofy and verbal, the early signs of a performer…. I used to get dressed up in costumes and jump around. But at some point, I got closed off, darker. I don’t remember anything happening. I think you just get hit with the realities of certain things in life, think too much, start to realize the world isn’t as you wished it would be, so you deepen. Then, as I had kids and got older—being goofy, lighter—it all came back.” And what does Angelina think of Brad’s strange, wispy beard? “I love Brad in every state.”

Wow … in just this short excerpt we’ve already learned so much from Angelina, stuff that she hasn’t really shared in the past few years. It’s really cool getting to hear about the kids in this intimate way. I suspect the full interview will reveal even more. Ange and the fam have made their way back home to SoCal so that daddy Brad can do some work here. Over the weekend, Angelina was spotted with her eldest daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel making their way into a party in Culver City. After the jump, check out a couple photos of the ladies here in LA this weekend and read a few more excerpts from Angelina‘s upcoming VF interview …

Terry Richardson shoots
The ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Pose For ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine

Earlier this month we learned the semi-tragic news that the guys from MTV‘s Jersey Shore will be appearing in an upcoming issue of GQ magazine and today we learn that the whole cast will be featured in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The JS cast posed for photographer Terry Richardson on the beach in Seaside Heights, NJ this weekend for a photospread that will be featured in RS:

Their lives consist of nothing more strenuous than plenty of GLT – that’s a morning routine of Gym, Tanning, and Laundry for the uninitiated. But it seems living their lives on the beach has paid off for the cast members of Jersey Shore, as they were photographed for the front cover of prestigious magazine Rolling Stone. The shoot took place during sunset with legendary photographer Terry Richardson. It’s obviously a sign that they have made it – it’s the second time he’s photographed them. Snooki showed off her curves in a daring cut-out one-piece, which struggled to contain the 21-year-old’s buxom curves. Her cast-mates were weighed down with jewellery and lashings of make-up and hair gel as they struck their most outrageous poses. The TV show, which follows the eight housemates as they spend the summer holidaying on the New Jersey Shore, has become one of the most popular reality shows of the moment. Hook-ups and bust-ups ensue along with plenty of clubbing in the bars along the coastline. But the show has had its share of controversy too – some have taken offense to the cast’s use of the words ‘guido’ and ‘guidette’, which many view as slurs against Italian-Americans. And there was public uproar over a scene in which Snooki was punched in the face by a male bar patron, which prompted MTV to black out the footage. The castmates are already capitalising on the success of the show, with Snooki landing a guest spot as a presenter a the MTV Movie Awards, while 23-year-old JWoww has just unveiled her own fashion line, Filthy Couture. The second season of MTV’s Jersey Shore airs in the U.S. on July 29.

I’m gonna take a wild stab in the dark and guess that these jokers will be featured in the issue of Rolling Stone that will be timed perfectly with the release of the second season of their show. I mean, I get that the cast of Jersey Shore will be coming at us again on MTV this Summer but is it really necessary for them to infiltrate our magazines as well? We’ve already seen them in the pages of Interview magazine … so now we have GQ and Rolling Stone to look forward to? I suppose they do need to strike while the iron is hot and the demand still seems to be high but I’m kinda over the hoopla of the show and these people already. But, I fear, the focus on Jersey Shore will get even more intense when the second season starts at the end of next month. Are you ready for it?

Prince Harry Visits The US: Day Three

Over the past couple of days we’ve seen photos of Prince Harry of Wales enjoying a 3-day visit to the US that had him hangin’ with US military cadets at West Point Military Academy as well as pitchin’ for the NY Mets but today we get to see photos of Harry doing something that we’ve seen him do before — play polo. Prince Harry, for the third year in a row, participated in the 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic which was held on Governor’s Island in NYC yesterday to round out his short visit to the US. Before the game got underway, Harry spoke to the folks at the polo match about the important need to help the AIDS-ravaged people of Africa, a cause that was very close to his late mother Princess Diana‘s heart:

Britain’s Prince Harry capped his New York visit with a polo match Sunday on an island off Manhattan to benefit 400,000 children of an AIDS-ravaged African nation. The 25-year-old son of the late Princess Diana was pitted against the best-known player in the equestrian sport, the Argentine Nacho Figueras … The 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic was played on Governor’s Island. Harry has participated the past two years. The United States “has always protected the downtrodden, the poorest, those most in need of help in the world,” Harry said before the match. “And to me, this is what the United States stands for.” Harry mounted a polo pony as part of his pledge to continue his mother’s work. Princess Diana, who was often photographed embracing HIV-positive mothers and children, died in 1997 in a Paris car crash. Sunday’s heat, topping 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 Celsius), “is a welcome relief after the snow and ice of Lesotho, where I was last week,” her son said of the southern African nation where he said he took his brother, Prince William, to show him the work of his charity. Earlier, Harry joined guests in the VIP “marquee” — a fancy white tent where lunch tables for 10 overlooking the field went for as much as $50,000. Proceeds from the day would go to American Friends of Sentebale, a charity set up in 2006 by Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho for “the vulnerable children of Lesotho,” where many children are AIDS orphans. Harry said both he and the African prince wanted to follow the examples set by their mothers. “Both were very much loved, and both loved people — both loved helping people who needed it the most,” he said. About 100 children in Lesotho lose one or both of their parents each day, Harry said, adding that the orphaned children survive with no prospects of a regular nourishing diet and little hope of a meaningful education. The tally for the day was not immediately available, but was likely hefty, given the minimum price for a table for 10 in the VIP marquee — $20,000. The $50,000 tables were closest to that of the prince. A picnic on the grass went for $250 per person … Harry’s three-day visit to New York began Friday at the West Point Military Academy north of the city, followed by UNICEF on Saturday, when he threw the first pitch at a Mets game.

I’m telling you, Prince Harry and his older brother Prince William of Wales are absolutely doing their late mother proud. Her philanthropic spirit lives on in her two sons … it’s really something. After Harry gave his speech, it was time for him to suit up and play polo. After the jump, check out some great photos from yesterday’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and learn whose team came out on topPrince Harry‘s or Nacho Figueras

Vince Neil Busted!

Vince Neil, the frontman for the hair metal band Mötley Crüe, was arrested in the wee hours earlier today on charges of driving under the influence in Las Vegas, NV making him the latest celeb to allegedly put the lives of other drivers in danger by getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. TMZ is reporting that Neil was busted shortly after he was spotted at his LV restaurant Tres Rios Cantina:

TMZ has learned Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil was arrested for suspicion of DUI this morning in Las Vegas. He is currently in custody in Clark County Jail, where his bail has been set at $2,000 … Shortly before Neil was arrested, the rocker appeared at his Las Vegas restaurant — Vince Neil’s Tres Rios.

Gross. It seems like not a week goes by that we learn of another celeb getting busted for drunk driving. What’s even more gross is there are countless other arrests for drunk driving that occur every single day and we just don’t hear about them. In many cases, those arrests stem from accidents where people are injured or killed. Neil has a long record of arrest and has been jailed before (for various crimes including assault and Pink reader Pixie reminds me that Vince Neil previously killed a bandmate by drunk driving back in 1984) … so it remains to be seen if he will suffer any real consequences for this latest arrest should he be proved guilty of DUI. Neil only served 30 days in jail for his ’84 DUI conviction … 30 days for an incident that killed a man! Another day, another DUI arrest … just sad.
