Katherine in Gary, IN - the rest of the Jacksons here in SoCal
The Jackson Family Honors Michael Jackson On The Anniversary Of His Death

Earlier today we learned that Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson would be appearing at a monument unveiling in Gary, IN at the childhood home of the Jackson family and right now we get to see a few photos of Katherine at today’s ceremony:

It was reported that Katherine would be bringing Michael‘s 3 children with her to Gary for this event but they didn’t appear to be at the ceremony … maybe she decided to let the kids stay in Hawaii so that they could enjoy themselves there instead. As for the rest of the Jackson clan, they remained here in SoCal so that they could visit MJ‘s grave at Forest Lawn Cemetery. After the jump, check out photos of Janet Jackson and her brothers making their appearance at MJ‘s final resting place earlier today …

Technically, not another celebrity fragrance
Evan Rachel Wood Is The New Face Of Gucci Perfume

Evan Rachel Wood, actress and paramour of Marilyn Manson, has been tapped as the new female celebrity spokesmodel for Gucci fragrances (she joins James Franco who is the male celebrity spokesmodel). Today we get our first look at ERW in the new ad campaign for the Gucci perfume called Guilty:

Gucci will launch Guilty, their latest fragrance for women, in September. Guilty is for the ‘bold and daring glamgirl’ who ‘thinks only of pleasure’, and is fronted by actress/singer Evan Rachel Wood. Guilty is a floriental perfume; the notes feature mandarin, pink pepper, peach, lilac, geranium, amber and patchouli. Gucci Guilty will be available in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

Well, at least it’s not another celebrity fragrance. Gucci: Guilty was created by the fine perfumers who have worked on Gucci‘s other signature scents (which means it won’t be available for sale at your local drug store), ERW is just featured in the ad campaign. She looks good … I mean, as far as these ads tend to go. What do y’all think?

Book 2
First Look: Nicole Richie, ‘Priceless’

Nicole Richie, New York Times best-selling author, has announced the release of her second book due out later this year, 5 years after the release of her debut novel The Truth About Diamonds. As you may recall (you readers who have been around since 2005), Nicole gave an amazing shout-out to Pink is the new Blog in her Diamonds novel which is one of the coolest things that has ever happened in my professional blogging career:

She then very graciously signed a copy of the book as a gift for me in November of ’05 on her first book tour:

And now, after all these years … she is back with a new book entitled Priceless. After the jump, check out the cover for Priceless and find out when the book will be available for sale this year …

‘Material Girl’ Releases Its First Teaser Promo Ad

Yesterday we got to see the first sketches from Madonna‘s upcoming juniors fashion line called Material Girl and today we get our first look at the first teaser promo ad released for the line. The ad campaign won’t officially get underway until June 29 but this first tease might be a hint at what’s to come:

I understand the Material Girl ad campaign will unfold all summer long, teasing a “celebrity muse” who will be revealed at the launch of the brand in August. As for the line itself, well, here are a few facts about what we can expect from the Material Girl line of clothing:

“Material Girl” is a newly created fast-fashion junior’s collection that will launch exclusively in 200 Macy’s stores and online at www.macys.com on August 3, 2010 for the back-to-school season.

“Material Girl” will be sold exclusively at Macy’s.

The “Material Girl” collection was inspired and designed in collaboration with Madonna and her daughter Lola, along with Iconix Brand Group’s in-house fashion department.

The “Material Girl” collection consists of the following categories: apparel, footwear, handbags and jewelry.

The collection will retail from $12.00 to $40.00.

The “Material Girl” is a spontaneous and fearless individual who invents her own fashion trends and is never afraid to make a bold, creative statement. She is influenced by her eclectic taste in music, dance and Hollywood.

This season, Fall 2010, the “Material Girl” is all about prints and embellishments in the newest silhouettes. She mixes hard and soft elements, like a tutu dress and studded combat boots, or an oversized boyfriend sweatshirt with a floral print mini skirt. It’s all about self-expression and playing with layering.

“Material Girl” this fall is never about just one piece but how you wear it all together to make a unique outfit. Piling on the layers allows you to create to a look that is different from what anyone else would wear.

Now, earlier today we got our first look at Britney Spears‘s new clothing line Britney for Candie’s: The Limited Edition Collection so it looks like she and Madonna‘s Material Girl line will be going head to head in the battle for YOUR money this Fall (and, interestingly enough, Iconix Brand is working to manufacture both lines). We’ll have to wait and see what the Material Girl clothes will look like but I’m certain Maddy is gonna bring it like she always does. Any early guesses which fashion line will come out on top?

The TV Guide
A Whole New ‘World Of Color’

Yesterday afternoon, David and I make the 40 minute trek down to Anaheim, CA to spend the evening/night at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure so that we could finally see the new nighttime attraction World of Color which opened to the public last week. David and I, both proud annual pass cardholders, do our best to get down to Disney as much as possible and we were so due for a trip:

We spent the first part of our evening at Disneyland (because it closed earlier than California Adventure did last night) and we had a blast. I donned my 55th Anniversary Limited Edition Mickey Mouse Ears and we ran amok thruout the park, hitting up our fave rides. Then we made our way to California Adventure for the World of Color show. After the jump, check out some of the amazing photos I snapped of the show last night …

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Premieres In Hollywood

Pretty much everyone and their mother (literally) was at LA Live in downtown LA last night for the Hollywood (and LA Film Festival) premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Not only was pretty much ever actor even remotely associated with the Twilight films in the hiz last night but so, too, were hordes of fans who had camped out for DAYS just to get tickets to attend last night’s premiere. Here are photos of Twilight stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (currently on the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine) on the red carpet last night and some deets from the event:

Monica Siegel and her two friends dropped a total of $2,500 and flew hundreds of miles to camp out for four days on a patch of sidewalk in downtown Los Angeles with the hope that they might see one of the heartthrob stars of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Their gamble paid off — and then some. Siegel, 22, of Fennville, Mich., was giddy with excitement after she not only nabbed a prime spot near the red carpet to swoon over the movie’s stars, but also was one of just a few dozen selected to take in the film inside with the stars of the blockbuster vampire series. “It’s completely worth every bit of it,” Siegel said after learning she had scored the premiere seats. “I’m freaking out!” Siegel said the entire experience was great but the best part was seeing the movie with the people who made it. “Kristen (Stewart) was amazing. She actually talked with us and paid attention to what we were saying instead of rushing by. The whole night is one big, happy memory,” Siegel said. Siegel, 21-year-old Amanda Willis of Dallas, and 25-year-old Melissa Moorhead of Seattle were among thousands of so-called “Twi-hards” who had flocked to the Nokia Theatre at the L.A. Live entertainment complex since early this week, camping out in a specially designated tent city for a fleeting glimpse of stars such as Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Up to 9,000 people were issued wristbands for a chance to see the film. At least 550 early birds, like Siegel, were ensured a spot along the red carpet, which was black for the occasion. Celebrities working their way down the carpet before the premiere were swarmed with screaming, frantic fans. Stewart, who plays Bella, took the fandemonium in stride. “It’s really only seemingly crazy when the movies come out, and you want that. I usually live a normal life,” Stewart said. Lautner, who plays werewolf Jacob, was asked if he ever wished he was less popular. “I don’t think I’m popular. I think it’s the character,” Lautner said. “I’m grateful to be here, and I’m grateful for the fans.” Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward, said of the frenzy: “I tune it all out ’til later. You get used to it, but it’s still a struggle.” Dakota Fanning, who plays the vampire Jane, said she was amazed by the fan presence — even in comparison with what she has seen in her own childhood acting career. “It’s really exciting. I don’t think I’ll ever be part of something like this for the rest of my life,” she said. “It’s really kind of surreal.” AEG, which owns L.A. Live and distributed the premiere wristbands with Summit Entertainment, screened “New Moon” for fans Tuesday night. On Wednesday, the film’s actors, Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, Julia James and Jackson Rathbone, distributed hamburgers, CDs and makeup in the tent city. “It’s not very often in this business that you get to come out here and do something like this,” Burke said. “The fans of these movies are so gracious and lovely. It’s great to do anything we can.” Stephanie Tregea, 19, drove 500 miles from Upper Lake, in Northern California, to attend the premiere. She wore a black T-shirt that said “Team Carlisle,” and held a sign that read: “My cat died while I’ve been in line. (Peter, comfort me during this sadness).” It got her an extended embrace from Facinelli, who plays Cullen patriarch Carlisle. Tregea said she is concerned about a Twilight jinx, because her dog died as she waited in line for the “New Moon” premiere last year. She debated not seeing the next installment. “It’s been hectic and stressful because there’s a lot of people,” said Tregea, who alternated camping out with sleeping in a hotel room shared with two friends. Amanda Belcher, 27, a mom from Scranton, Pa., who took a week off work at a public affairs agency to camp out for the premiere, said the experience was worth it. “It’s a great way to bring people together,” Belcher said. “It’s like intense friendship building.”

Dang, that’s devotion. I only camped out over night once (in an alley in downtown Detroit for tix to a tiny Tori Amos club show at my fave Detroit venue St. Andrew’s Hall back in 1998) but I think I can appreciate the devotion felt by these fans. Thousands of people waited countless hours in line yesterday just to buy an iPhone 4 … fans are fans, and we are all fans of something. I’m just glad to hear that these kids (and moms) who camped out for so long managed to be successful in their endeavor to get up close to their fave Twilight stars. And speaking of … check out some photos of some of the celebs who walked the red carpet last night, after the jump …

Sucker
Lindsay Lohan SCRAMS, Sucks

Lindsay Lohan stepped out for a night on the town last night hittin’ up the new Hollywood hot spot Voyeur in West Hollywood, CA. As she exited the club, she was snapped suckin’ on a lollipop like it was nobody’s business:

Have you ever seen someone suck on a lollipop with such controlled seriousness before? I mean … geeze. While L. Lo was happy to show off her sucking skills, she was feeling a bit shy in the court-ordered SCRAM alcohol-monitoring bracelet department so she tried to keep her accessory under wraps. Just a regular Thursday night for our dear Lindsay.

The big 3 grace another cover of 'EW' mag
The ‘Twilight’ Trinity Does ‘Entertainment Weekly’ Magazine . . . Again

Back in November of 2009, on the eve of the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the principal stars of The Twilight Saga movie franchise — Kirsten Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — graced the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine. This week, on the eve of the release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the Twilight Trinity again grace the cover of EW mag … but this time, they get 2 different covers … that they have to share:

As the highly-anticipated Twilight Saga: Eclipse prepares to descend on theaters June 30, stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner get together in L.A. for a frank discussion about the roles they play within the Twilight universe — both on screen and off. They also open up about their Oprah appearance, staying fit, and what it took to film a climactic scene in Eclipse, in which the three characters are forced to wait out a blizzard in incredibly close proximity.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: One scene fans have been dying to see takes place in the tent during the snowstorm. Jacob warms up Bella with his body because Edward is cold-blooded and can’t do it himself.
LAUTNER: The tent scene is probably my favorite, because it’s the first time Edward and Jacob are actually able to connect and understand each other.

EW: How many takes did you go through to get that scene?
LAUTNER: Two days originally to film it, and then a full day of reshoots.

EW: Why?
PATTINSON: [The director] wanted it to be more erotic. Seriously.
STEWART: It’s true. In the book there’s a serious sexual tension. As I’m sleeping, Jacob is staring over my vulnerable body, and he’s naked in this fucking sleeping bag because you heat up faster that way, and Jacob and Edward are leveling with each other.

EW: Taylor, you and Rob have some pretty serious confrontations in this movie.
LAUTNER: Some of those scenes were pretty hard for me. I think we ruined a couple of takes in front of the house and in the tent. It’s just, I don’t know, I have a hard time looking at him…
STEWART: Ha! “I have such a hard time looking at him”!
LAUTNER: [Laughs] I wasn’t finished. He and I were this close to each other — we are literally, like, an inch away — and we’re screaming at each other.
STEWART: And about to kiss…
LAUTNER: A couple of moments it felt like that.
PATTINSON: Every single time we had to do a threatening thing to each other — for one thing, you always have your shirt off, and so in the tent scene I literally grabbed your breast. And it’s very difficult to remain in the moment. Also, in that tent scene, I can’t really get over the fact that the word thought sounds like fart.
STEWART: The word thought does not sound like fart.
PATTINSON: It does.
STEWART: Maybe because you are an English person.
PATTINSON: The opening line of that scene is “Can you at least keep your farts to yourself?” I couldn’t quite get over that.

The full EW interview can be read in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly which is on newsstands NOW! After the jump, check out a photo of the big 3 that is featured inside the mag …
