Yesterday we saw a photo from the prep work going on at the Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Washington DC for the exhibit that will pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson on the anniversary of his death tomorrow and today we get to see photos from the Madam Tussaud’s exhibit in NYC that will pay homage to the late King of Pop as well:

We learned yesterday that all nine Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museums around the world will pay tribute to MJ so if there is a museum near you, you can make your way there tomorrow to pay your respects. Additionally, a new line of Michael Jackson candles have become available so that you can remember MJ and then burn his head in the privacy of your own home:

TMZ is reporting that the first fans have started showing up at Forest Lawn Cemetery to be near MJ‘s final resting place for tomorrow’s anniversary. It’s still hard to believe it’s been a year since Michael Jackson died. How will YOU be marking the first anniversary of MJ‘s death tomorrow?

Madonna got herself all dolled up in a slick suit for the Diane von Furstenberg & Claridge’s launch party at Claridge’s Hotel in London, England last night and, if I do say so myself, she looked pretty swanky in her stylish outfit:

As you may recall, earlier today we got to check out the first sketches from Maddy‘s new Material Girl clothing line for juniors so this more mature look is a stark contrast. It’s a good look for her, I think. Do you like?

Kelis and her baby boy Knight Rogers, who was born back in July of last year, stepped out here in SoCal together and made the cutest little couple:

I believe this is the first good look that we’ve gotten of little Knight since he was born last year. He is a cutie! Earlier today we saw adorable photos of SMG out with her daughter Charlotte Grace … who is about the same age as lil’ Knight here. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if they ended up together somewhere down the line? Considering how cute they each are now, they might make a great couple in the future ;)

M.I.A. who has recently appeared on the covers of NME, Complex and Nylon magazines is now featured in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine. As you might expect, M.I.A. discusses all the same sorts of things she’s been discussing in the other mags and features in yet another beautiful photospread. Here are a few photos and some excerpts from her chat with GQ:

M.I.A. is perhaps the preeminent global musical artist of the 2000s, a truly kick-ass singer and New York-Londony fashion icon, not to mention a vocal supporter of Sri Lanka’s embattled Tamil minority, of which she’s a member. Her father was a key player in the Tamil separatist movement, and his links to the Tamil Tigers would later contribute to Maya’s rep as a terrorist sympathizer. She also has a 1-year-old son and a third album on the way. When asked about the new rec­ord, Cassette Playa (real name: Carri Munden) says simply, “It’s sick.” Shopping with Maya is fun. “I like this Sade hat … That doesn’t suit me … My head’s too small.” She’s wearing a vintage Louis Vuitton sweatshirt, black tights, and ankle boots, looking disarmingly hipster-suburban. Her moods vary from slightly pissed off to go-fuck-yourself-already, but today she’s bubbly and engaged, doing a sexy-tired southern-ingénue walk. From her song “Hombre”: My hips do the flicks as I walk, yeah. We work our way through reams of ’70s and ’80s shit that reminds me of my own immigrant past. (My parents and I emigrated from the former Soviet Union in 1979.) Taupe-colored “refugee coats.” EZ Spirit. Focus 2000. A Gitano denim coat. We get on the trendy subject of avoiding meat, and Maya says, “What are you gonna do, you know? We don’t have the luxury to even think about being vegetarians or meat eaters. We’re refugees. We’ve been dealing with normal shit, like how to stay alive.” I think to myself, The refugee is strong in this one. She buys a king’s ransom of thrift for $178.72 but still hasn’t found her perfect wedding dress. “I’ve always wanted to get married in a white suit,” she says. “I used to work at a Kodak lab in England, cutting photos after they’d come out of the wash, and in one I saw this couple getting married on a beach in white suits, and their kid was there.”

Lindsay Lohan, who hasn’t spent a quiet night in since she was fitted with her court-ordered SCRAM alcohol-monitoring bracelet a few weeks ago, was out and about on the town here in SoCal yesterday lookin’ like a girl on a mission. First she was spotted with her younger sister Aliana Ali Lohan at Shamrock Tattoo on Sunset Blvd. in LA yesterday reportedly in the market for a new tattoo:

I understand Lindsay was taken back into a private room so it’s not totally clear if she actually got any tattoo work done nor do we know where on her body she might’ve gotten inked. I suppose we’ll have to watch her official Twitter account for any official confirmations should she deign to share with all of us.

Yesterday was a pretty damn fun day for me … after the FedEx man made my day early yesterday morning with the delivery of my shiny, new iPhone 4 (which allowed me to miss out on all of THIS fun), David and I enjoyed a really great night at the movies together. But, before we made our way out to the ArcLight Theater in Pasadena, CA, I got to chat for a bit with my BFF Sarah and her boyfriend Mark using the FaceTime video chat function of our new iPhone 4 phones:

It was so fun getting to see Sarah and Mark as we chatted (despite how unhappy I look in the screenshot above ;). Because Mark has yet to visit David me and me in LA, I was able to give him a short tour of our home using the FaceTime function. It worked seamlessly and flawlessly. I still want to use the phone for a few days before I write up my review but, thus far, I love the hell out of this phone.

After we all got to chat, David and I made the trek to Pasadena to see one of my fave movies ever on the big screen … for the first time since it originally showed in theaters back in 1995. I can’t even tell you how much I love Clueless:

I did my best to not recite the lines with the movie but … well, I kinda had to say my fave lines. I SO love how Clueless (and other movies from ’95) stand as such awesome time capsules from the mid-90′s. The clothes, the slang, the references … it’s just a great movie. David got a kick out of the shout out to Nine Inch Nails, I just loved seeing my fave film on the big screen again after so many years. I was so happy that they showed the actual film and not just a DVD (as some theaters do when they screen older movies). We had a blast.

Today … we are going to Disneyland! David and I have been talking about going back to Disney and we decided today would be the day. Not sure when we’re gettin’ down there but we are anxious to see the new World of Color show they got going on at California Adventure. Should be fun … wee!

Last month we got to check out the preview trailer for the upcoming second season of the HBO series Hung and last night, at the Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios lot, stars of the show convened to officially premiere the second season. As I’ve mentioned before, I am a HUGE fan of Hung and I am really looking forward to a second season of the show. To be honest, I think my fave thing about the show is that it is set and FILMED in my beloved Detroit metropolitan area. To see parts of the city that I love so much featured on a fantastic show week after week is such a treat for me. But, that is not to take away from the show itself … the writing is fantastic and the characters are just amazing. I’ve never been a big Thomas Jane fan but he has won me over entirely with Hung. New eps of the series premiere this Sunday night. I cannot wait!!

With the anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s death quickly approaching (just 2 days away) there is a lot of MJ talk going around … including news of an upcoming auction scheduled for later this year where unreleased photos of MJ shot by French photographer Arno Bani will go on the auction block. The photos were originally snapped to promote MJ‘s album Invincible but were apparently never released … and now they are up for sale:

Early December 2010, Pierre Bergé & Associés will organize an exceptional auction of Michael Jackson’s unpublished portraits. These photographs of the pop king are the result of an extraordinary adventure lived by a young French photographer, Arno Bani, to whom the star exceptionally entrusted his image. Arno Bani, entirely free in the production of this session, created 4 different artistic scénarii and chose the greatest fashion professionals to work with him: Yves Saint Laurent, François Lesage, Topolino, Seb Bascle, Frédérique Lorca and Maïda, etc. During this sale, 12 unique and never disclosed portraits, numbered 1 of 1, as well as the contact boards of this photography session, among which those selected by Michael Jackson himself, will be presented for auction. This auction, organized by Pierre Bergé & Associés, will undoubtedly give rise to considerable interest among the collectors but also the fans of the pop star. The catalog of this sale will be available from October in co-edition with Editions du Chêne – Hachette Group, and distributed internationally. Furthermore, a luxury box including a photograph from this session will be proposed in limited edition.

I mean … this photo, which is among the photos up for sale, is kinda cool but not really all that inventive. It is kinda neat to see MJ in a bit of a different light but I can’t say that I see the appeal of spending gads of money to own these original photographs. That being said, I’ve been known to spend far too much money on collectibles that I adore and others might have no interest in … so far be it for me to besmirch someone else’s desire to own exclusive one-of-a-kind collectibles. I doubt any of y’all will be participating in the auction to own these photos but what is your opinion of this photo over all?

It’s been a few months since we’ve seen new mom Sarah Michelle Gellar out and about with her baby girl Charlotte Grace but today we get to see a couple of absolutely adorable photos of mother and daughter out for lunch here in SoCal this week. When last we saw Charlotte Grace, she was still a wee little thing getting pushed around in her stroller … but in these new photos, we see that she has grown into such a big girl already:

Sarah Michelle Gellar took her beautiful baby, Charlotte Prinze, out for lunch in Los Angeles yesterday. The Buffy star, who was dressed casually in black leggings, a cardigan and sneakers was joined by her mother. Looking slim and fit it’s hard to believe Gellar gave birth just nine months ago. Charlotte is the first child for the 33-year-old actress and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. Earlier this year Prinze told U.S. talk show host George Lopez that the couple are still adjusting to parenthood. ‘I just tried to work the car seat,’ he said. ‘You gotta, like, adjust the seatbelts. Adjusting the seatbelt is so much more complicated than my brain can handle.’ Prinze and Gellar met during the filming of the 1997 teen horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer, but did not actually begin dating until 2000.

Wow … has it been 9 months already since Charlotte Grace was born? WTF?! It’s just … insane. But OY! has she grown into such a cute little girl. She looks so precious … I absolutely love that Buffy SMG is a mom. These pics are to die … LOVE them.
