We are just a couple days away from the 1 year anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson and while MJ‘s family are lookin’ to get back in the spotlight (by any means necessary), others are preparing to pay tribute to the late King of Pop in their own way. Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Washington DC is but one of the many locations that will be paying tribute to MJ on the anniversary of his death. In preparation for a spectacular worldwide tribute at each of its sibling attractions, just two days before the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s tragic death, Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. studio artists will position Jackson’s wax figure in the attraction’s lobby, touch up the figure’s make-up, style its hair and prepare its outfit, for a special Michael Jackson Tribute Exhibit on Wednesday, June 23 from 11 a.m. – Noon at 1001 F Street, NW (10th & F Streets NW), Washington D.C. Madame Tussauds D.C. joins all nine Madame Tussauds attractions worldwide – from Shanghai to New York – in paying tribute to Jackson, whose untimely passing June 25 of last year shocked the world. Each attraction will create its own tribute exhibit. Madame Tussauds D.C.’s exhibit will be free to the public, so that Washingtonians and visiting passersby alike will have a chance to be close to the “King of Pop” once again. During the tribute fans will be able to pay their respects, take photos with his wax likeness and lay flowers at his feet. Jackson was an active and enthusiastic participant in the creation of his wax figure, which features the “King of Pop” singing with microphone in-hand, wearing an all-black outfit reminiscent of the one he is seen wearing on his Bad album cover. The tribute exhibit will be on display until July 23. With more than 750 million album sales, Jackson is one of the most revered artists in the world. His iconic music inspired millions of people and multiple generations of artists and performers.

The tributes to MJ‘s memory will run the gamut from the classy to the tacky, from the very public to the very private. It’s kinda crazy to think that a year has passed already since Michael suddenly and sadly passed away. Even tho I’m not the biggest MJ fan, I can still appreciate his impact on the world of pop culture. He is still missed … and I hope that people will remember to be as respectful as possible of his memory as we all mourn, once again, the loss of a legend.

Last month we saw a batch of promo photos of supermodel and new mom Gisele Bündchen showing off her sick body in Hope lingerie and today we get to see her showing off said sick body in Calzedonia swimwear. Now, it’s not really anything special to see Gisele looking so perfect but this photo from the Calzedonia Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign was shot back in February … 2 months after she gave birth to her baby boy Benjamin Rein!

It was a little more than a week ago that Gisele Bündchen took to the runway for the first time since giving birth in December, flaunting her flawless post-baby figure during Sao Paolo Fashion Week. But it turns out that the new mother had gotten her famously flawless figure back long before then: Just-released images from Calzedonia’s Spring/Summer 2011 swimwear campaign–which was shot in February, according to InStyle.com–feature the 29-year-old supermodel showing off her picture-perfect physique in a tiny string bikini–a mere two months after giving birth to baby Benjamin! Donning a jewel-encrusted swimsuit from the Italian beachwear label, the Brazilian beauty was back in tip-top form posing for the camera on a tropical beach. With her new family in order, it seems as if the supermodel’s career is still on fire.

Geeze, Louise … she looks amazing! As you may recall, earlier today we got to see photos of Gisele and hubby Tom Brady at a christening ceremony for their baby boy this week and she was lookin’ pretty good in those pics but … yeah, she looks fantastic in these pics. Gisele should be mostly nekkid all the time … it seems a crime to cover up such natural beauty with so many clothes.

Earlier today when I posted the photo of Jermaine Jackson arriving at Forest Lawn Cemetery so that he could be interviewed by Larry King to mark the anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s death this Friday Pink reader Katie gave me the heads up that Jermaine‘s wasn’t the only Jackson looking for a little attention this week. La Toya Jackson, MJ‘s older sister, was followed by Animal Planet cameras on a visit to the animal sanctuary that has been taking care of MJ‘s pet Bubbles the Chimpanzee. La Toya seemed very excited to see Bubbles … Bubbles, on the other hand, seemed far from impressed with her:

Nearing the anniversary of her brother’s death on Friday, LaToya Jackson had an emotional reunion with Michael’s former pet Bubbles the chimpanzee. As part of an Animal Planet documentary, she visited the ape at his Florida sanctuary. On her way there, LaToya confessed that she was ‘really looking forward to seeing Bubbles, more than anything else’. Michael’s big sister claimed that she hadn’t seen Bubbles for ’20 something years’ and her excitement was palpable. Unfortunately, Bubbles’ enthusiasm at the long-awaited reunion didn’t match LaToya’s and he remained pretty stoic as he gazed sadly from behind bars. LaToya, 54, said the chimp used to ‘eat at the table with us’ and told how he used to walk to the fridge and help himself to his favourite treat – Haagen-Dazs ice cream. As she hosed him down with water, the singer reminisced that it was just like old days, when Bubbles used to have his own bathroom and regularly take showers. Things turned emotional for LaToya though as she shared a little one on one time with the chimp. A teary Jackson told Bubbles: ‘I miss you – I haven’t seen you in ages.’ Michael Jackson adopted the ape from a Texas research facility in the early eighties. Bubbles slept in a crib in Jackson’s bedroom, shared the singer’s toilet and ate sweets in the Neverland movie theatre. For a time, Jackson took the chimp everywhere with him, even travelling to Japan with him and taking him along to afternoon tea with a Japanese mayor. Unfortunately for Bubbles though his lavish lifestyle was brought to a grinding halt when he grew too large, and aggressive, for Jackson to handle. In 2003, his pet was carted off to a California animal sanctuary where he became so depressed he reportedly attempted suicide. When the sanctuary closed in 2004, Bubbles was taken to his current home, the Center for Great Apes, in Wauchula, Florida.

Now … I’m sorry … but … I do not believe for one second that La Toya would truly recognize Bubbles from any other chimp in that sanctuary. I know it makes for good TV to have a tearful reunion (especially for Animal Planet who could use the ratings) but seems to me like nothing but a reason for publicity on La Toya‘s part. Wee!! At last, my shiny beautiful new iPhone 4 arrived! I’ve been so preoccupied with my new toy that I’ve had a hard time focusing on anything else. But at last … the FedEx Santa Claus knocked on my door and delivered my new baby:

I’ve been spending way too much time playing with, setting up and outright marveling at this glorious piece of technological beauty. I’ll need to play with it and use it for a few days before I can write up a full review but my right-out-of-the-box first impression is — WOW! The screen, wait ’til you see the screen resolution … it will blow you away. I’m curious about the battery life so … stay tuned for my full remarks on the new iPhone 4.

Tonight, David and I will be trekking to the ArcLight Theater in Pasadena, CA to see a screening of the amazing 1995 film Clueless:

My close friends know that the ’95 films Clueless, Empire Records and The Craft have all had a profound impact on me … if you get those films, you get me. I’ve not seen any of these films in the theater since they were released in ’95 so I am very excited to see one of my fave films on the Big Screen again. So excited … about the phone and the movie. Today is going to be a really great day :D

Back in February we learned the horrifying news that MTV‘s Jersey Shore star Mike The Situation Sorrentino was planning the release of his own celebrity fragrance called The Sitch and today we learn the even MORE horrifying news that he is also planning the release of his very own clothing line … like, for reals! Here are the scary deets:

Park it Ed Hardy, this summer it’s all about Abercrombie and The Sitch. Reality star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino will soon be assaulting the racks of your favorite retailers with a line of obnoxious and craptacular fashions. Sorrentino has teamed up with Big Apple-based “couture” house Dilligaf (AKA: Does It Look Like I Give A….) to debut his Situation clothing line just in time for next month’s Jersey Shore Season 2 premiere. We haven’t spied any sketches of Mike’s work yet, but if his designing skills are anything like his rapping prowess (or lack thereof), this could be the most chuckle-worthy story to hit the blogosphere since Heidi Montag auditioned for Transformers.

Dear baby Jebus in Heaven … as if the world doesn’t have enough to deal with from the horrid fashions puked out by Christian Audigier and his Ed Hardy line, now we have to worry about garbage coming from The Situation? Newlyishweds Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady got themselves all dolled up this week for the christening of their first born child together Benjamin Rein (who was born back in December of last year). As you may recall, it was in March that we first saw the happy Brady Bündch family all dolled up in their Sunday best for Gisele‘s sister’s wedding in Brazil … but this time, the fam is lookin’ all dressy for a more private family occasion here at home:

It is INSANE how quickly time flies … baby Benjamin was *just* born and now he’s already been christened?! I know it won’t belong ’til the little kid is walking, then driving, then taking over the world as the most beautiful human being to have ever existed! Where does the time go? Congrats to the happy fam on this very special occasion … and blessings for the precious baby boy.

Lindsay Lohan had a very bizzy, very SCRAM-filled day yesterday. After a report started going around that L. Lo would be posing nude, wearing nothing but her court-ordered alcohol-monitoring SCRAM bracelet, Lindsay took to Twitter to deny that any such nude photoshoot would be taking place. While she was on Twitter, she also decided to tweet her displeasure for last night’s episode of Bravo TV‘s new series Double Exposure which she claims featured her on their show to purposely set her up to paint her in a negative light. Oh and she ran out for pizza, too. All in a day’s work for our dear L. Lo:

Lindsay Lohan has dismissed reports she will appear wearing nothing but her alcohol-monitoring bracelet in a naked photoshoot for her fashion line. The “Mean Girls” star was rumored to be stripping off for a scandalous new promotional campaign to advertise the release of her 6126 line of handbags. Lohan is currently under a judge’s order to wear a SCRAM device to prevent her taking drugs or drinking alcohol, and reports suggested the bracelet would be the only item the actress would wear during the shoot. But Lohan has refuted the claims. In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, “Can’t wait for 6126 handbags! Loving chatter about new collection. …contrary to rumours, I’ll be fully clothed for the campaign! Stay tuned!!”

Whew! With all this drama going on, it’s no wonder Lindsay and her little sister Aliana Ali Lohan ran out for pizza yesterday afternoon. But, you know, this is just all par for the course where L. Lo is concerned. Thank goodness for #twitter … cuz, YES, the truth can be stated!!!!!
