This time, the ladies will get schooled
‘RuPaul’s Drag U’ Announces A Premiere Date

Earlier this month we got to see video of RuPaul introducing his upcoming new LOGO TV show RuPaul’s Drag U and today we find out when the series will hit the airwaves! LOGO just released a press announcement about the show and we can now circle Monday July 19 in our calendars as the day we go back to school with RuPaul … and get this — Drag U will NOT be for men, it’ll be for women:

Why should men have all the fun? And who says drag is just for drag queens? This summer, RuPaul is pulling back the sequined curtain to provide a very special education to a few lucky biological women with “RuPaul’s Drag U,” premiering on Logo Monday, July 19 at 9/8c. “RuPaul’s Drag U” will take an incoming class of beauty-starved, confidence-drained women and teach them the essential elements of sexiness, sass and spunk that have long been the calling cards of every great drag queen. The students at “RuPaul’s Drag U” arrive in groups of 3 each week, representing a different spectrum of today’s modern woman such as: the blue-collar tomboy, full-figured gal or overworked mom — to 70’s TV Star. At orientation, the ladies are put through “The Dragulator” – a highly advanced piece of machinery that will reveal the ladies’ full drag potential. Next, they are paired with a carefully selected drag faculty mentor who’ll be responsible for helping the women achieve their drag dreams through an outrageous lesson plan that will challenge them inside and out. The heart-stopping drag transformations are unveiled at the culmination of each episode in a musical performance before an audience of family, friends and the judges’ panel. The judges assign each student a D.P.A. (Drag Point Average) based on their live performance and overall transformation. Only one woman will be declared the valedictorian of each class, but all students will “draguate” with a boost in confidence, self-respect, and a whole new take on the power of femininity. Providing instruction at the prestigious university are some of “RuPaul’s Drag Race’s” fan-favorites and most distinguished alumni, including Jujubee, Morgan McMichaels, Nina Flowers, Ongina, Pandora Boxx, Raven, Shannel, and Tammie Brown. Also lending a satin-gloved hand will be drag icon Lady Bunny as Dean of Drag, and Frank Gatson, the master choreographer behind Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” video, as the school’s Dean of Dance. As Headmaster, RuPaul will oversee each pupil’s individual progress and impart some of the invaluable life advice that only the World’s Most Famous Drag Queen can provide. The season will also feature celebrity visiting professors Debi Mazar, Chaka Khan, Jackee Harry, Kelly Osbourne, Kris Jenner, Meredith Baxter, Mia Tyler and Taylor Dayne. TV icons Dawn Wells, Charlene Tilton, and Erin Murphy enroll as students in the season finale.

Wow! I had no idea that RuPaul’s Drag U was going to feature female “contestants”. I had assumed that the show would be geared toward educating men on how to up their drag game … the fact that women will be getting style pointers from drag queens is kinda brilliant. RuPaul’s Drag U will be premiering on LOGO on July 19 … will you be tuning in?

This time for good?
Prince Harry & Chelsy Davy Are Dunzo . . . Again

News of the World, a publication not really known for their ace journalism, is reporting today that Prince Harry and his on-again-off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy have decided to end their 6-year relationship for good. Citing sources who claim to be friends with Davy, NOTW is reporting that Chelsy has decided to move permanently home to her home in South Africa to begin her legal career … far away from Harry and his royal duties. I mean, take this report with a grain of salt but … it is possible that Prince Harry and Chelsy are really dunzo this time!

PRINCE Harry and his long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy have SPLIT, the News of the World can reveal. Chelsy is moving to South Africa this week to begin a legal career and has told him they are OVER. The pair have had an on-and-off relationship for six years but friends say the spark has finally gone. Blonde Chelsy, 24, told friends yesterday: “We’re finished. This is a new beginning for me. I want to start my career in South Africa where I plan to spend the rest of my life. I don’t want to live in Britain.” Heiress Chelsy, who is originally from Zimbabwe, looked happy in a stunning red frock yesterday, right, as she drank champagne with best friend Bubble – Olivia Perry – and a pal at Royal Ascot. Bubble supported Chelsy when she and Harry, 25, had a trial separation in 2007. Chelsy sobbed her heart out to her last year too when she got tired of his playboy antics and dumped him. They have not been seen together in public since Harry got his helicopter pilot’s wings on May 7. An insider said: “It was a gradual end to the relationship. It whimpered out. It’s not practical with Harry’s commitments to the Army and his family to be in a relationship with someone in a different country. It was an obvious time for a clean break. The spark is gone and she’s focused on moving back to be where her heart lies.” Our source added: “She was distraught when they split last year but it’s different now. She knows she did everything to make it work” … The insider said: “They are still friends and will always have a special place for each other.”

I imagine it’s not very easy being in a romantic relationship with a prince so none of this — if true — surprises me. That being said, a couple that has been on/off for 6 years has a very good chance of being on again at some point down the line. After all, Prince William and his ladylove Kate Middleton have been on/off for many years as well and they are, once again, back on and rumored to be ready to move in together. While Harry and Chelsy may be dunzo for now, I suspect they’ll find their way back to one another at some point. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

UPDATE: US Weekly is reporting that Harry and Chelsy aren’t dunzo quite yet … but, I still suspect they will be cooling off for a while before they get back together together again.

The 'Story' ain't over just yet
‘Toy Story 3.5’ Is On The Way

Toy Story 3 opened to big numbers at the box office this weekend to almost unilateral praise for the closing chapter in the Toy Story saga. But today, we are learning that the Story story is not yet completely over. Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich tells MSN that Toy Story 3.5 (an animated short, NOT a feature length film) will be released in front of Pixar‘s next film Cars 2 next year. It turns out that we have not yet seen the last of our beloved Toy Story characters:

Finally, I have to ask Unkrich: “Toy Story 3″ does a great job of bringing the series back home and closing the tale of Woody and Buzz off, but, at the same time, as long as money is still green and can be used to buy things, there’s the possibility that “Toy Story 4″ might be seen as a good idea someday. Did Unkrich, I ask, deliberately want to close things off with “Toy Story 3,” to put the toys away for good? “Well, I really tried my best to end the story of Andy and his toys and bring that story to a close in a really nice way at the end of this film. That being said, we know that people love the characters, love Woody and Buzz, and would hate to say good-bye to them completely. I don’t know that there would ever be a ‘[Toy Story] 4.’ We don’t have any plans for one — but we are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive. We have announced we’re going to do a short film in front of ‘Cars 2′ that uses the ‘Toy Story’ characters. We’re going to keep them alive; they’re not going away forever.”

You know, to be honest … not only am I looking forward to Toy Story 3.5 (even if I have to endure Cars 2 to see it) but I hope somewhere down they line (in maybe 10 years) they do decide to make a Toy Story 4, 5 & 6. There is something about these toys that seem like classic Disney characters to me. Like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, they should live on forever in the imaginations of children — and adults alike. Pixar has done such an incredible job of making these characters so lovable that it’s not hard to feel genuine emotion for them. Yes, that emotion very likely comes from ones own love and attachment to the toys they love (or loved) as children but therein lies the genius. I absolutely feel that Toy Story 3 is a great ending to an amazing trilogy … but I’m so down with one more mini-tale involving these beloved characters. What do y’all think … are you looking forward to seeing a Toy Story 3.5 or do you think it’s just overkill at this point?

Selects one of Lindsay Lohan's fave rehab centers
Chris Klein Checks Into Rehab

Actor Chris Klein, who was just busted here in LA last week for his second DUI arrest, has decided to check himself into rehab to help him battle his addictions. Klein‘s press rep released a statement to People magazine explaining the decision to voluntarily check into rehab (which, I suspect, may help his legal case and may keep him out of jail). It turns out that Klein decided to check into the Cirque Lodge in Orem, Utah … which, it turns out, is the rehab facility that Lindsay Lohan checked herself into back in 2007 following her DUI bust. Considering L. Lo‘s “success” since receiving treatment at the Cirque Lodge, well, I don’t really have much faith in this particular rehab facility:

Following his second alcohol related arrest, actor Chris Klein has voluntarily checked himself into rehab. “After recent events, Chris was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with himself for years. He understands now that he can not beat this disease alone,” his rep Jaime Primak tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “He thanks everyone for their support as he takes all the necessary steps to deal with his addiction and asks for privacy while doing so.” The actor is seeking treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah where he will complete a 30 day alcohol addiction program and has plans to stay longer if need be.

I wish I could believe that this stint in rehab was being done for the right reasons — and perhaps it truly is — but this really smells like a scheme to win favor with the court in order to avoid jailtime. Lindsay Lohan pulled this same scheme back in 2007 … she went to Cirque Lodge, the judge decided not to jail her … cut to a few years later and homegirl is still dealing with the effects of her addictions. It may be different this time but, I dunno, it’s just hard for me to believe this is a genuine attempt on Klein‘s part to honestly rehabilitate himself. Even still, I wish him the best and hope he does clean his act up … for his own good.
