It seemed like the 12-week lead-up to True Blood season 3 would take forever … but here we are … the campaign is dunzo and all that’s left is a few hours ’til the new season gets underway. We made it … we are almost there!!

Yesterday we got our first taste of the new Disney film Tangled (the film formerly titled Rapunzel) and today we get to check out a longer, more substantial teaser trailer for the film. As you may know, Tangled is the 50th animated feature from the Walt Disney Co. and retells the classic story of Rapunzel from a more boy-friendly swashbuckling point of view. Here are a few screencaps from this new teaser trailer:

The movie looks cute … as I said, whether Disney thinks they are appealing to boys more than girls, I think it will do very well with families of all kinds. After the jump, check out the trailer in full …

A week ago today we got our first look at the official costume concept art for the new Marvel Films movie Thor (due out in theaters next year) and today we get to check out a video featurette from the set of Thor which aired on Entertainment Tonight last night. ET talked with the film’s stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) and gives us our first look at Sir Anthony Hopkins as Nordic god Odin … here are a few screencaps:

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

OMG … I am SO loving this. I am a pretty big Thor fan (both the god and the comic book character) so I am really hoping this movie does him justice. It’s a bit strange to see Hemsworth as Thor without his winged helmet mainly because he has got a lot of blonde going on. Still … I’m very excited to see more. Last weekend we learned that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford got busted for pot possession in his homestate of Texas and today TMZ reports that homeboy is being officially charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. It looks like the authorities in Texas are interested in making an example of dear, sweet Chace:

TMZ has learned “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford has now been charged with one misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. TMZ broke the story … Crawford was arrested in Plano, Texas last Friday after cops found an unlit joint in a car he was sitting in with a friend. If convicted, Crawford faces a maximum of six months behind bars.

Whether Texas wants to make an example of Chace Crawford or not, I cannot for the life of me see the boy going to jail for 6 months. If convicted, he may see the inside of a jail cell but even that seems highly unlikely to me. That being said, I do know that Texas is not playing around when it comes to law enforcement … I understand they have the highest execution rate in the country. So … yeah … Chace might be seriously bummin’ if this misdemeanor charge turns into a conviction.

Yesterday was a pretty quiet, stay in day for me … which was spent in large part in front of my MacBook Pro computer. I spent much of the day transferring my sizable iTunes library (290+ Gbs) from my PC to my Mac in order to sever my last ties to the world of PC computers. Oh … and I also spent some time upgrading my iPhone 3GS to the fancy new iPhone iOS4 software:

Let me assure you, the new iOS4 software upgrade is AMAZING! My phone feels like an entirely new device … the 100+ new functionality upgrades are just to die for. Folders … how in the hell did I survive for so long without having folders on my phone. David and I have been playing with the new iPhone software all day/night/morning long … so fun!!

Tonight, a bunch of us manly guys are getting together to see The A-Team together for a bromantic orgy of testosterone … it should be fun. I hope YOUR Friday is going well … Happy Weekend!!

Actress Megan Fox, who will NOT be featured in the just-announced Transformers 3, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Interview magazine. Altho the magazine’s site has not yet been updated, we get our first look at Megan in Interview magazine (lookin’ pretty damn cool, IMHO) courtesy of fansite Megan-Fox.net … behold:

Who said she was nuts? Megan Fox has revealed her thoughtful, sensitive side in Interview magazine’s latest issue, in which the star chats with, of all people, “The Hangover” funnyman Zach Galifianakis about the pressures of fame and how much her bad-girl image is a result of her own attempts at misdirection. The result is a surprisingly thoughtful portrait of a woman who has been pegged as, alternately, a brat, a lunatic or an ingrate throughout the years by the media. For example, Fox gives a reasonable explanation for her dislike for the paparazzi. “I don’t really resent being on the red carpet as much as I do having to deal with the paparazzi,” she says. “The photographers on the red carpet, that’s their job.” It’s a surprisingly levelheaded comment from someone who’d gone from the love interest in “Transformers 3″ to the villain of the production. Last month, Fox was dumped from Michael Bay’s film before shooting started. Nobody can seem to settle on an official reason (Bay says she’s too skinny; Fox says she quit voluntarily; most people think she was straight-up fired), but the second it was announced (Fox was replaced by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), everyone’s minds flashed back to an interview where Fox compared Bay as a director to dictators like Hitler and Napoleon. A mistake, she says, that doesn’t indicate her real demeanor. “In the past, I’ve been reluctant to share any bits of truth about myself or to really let people in on my reality,” Fox told Galifianakis. “So I have said some things to throw people off the scent of what’s really going on in my life. So I have sort of aided the media in printing these misconceptions, which I regret.” In any case, Fox won’t have to contend with the “Transformers” circus any longer. She’ll be appearing in this month’s “Jonah Hex” alongside Josh Brolin, and after that, it’s “Passion Play” with Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray. Her projects after that are unclear, although IMDB has her listed as rumored to play a mermaid in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” the fourth entry in Disney’s massively lucrative franchise. So just remember: If she releases a statement saying Johnny Depp is like Kim Jong Il on set, she doesn’t really mean it, people.

Plans are moving ahead to bring the third Transformers film to the big screen and today we learn that Transformers 3 will be filmed and presented in 3D (shock!). Additionally, it has been confirmed that the Decepticon character Shockwave (Megatron‘s #2 in command) will be the big villain for the film … read on:

“Transformers 3″ is currently in production and Michael Bay as well as Lorenzo di Bonaventura have provided some new details about the project. Met by USA Today on the film’s set, the two confirmed that the upcoming movie will be made in 3-D and Shockwave is the new enemy of Autobots and Sam Witwicky. Producer di Bonaventura went on spilling detail of the film, saying “Shia [LaBeouf] has this great line: ‘You know, I’ve saved the world twice, but I can’t get a job’.” The filmmakers additionally revealed that the third “Transformers” movie will feature a space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, with Bay adding “One thing we’re getting rid of is what I call the dorky comedy.” While some of the characters were resurrected in the previous films, di Bonaventura claimed the upcoming movie will let those who die stay dead. Meanwhile, director Bay promised this follow-up to “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” will give a killer ending for the trilogy, stating “This one really builds to a final crescendo. It’s not three multiple endings. As a trilogy, it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think it has a really killer ending” … While Shia LaBeouf will still portray Sam Witwicky, Megan Fox decided to skip “Transformers 3″. Speaking about his co-star’s departure, the actor said, “I love Megan and I miss the girl. But Sam and Mikaela became one character, and here … you have discovery again from a new perspective.” Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been tapped to be the new leading lady for this sci-fi movie, which is slated for July 1, 2011 release in the U.S. Patrick Dempsey has also been added to the cast ensemble of the film, while Josh Duhamel will reprise his role as Captain William Lennox.

To be honest, I’m kinda looking forward to seeing Transformers 3 in 3D … I know many of y’all are over the whole 3D phenomenon but I can’t get enough. If the film is filmed in 3D, it will look amazing … I’m excited. I’m also excited that Shockwave will be featured in the film. I owned and LOVED the Shockwave action figure from the 80′s:

The original Shockwave Transformers toy was a light-up laser gun … I loved it! I doubt that the new Shockwave will remain a laser gun because the movie versions of the characters have been changed considerably. All in all, this sounds like all good news to me. When you take into consideration that we won’t be forced to watch Megan Fox act in the third film and I’m SO sold. Any old skool Transformers fans out there … what do YOU think of this Transformers 3 news?
