TMZ has come upon a video shot of Miley Cyrus partying with Adam Shankman, the 44-year old director of her film The Last Song, last Summer at the movie’s wrap party. At a certain point in the festivities, Miley thought it would be fun to sit on Shankman‘s lap and give him a lapdance … and Shankman let her, laughing all the while:
Miley Cyrus felt more than the beat last summer as she got downright nasty on the dance floor with a slightly older gentleman during a wrap party for a movie … and TMZ has obtained the video. Miley — who was 16 at the time — was dancing with 44-year-old Adam Shankman during a wrap party last summer in Georgia for the movie, “The Last Song.” Shankman, who is openly gay, produced the movie as well as “Hairspray” and other flicks and is a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance?” The people who shot the video say they were offended by the dirty dancing — which included a graphic lap dance. We’re told Miley’s parents were not at the wrap party. Miley’s reps had no comment.
It should be made clear that Adam Shankman is a gay man so I highly doubt that any of this was sexual … BUT, that any 44-year old man would let a 16-year old girl grind on his crotch — whether jokingly or not — is just … gross. I’m not surprised at all to learn that the Cyrus parents were not in attendance at this wrap party but, to be honest, I doubt they would’ve stepped in to stop this “playing around” if they were there. I can actually envision mama Tish Cyrus dancing with them and pappa Billy Ray Cyrus clapping along, stomping his feet. Yeah … this is just … so wrong. Not only was Miley happy to rub her butt into Adam‘s crotch on the dancefloor, they had to move up against the wall to do it some more. Having chaperoned my fair share of high school dances in my day as a teacher, this kind of dancing is nothing new for 16 year olds … but usually they dance with kids their own age, not 44-year old men. I guess Miley‘s just a more mature 16-year old. My, my … don’t the wee kiddies grow up so fast?

I am so sick of everyone getting all up in arms over nothing. They are obviously co-workers and friends. Stop acting like this is a typical high-school girl and her gym teacher or something. Miley is 17 years old; that’s hardly a baby. This guy is openly gay, so obviously this isn’t a sex thing. This was at a private party, not something she’s putting out there to influence tween girls. Why is it gross, exactly? Would it be gross next year when she’s 18 and he’s 45? Trent, you used to be so cool and you’ve gotton so judgemental lately I can barely stand your blog anymore. @jaylinbee — I have always given my opinion on everything. Guess what, you’re prolly not going to agree with me on everything. But just becuase you don’t agree with my opinion does not make my voicing it wrong. If you don’t like what I have to say, then that’s on you. I will continue to voice my opinion on what I write about … it’s what I do and have been doing for the past 6 years. I’m dumbfounded how anyone can think it’s OK for a young girl to grind her butt on the crotch of a grown man … but if you are ok with it, then — again — that’s on you.
Of course you are free to state your opinions Trent, it’s your blog and I never meant to imply otherwise. I just meant that the tone of your blog has gotten so judgmental, that even when I do agree with you your attitude turns me off. You used to sort of celebrate the clebs you discuss (sometimes tongue in cheek), now, short of a few favs, you are constanty judging them. I just wondered what brought the change… oh well. @jaylinbee — I am sorry you no longer enjoy the blog because I still love writing it. I absolutely celebrate and like to have fun with the celebs I talk about … that’s why I talk about them. But there is no way I can “celebrate” for find any “fun” in a 16 year old girl grinding on a 44-year old man. It may sound judgmental but I just cannot find anything positive about such behavior. This video is the talk of the day, the topic of watercooler buzz … and my opinion is that it is inappropriate for a 44-year old man to be dancing with a child like this.
“They are obviously co-workers and friends” – yes but it is wrong to blur the line between professionalism and being overly friendly, in any career.
and really, i find it strange that a 45 year old man can be such good “friends” with a 16 year old, regardless of the fact he is gay. its unprofessional on HIS behalf just as much as it is hers. if she’s willing to be unprofessional with a gay coworker, i can only imagine how “friendly” she’d be willing to get with a hetero guy in the workplace.
