TMZ has come upon a video shot of Miley Cyrus partying with Adam Shankman, the 44-year old director of her film The Last Song, last Summer at the movie’s wrap party. At a certain point in the festivities, Miley thought it would be fun to sit on Shankman‘s lap and give him a lapdance … and Shankman let her, laughing all the while:
Miley Cyrus felt more than the beat last summer as she got downright nasty on the dance floor with a slightly older gentleman during a wrap party for a movie … and TMZ has obtained the video. Miley — who was 16 at the time — was dancing with 44-year-old Adam Shankman during a wrap party last summer in Georgia for the movie, “The Last Song.” Shankman, who is openly gay, produced the movie as well as “Hairspray” and other flicks and is a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance?” The people who shot the video say they were offended by the dirty dancing — which included a graphic lap dance. We’re told Miley’s parents were not at the wrap party. Miley’s reps had no comment.
It should be made clear that Adam Shankman is a gay man so I highly doubt that any of this was sexual … BUT, that any 44-year old man would let a 16-year old girl grind on his crotch — whether jokingly or not — is just … gross. I’m not surprised at all to learn that the Cyrus parents were not in attendance at this wrap party but, to be honest, I doubt they would’ve stepped in to stop this “playing around” if they were there. I can actually envision mama Tish Cyrus dancing with them and pappa Billy Ray Cyrus clapping along, stomping his feet. Yeah … this is just … so wrong. Not only was Miley happy to rub her butt into Adam‘s crotch on the dancefloor, they had to move up against the wall to do it some more. Having chaperoned my fair share of high school dances in my day as a teacher, this kind of dancing is nothing new for 16 year olds … but usually they dance with kids their own age, not 44-year old men. I guess Miley‘s just a more mature 16-year old. My, my … don’t the wee kiddies grow up so fast?

I have to say, I agree with Isabelle… I am *not* a Miley fan (at all), but I can remember in my single days going out with my GBFF and dancing with him in a highly inappropriate way that I wouldn’t have with other guys. Granted, I was in my twenties, but still there is a feeling of safety when you know your guy friend isn’t wanting to jump you. The age thing, yes it’s a gap, but she isn’t your average 16 year old either and like someone said, age is not relevant in the entertainment industry.
Also, that’s not a lapdance, he is not sitting down.
I live in GA and know someone who worked on the movie. Apparently, Miley was drunk before the party started so that probably explains her behavior. Also heard she was a complete brat!
And people give Taylor Momsen a hard time for wearing short skirts and having heavy black make up! LOL I mean taylor momsen is my celebrity crush but you gotta give her props for working so much on gossip girl and on her album… and all people can talk about is her attitude! but Miley does stuff like this and people are just like oh she’s just being Miley and everyone forgets about it in a week and back to making fun of Taylor Momsens eye make up! My guess is that Mileys next move will be doing air blowjobs adam lambert style as one of her dance moves while she’s on tour promoting her new album…

No, this is not the most appropriate thing I’ve ever seen; but it would have been legal for them to be having sex, and at least that wasn’t happening.
There is also gender discrimination here. When Daniel Radcliffe was 17 and openly discussing his many sexual partners not a peep was made. While girls mature faster than boys and a 17 year old boy is more like a 15 year old girl, can you imagine Miley saying she has had many sexual partners? What the reaction would be?
@Jennifer: you would chaperone your 16 year old to a party? Ew. Mid-late teens are a time of discovery. The time to make mistakes because you are young enough to recover, and old enough that the mistakes won’t scar your psyche the way they would at, say, 12.
I wouldn’t want my 16 year old grinding up against a 44 year old. Also, I wouldn’t want her smoking, or getting drunk, or smoking pot… or having sex… even safe sex… with anyone. But I’m a realist. Kids in their mid-late teens are going to be wild and crazy. For me, there is a difference between inappropriate and unsafe behavior. (A 16 year old getting drunk v. a 16 drunk driving; a 15 year old having safe sex v. a 15 year old having unprotected sex; a 17 year old smoking pot v. a 17 year old dealing pot.) While actions in the former category are undesirable, it really is the latter category that people ought to be concerned with. And this is a very minor instance of the former category
No offense but it doesn’t matter if the director is gay, straight, bi, purple, yellow. ..etc. Why should it be considered any more gross if he WASN’T gay? The point is he is the adult and it is disgusting that he would let an underage girl grind all over him, basically simulating sex. And I may be in my twenties but give me a break – this is NOT “NORMAL” teenage girl behavior, at least not for young girl who has healthy self-esteem and decent parents.

Wrong on so many levels…I’m a couple years older than her and we saw dancing like this at my prom. But like everyone else said…it was with people OUR OWN AGE. A 44-yr-old should know better. Just gross.

I think a major point is missing here. We hyper-sexualize famous people all the time in American society. I do think the behavior was highly inappropriate (and the man should have put a stop to it), but Miley is only trying to live up to the standards that so many young individuals are held to. Sex sells and she’s a young person trying to make it in show-biz. I can’t blame her; I really just feel sorry for her.
