Christina Aguilera, who was set to tour in support of her highly anticipated new album “Bionic” alongside Leona Lewis, has pushed back the tour a year. In a statement from Live Nation, Aguilera announced the summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments she had to make for promoting the album, set to hit stores June 4 and her upcoming film debut, “Burlesque,” which is slated for a November release and co-stars Cher. “The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” the statement read. New dates will be announced later this year. Refunds for tickets to Aguilera’s Aug. 19 show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine are available at point of purchase. Aguilera is slated to perform at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6.
Yes, all of this makes sense … but why wasn’t any of this lack of time taken into consideration BEFORE the tour was announced and tickets went on sale? I managed to score some sweet tix for the August 19th show and now I have to go thru the hassle of getting a refund of my money. Altho annoying, I guess it’s better than Xtina put her tour on hold so that she can take the time to work up a spectacular show. I guess we’ll just have to wait until next year to see the Bionic woman in action on stage.

Maybe should should have kept gagas name out of her mouth in all of thoughs interviews. lol i knew it was gonna be bad karma for her from the moment she called gaga a man. I mean lets face it, the gays have shift their music interests, and right now, lady gaga is the queen. not to say the gays dont LOVE the britneys, madonnas, & christinas anymore (the gays will always remain loyal to their first loves) but when you’ve got one pop star who talks in interviews and carrys herself as if shes far more superior than “the newcomer” people wont take a strong liking towards that. And lets face it, whats a pop diva without her gay fan base? lol sorry, just my littler theory here.
I think its a good thing she canned this tour. I assume ticket sales were not nearly as good as what her camp was expecting. and with her first single flopping down the charts, i think its safe to say she needs to reevaluate her promotion for this album QUICK, otherwise shes gonna have a huge bomb on her hands! (which would be lame because ive heard the album and its actually not too bad.)
