Christina Aguilera, who was set to tour in support of her highly anticipated new album “Bionic” alongside Leona Lewis, has pushed back the tour a year. In a statement from Live Nation, Aguilera announced the summer tour has been moved to 2011 due to prior commitments she had to make for promoting the album, set to hit stores June 4 and her upcoming film debut, “Burlesque,” which is slated for a November release and co-stars Cher. “The singer felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date this wasn’t possible,” the statement read. New dates will be announced later this year. Refunds for tickets to Aguilera’s Aug. 19 show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine are available at point of purchase. Aguilera is slated to perform at the MTV Movie Awards on June 6.
Yes, all of this makes sense … but why wasn’t any of this lack of time taken into consideration BEFORE the tour was announced and tickets went on sale? I managed to score some sweet tix for the August 19th show and now I have to go thru the hassle of getting a refund of my money. Altho annoying, I guess it’s better than Xtina put her tour on hold so that she can take the time to work up a spectacular show. I guess we’ll just have to wait until next year to see the Bionic woman in action on stage.

I read that the tour was cancelled because advance ticket sales were very, very low and the first single has been given a thrashing by the critics.
Flop single, flop video, and now a flop tour. I wonder if her album and movie are going to flop too, and sorry but planning a tour a year after an album is released is stupid everyone but her fans is going to be over this album by then.
To be honest, I don’t think the tour was selling poorly. I mean, tickets only went on sale for a little bit and then all of the sudden it gets postponed? I doubt it would be postponed just because of that. Her last tour was a huge success. I heard she really wants to promote this album and she even said she wants to put her all into it because she believes in this album. The album leaked yesterday and I listened to it and I can say it is one of the best pop albums in a very long time. I will even say it’s better than anything Madonna has put out in the last 20 years and better than anything Britney has put out and y’all know I’m a huge Britney fan…plus, it totally even craps on anything Lady GaGa has done as well. This album is seriously amazing. It’s so versatile, raw, and there really is nothing like it out there. “Not Myself Tonight” was a horrible first single choice. Christina does not deserve this bashing at all.
it makes sense…i mean she put an album on hold to make the movie…i can see her putting a tour on hold for it. she likes things perfect…so i can see why she would wait until she can put 100% into it.

as for the album….i checked out the leaked version…and i cant wait to buy it…’Not Myself Tonight’ is not a good example of what the album is like…theres only about one song i dont like on it. she needs to release the song ‘I Hate Boys’. << that should have been her first single.
Also, this tour only existed in the first place to promote the album since it was just a SUMMER MINI TOUR TO PROMOTE THE ALBUM, not an actual tour itself.
Touring a year after an album is not that uncommon. She does need to do some major promoting for his album since the first single has apparently tanked. Dirrty failed when it first came out too and she went on to have other successful singles off of Stripped, so this is not hopeless at all. This is probably a wise move. I’m not at all impressed with the songs I have heard so far, but I’m still rooting for her.
lol no bionic was boring and basic much like xtina, it had like 3 good songs on it. Sorry but Blackout still shits over every Pop album that’s been made in decades.
She NEEDS to support this album, cause NMT flopped hard, and hell even woohoo is flopping down the itunes chart even tho everyone ~loved~ it, somethings wrong when even Nicki can’t save your single.

She was already planning on touring for just a little bit this summer, and then doing more next year. I know this for a fact. Now they are just merging the two halves. (and Chase, I never thought I would see you comment that something was better than Britney! I am really curious about this cd now! ;) )

ok wen i found out about this i was annoyed cuz i had pretty good seats for her Irvine show but its alright, knowing the kind of perfectionist she is and the amount of time and effort she puts into her projects, i am not really trippin about it now cuz in retrospect a summer tour right away after the release of a new album, for christina, seemed really too soon and i was really wondering how she would have pulled off a ‘good’ tour like her last ones in such a short amount of time…so we have to wait a bit more, its alright! Take your time gurl, plan up a good show for us to enjoy!! 8-)
RE: returning your tickets – good luck getting the “convenience charge” refunded to you! They usually keep the $12 or more per ticket and only refund face value, then you have to pay the “convenience charge” again when you re-buy the tickets next year!
@Kat — Unless you buy your tickets with American Express. They will refund incidental charges like this even if Ticketmaster won’t.

Her career in trouble..If your 15 now you were 5 when Genie came out and 10 when BTB came ouy.Thats just to much time with no new music..They know her has the girl Perez said copied Gaga they don’t know her Dirty Video or Fighter or her crazy photo shoots..3 CD in 11 years is suicide for a Pop Star.

OH girl! look at you being crazy saying that Blackout is garbage. Blackout has been one of the best POP cd’s out this decade. It is perfect, actually. So simmer down with this whole~concept~theory.
Maybe she’s pregnant? And if not, well a person doesn’t cancel a tour for no reason, so I am sure she has a good one.
