Hold on to your hats, y’all … there might be a BIG development on the way for Reese Witherspoon and her relatively new man Jim Toth. Over the weekend, Reese was spotted making her way out of a bridal shop in Santa Monica, CA before meeting up with Jim at one of her kids’ sporting events later in the day. Might the couple be ready already to say their I Dos?

I mean … HMMMMM. I suppose just because Reese was spotted at a bridal shop it doesn’t necessarily mean that she is planning to get hitched. She might have an upcoming wedding for a family member or friend … perhaps she was just trying on veils for kicks. I think it might be a bit hasty to assume she is ready to marry Jim already but … well, in Hollywood, I guess you just never know. What do y’all think … do you think these two ready to tie the knot?

As I’m sure you are well aware, the 2 1/2-hour season finale of Lost aired on ABC last night bringing a close to a story that has captured the imagination of the world for the past 6 years and while the ep did not satisfy everyone (after all, how could it?) it did manage to strike a cord with many loyal fans of the show. Because the finale ep was such a big deal, the show’s creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse filmed 3 alternate endings for the series in order to keep the real ending a complete surprise:

Yesterday we learned that Lindsay Lohan returned home to SoCal Saturday night from her trip to Cannes, France last week so that she can appear before the judge overseeing her DUI probation case in court later on this morning. Right now, we get to watch a short video interview with Lindsay wherein she tries to explain all of her recent behavior that has been leading up to today’s court appearance and touches on subjects like her alleged drug use, her alleged partying, her non-existent relationship with her father Michael Lohan and more. It would seem that Lindsay agreed to do this interview, filmed by Hollywood.tv, in order to try and shoot down all of the negative reports going around about her before she goes into court to plead her case to the judge. Here is the full video interview with Lindsay and a quick synopsis of what she discusses in the interview for those of you who cannot watch:

Lindsay reveals that she was in Cannes to do press for an upcoming film called Inferno — NOT to party with her friends as has been reported; she claims that she stopped in someone’s room to innocently take a picture with “a fan” and that she had “no idea” what was in the room, therefore she couldn’t know if there were drugs in the room; she reveals that she has been set up in the past and hopes she wasn’t set up by this photo this time; she denies taking drugs; she doesn’t understand why she might be sent to prison, explains that she missed “one class” due to an uncle’s death, suggests the only person who wants to see her in jail is her father; she explains she was stuck in Cannes due to a lost passport and reveals that other items were missing as well; she reveals that she has no connection with her father because he is a convicted felon; she clarifies that she was “not partying in Cannes” she was “there for work”; she claims that she has “always taken responsibility for her actions, always”; she doesn’t understand a need for rehab, maintains she has been in full compliance of the terms of her probation, calls her father “clearly insane”; she denies financial problems; she explains that she is very upset that she missed her brother’s college graduation yesterday because she had to prepare for court today

Whether or not this video will have any impact on her court hearing today (highly unlikely), it seems like she is really just trying to do damage control with the public, in the media by telling her side of the story. Very sad news to pass along today … last night, at approximately 9:30PM PT, the late Brittany Murphy‘s surviving husband passed away in the couple’s Hollywood home, the very same home where Brittany passed away last December. Almost 5 months to day, Simon Monjack was discovered unconscious in his bedroom right next to the bathroom where Murphy died on December 20. Thus far, no cause of death has been determined/released but no matter the cause, the news is very very sad:

The husband of actress Brittany Murphy was found dead Sunday night at his home in the Hollywood Hills, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Screenwriter Simon Monjack died at the home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road, just five months after the death of his wife, according to Sgt. Louie Lozano. The cause of death was unknown late Sunday night. “We have detectives at scene,” Lozano said. “They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it.” At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home. In February, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office ruled that Murphy died of pneumonia complicated by an iron deficiency, anemia and multiple drug intoxication. Coroner’s officials said Murphy had gone into sudden cardiac arrest because of “drug intake,” and her Dec. 20 death was classified as an accident.

This is such shockingly sad news … what a tragedy over all. THIS report claims that it was Murphy‘s mother who found Monjack in an unresponsive state last night before she called 911 (as you may recall, Murphy‘s mother was the one who also discovered her daughter’s body last December) but thus far that has not been confirmed. Whatever the case may be, it’s just all so very sad. To be honest, I wouldn’t at all be surprised to learn that Monjack may have ended his own life but I suppose it’s just as possible that his will to live just stopped in the wake of his wife’s loss (tho, TMZ is now reporting that sources are telling them it might’ve been an accidental overdose). Brittany Murphy passed away so suddenly, at such a young age … I can see how Monjack‘s grief might’ve had a hand in his death. My deepest condolences go out to his entire family. So very sad.
