'Blonde' bombshell
First Look: Naomi Watts As Marilyn Monroe

Here is our first look at actress Naomi Watts in full costume as the iconic Marilyn Monroe in a new promo photo for the upcoming biopic on MM‘s life titled Blonde. Due to begin shooting early next year, Blonde is the long-talked about film about the life and death of Marilyn Monroe. It remains to be seen if Naomi is capable of bringing Marilyn to life on the big screen but judging by this first photo, she’s kinda got the look down:

Here is the first promo pic of Naomi Watts as Marilyn Monroe for the upcoming biopic, Blonde, which will be directed by Andrew Dominik. It’s an adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ imaginary Marilyn Monroe memoir that will start shooting in January 2011. This pic was taken at the Cannes Film Festival by Allocine.com.

In all honesty, it doesn’t matter who plays Marilyn Monroe in a biopic based on her life … NO ONE will be able to be the Marilyn to satisfy everyone. That being said, I can see how Naomi Watts might have the acting ability to do the larger-than-life Marilyn justice. Not only does the actress who plays Marilyn have to look like her but she has to be able to act convincingly enough to due her justice … that is no small feat. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how Blonde turns out but I’m hopeful it’ll be a smash hit. What do y’all think, is Naomi Watts the right woman to play Marilyn Monroe in this new film?

Celebs Attend The Chopard 150th Anniversary Party In Cannes

As you may know by now, the 2010 Cannes International Film Festival is in fully swing … which means the parties are also well underway. Chopard, makers of fine jewelry and watches, threw a lavish 150th anniversary party this week and managed to attract the likes of Naomi Watts, Marion Cotillard and even Lindsay Lohan. Here are a few photos from the event’s red carpet arrivals:

This party must’ve been really important because L. Lo is risking going to jail just so she can be in Cannes, France to attend. I mean, I like a good party too but damn girl, you are nuts to risk your freedom just to get your party on with your friends. In any event, this Chopard event was THE party to be at so I hope it was worth all the trubs. Looks like fun, no?

The Witch is Back ... as a 'Liar'
Holly Marie Combs Is Returning To TV

Holly Marie Combs, who famously played Piper Halliwell for 8 seasons of Charmed, is making her return to TV this Summer in a new ABC Family series called Pretty Little Liars. HMC was joined by her new co-star Chad Lowe at a promo event for the new series, here are a few photos from that event and some deets about the show:

It’s been a rough four years since my weekly doses of Holly Marie Combs stopped arriving every Sunday but thankfully the seriously underrated “Charmed” actress is finally returning to television. And making her comeback even more delicious, Holly is coming aboard a show I was already excited about. She’s joining ABC Family’s next great series, “Pretty Little Liars” as Ella Montgomery, the mother of Lucy Hale’s conniving character Aria. The show — about four teen girls who have been harboring a seriously un-ABC Family secret since the sixth grade — will hopefully give Holly a chance to play slightly sinister since the books are kind of like a teen version of “Desperate Housewives.” “Pretty Little Liars” premieres on June 8.

OOOH, I love this!! The show may sound a bit girly for me but I am so excited that Holly Marie Combs will be back on my TV. As I’ve mentioned a few times before in recent months, I’ve been rewatching the entire Charmed series (just started the 8th and final season this week) so I’m all about HMC, Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan these days. While, sadly, Alyssa‘s new series Romantically Challenged has been canceled by ABC and Shannen‘s quest to win Dancing with the Stars was cut all too short, I am very much looking forward to seeing HMC in this new series and Rose in the new Conan the Barbarian remake film. Not sure that Pretty Little Liars is for you? After the jump, check out a promo video that might change your mind …

Watch: ‘Kylie’s Magic Moment’

Back in February we got to see a few promo photos of Kylie Minogue‘s new ad campaign for TOUS jewelry — as you may recall, Kylie was all dolled up as a sexy magician for the campaign. Today, courtesy of British Vogue, we get to see a short video promo of magician Kylie workin’ her magic for Tous:

While I loved the promo photos, I really love this promo video. Kylie is just the cutest … and her little magic act is adorable. Check out the video after the jump …

The TV Guide
Back To Normal

OMG … at last … David and I made it home, safe and sound, and after far too many headaches things seem to be back to normal with the site. To be honest, I don’t even have the strength to recount all the horrors that we went thru over the past couple of days … as if our travel nightmare wasn’t bad enough, the technical difficulties with the site almost did me in. Without over-exaggerating at all, the entire site was almost lost … but, thankfully, David managed to sort everything out and get the site back in working order. I cannot even tell you what I would do without out him. He is my hero and I love him so much.

As things begin to level-off and settle back into normalcy, I am trying to get back into my regular routine. I was happy to find this little surprise in the mail today:

This small Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Legos set may not look like much but its arrival cheered me up a bit and has brightened my day a bit. Jake Gyllenhaal looks really cute as a little Lego man … how could I not be cheered up.

As happy as I am that things are normalizing for me, I still have much sadness back home to contend with. A very good friend of mine lost his father suddenly and without warning due to a heart attack. His family and all of my friends back home are still reeling from the loss. As a result, I will be flying back home to Detroit this coming weekend to attend a memorial event with my friends and loved ones. This death has really affected me and it’s hard to focus on fun and frivolity when my dear friends are suffering but I’m trying to just stay on track, do what I do and soldier on.

I have to say it again, THANK YOU all so much for your ceaseless messages of support. Your kind messages and well-wishes have been so helpful … you have no idea. I’m sending all my love to y’all today … and always. From the bottom of my heart, love to you ALL!!

‘Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time’ Premieres In Hollywood

Last week we got to see photos from the world premiere of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in London, England and today we get to see a few photos from the red carpet arrivals at the Hollywood premiere of the film which took place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre here in Los Angeles, CA last night. Jake Gyllenhaal was lookin’ damn good on the red carpet (as per usual) and even Alanis Morissette was in attendance … behold:

We are just about one week away from the film’s release and as much as I fear that the film will not be an epic masterpiece, I can’t help but be all kinds of excited to see Jakey poo helm a big budget blockbuster film. I mean, c’mon … if Alanis Morissette can be excited for the film, so can we, right? Yeah, I’m not sure that makes any sense at all but I am trying to stay positive about this film. I’ll be there opening day, will you?

"[M]y New York guise is gone. Ostrich flats don't really work on the beach!"
Blake Lively Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine . . . Again

Blake Lively, star of the CW‘s Gossip Girl and the female lead in the upcoming movie adaptation of Green Lantern, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue magazine … for the second time in just over a year (as you may recall, she was featured on the cover of the February 2009 issue as well). Vogue editor in chief, Anna Wintour, explains the reason why Blake scored her second Vogue cover in the Editor’s Letter … which you can read below:

“Lively has been in VOGUE before–when Gossip Girl made its initial dent in the popular psyche in March 2008; for her first cover with Mario Testino and Tonne Goodman, in February 2009; and as the style icon du jour for New York socials in March 2010. She’s a terrific role model for young women: sporty, healthy, family-minded, and effortlessly lovely.”

It is interesting that Blake Lively managed to score another Vogue cover, especially since she doesn’t have any new projects to promote right now (Green Lantern won’t be out until next year). Still, Wintour is right … I would also describe Blake Lively as “sporty, healthy and effortlessly lovely”. After the jump, check out some photos from Blake‘s latest Vogue magazine photospread …

Blame it on the rain
Sarah Jessica Parker Braves The Rain In NYC

Here are a couple of supercute pics of mama Sarah Jessica Parker (lookin’ a bit Madonna-esque), who resumes her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in the upcoming sequel film Sex and the City 2 (due out in theaters next week), walking her young son James Wilkie to school in the drizzling rain in NYC yesterday:

First, it’s really fantastic that SJP still takes the time to walk her son to and from school. She and hubby Matthew Broderick seem to be fairly hands on parents and seem to really enjoy the time they spend with their children. Second, I love that SJP got all dolled up for the occasion … even in the rain, she has to make sure she looks fabulous (which, I’m sure, has a lot to do with the fact that SaTC 2 is about to hit theaters). Third, I’m SO glad I managed to evade the rain in NYC … tho, it’s a bit drizzly here in SoCal this morning. Ah well … something has to ensure that we get to enjoy those lovely May flowers. But I digress … you’re lookin’ good, SJP! Can’t *wait* to see you in Sex and the City 2 next week :)
