A couple weeks ago we got our first look at Issue #1 of the new True Blood comic book and just last Friday we got to see alternate covers and inside artwork for that first issue. Today we get our first look at the cover artwork for Issue #2 … behold:

As sexy and supernatural as True Blood the HBO TV series is, I also consider it a bit of a cartoony comedy. I think the characters lend themselves very nicely to the world of comic books. This cover artwork for Issue #2 seems to me to be a great representation of the campy fun illustrators can have with the world of True Blood. I am a big fan of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic book series and I think those characters flourish with new life as comic book characters … I think the same will ring true here. Newish couple Reese Witherspoon and agent Jim Toth made their way back to Ojai, CA this weekend for a little romantic get-away for just the two of them. As you may recall, Reese and Jim sneaked away to Ojai back in March to celebrate Reese‘s birthday. It would appear that Ojai is a very special place for Reese to take the men that she is dating because before Reese and Jim went there in March (and again this past weekend), she and former boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal made their way to Ojai back in December. In any event, it would seem that Reese and Jim are settling into couplehood very easily … I mean, after all, they already look like an old married couple:

I don’t know about YOU but to me it looks like Reese and Jim and in it for the loooooooong haul. These two really look like they’ve settled into their relationship quite nicely. Will their lurve be able to stand the test of time? We shall see. At this point, tho, it would seem they are well on their way to happy, traditional domesticity.

Last night, CBS aired the 20th season finale of Survivor and crowned their latest $1 million dollar winning sole survivor. As you may recall, back in January we learned that this season of Survivor was a Heroes vs. Villains match-up which was cast of some of our most beloved and most reviled Survivor contestants of all time. The 20th season of Survivor was, IMHO, one of the most entertaining seasons to watch … and last night, the big winner was crowned:

I realize that some of you Survivor fans may not have been able to watch the show live last night and may not yet know who won so I’ll keep the reveal behind the cut. Going into the finale ep, the final five players were Colby Donaldson (who was eliminated at the start of last night’s ep), Jerri Manthey, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Parvati Shallow and Russell Hantz which was whittled down to the final 3 … and then the big winner was, well, you’ll see. This season’s live finale aftershow was held at the Ed Sullivan Theatre in NYC, NY and made for some deliciously satisfying television — at least for me. I have to take some time to start the day today by sending out Birthday LURVE and wishes to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and his new band How to Destroy Angels (with his wife Mariqueen and long-time music collaborator Atticus Ross). TR turns 45 today so let’s all of us send our best birthday wishes his way today:

This is TR‘s first birthday as a married man so that, in addition to the formation of his exciting new music project endeavor HTDA (which, as you may recall, just released their debut music video on Friday), is sure to make this birthday even more special than all previous birthdays. I’ve been so fortunate to get to know the man personally and it is with much love that I wish him the happiest birthday today! Here’s to many, many more happy birthdays to come!!
