"There's always room for forgiveness. And I do forgive"
Christina Aguilera Does ‘Latina’ Magazine

Christina Aguilera, who spent the earlier part of this week spreading goodwill to the children of Haiti as the Ambassador Against Hunger for the World Food Programme, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Latina magazine. In her coverstory interview, Xtina talks about her “nonexistent” relationship with her father but also reveals her ability to forgive the horrible treatment suffered by her family at his abusive hands. Here is Xtina‘s Latina mag coverphoto and some excerpts from her coverstory interview:

These days, singer Christina Aguilera is a happy wife (to Jordan Bratman) and mom (to 2-year-old son Max). One person not in her life? Her estranged father Fausto Aguilera. Their relationship, Aguilera tells Latina magazine, is “pretty nonexistent. I’m in a place in my life where I just don’t see a reason for it.” The pop star has said that Fausto, a former U.S. Army Sergeant, was emotionally and physically abusive; he and her mom, Shelly Kearns, split when Christina was just seven, and she rarely saw him after that. “To remember the chaos that [my mother] went through, the abuse, I don’t know how she did it,” Aguilera, 29, tells Latina. “But it’s amazing how much you can trick your mind into surviving when you have to.” “There’s always room for forgiveness,” the “Not Myself Tonight” songstress adds. “And I do forgive–but you grow up and make choices for your family.” In 1999 — when Aguilera first became a teen pop rival to Britney Spears — she reunited with Fausto after 12 years following an NYC concert. “We spoke for the first time in a long while. Really, he’s a stranger to me,” she told Rolling Stone at the time. “He’s apologized,” she added. “I think he had a lot of guilt.” Things are infinitely better with Bratman, whom she married in 2005. “Jordy was the calm in the storm when everybody else was driving me crazy,” she tells Latina. “I had a lot of older people around me who were conniving–and these people do that so you cling to them. He was the person who reached down, pulled me out and made me see reason. I’m very lucky to have him.” The June issue of Latina hits stands May 25.

I know that Xtina has opened up about her father’s abuse before but I really think it’s important for her to keep sharing her story. So many families are suffering in abusive situations right now and hopefully Xtina‘s story can help them overcome their situations and extricate themselves from their abusers. It’s also important for others in the same situation to realize that they are not alone. I’m sure it was very difficult for Xtina to reach a point where she could forgive … but it’s also very important that she not forget. But … I digress. Xtina‘s feature in Latina is about so much more about her past … she also talks about her future, including her new album Bionic. She also features in a pretty hawt photospread as well. The two rap giants will play Detroit and NYC in September
Eminem & Jay-Z Announce Massive Hometown Concerts

Rap superstars Eminem and Jay-Z made a joint appearance at Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team) in Detroit, MI last night during the Tigers vs. Yankees game to announce plans for two massive concerts to take place this September at Comerica Park in Detroit (Em‘s hometown) and at Yankee Stadium NYC (Jay‘s hometown). Here are photos from their appearance/announcement last night and the deets of what went down:

In a summer that’s already overflowing with superstar concerts, hometown rapper Eminem — with some help from an out-of-town friend — is set to deliver what may be the season’s biggest concert event. Eminem and Jay-Z will perform together Sept. 2 at Comerica Park, the pair announced Wednesday during the Detroit Tigers-New York Yankees game at Comerica Park. They will trade off and play Yankee Stadium in Jay-Z’s hometown of New York on Sept. 13. Em and Jay-Z — each sporting their respective team’s logo — made the announcement live on Fox Sports Detroit during the top of the fourth inning, following an announcement on ESPN during the game’s national broadcast. “(We’re) just trying to find ways we can collaborate and stretch the genre out of hip-hop and make it large,” Jay-Z said. “Playing stadiums, that’s new for hip-hop” … The Detroit concert — which Em teased on his Twitter account early Wednesday — will mark Eminem’s biggest hometown show since he performed at Comerica Park in 2005 … Jay-Z, meanwhile, performed a sold-out show at the Palace of Auburn Hills in March. He also performed at Eastern Michigan University’s Convocation Center in October 2009, a month after the release of his “Blueprint 3″ album. The Comerica Park show is the only outdoor stadium concert booked in Metro Detroit this summer. Ticket information is not yet available. Wednesday’s concert announcement coincided with the news that “Not Afraid,” the first single from Eminem’s new album “Recovery,” will debut at No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. “Not Afraid” marks only the 16th time a song has debuted at No. 1 in the nearly 52-year history of the chart. The song is Eminem’s third No. 1 song on the Hot 100, following “Lose Yourself” and “Crack a Bottle.” “Recovery” is due out June 22.

This is just … fantastic news!! Detroit Rock City always gets the biggest acts to play the biggest shows and this show may be the biggest yet. Eminem and Jay-Z are the biggest rappers in the game, a show where they co-headline is bound to be epic. I’m telling you right now, I’m gonna do everything I can to be at the Detroit show on September 2 … count on it. ‘True Blood’ Season 3 Releases A Promo Trailer

For a few weeks now, HBO has been gifting us with fun promo items to get us excited for the season 3 premiere of True Blood (happening on Sunday June 13) and today we get to see the FIRST promo video trailer for the upcoming season. The clip gives us a peek at some of our fave TB characters, some new characters who we will meet in season 3 and lots of fangbanging!

If I have one complaint about this first trailer … it’s that it’s too short! 32 seconds, HBO … really? I think a minute-long clip would’ve been much more fun, don’t you? That being said, they do pack a lot into these all too short 32 secs. After the jump, check out the True Blood season 3 trailer in full …

At last, it's out!
Listen: Kylie Minogue, ‘All The Lovers’

Yesterday I passed along all the info for the world premiere debut of Kylie Minogue‘s new single, All the Lovers (taken from her upcoming new album Aphrodite) which took place earlier today on BBC Radio 1 and right here, right now we get to hear the song in full. But before we get to the track itself, I have other info to pass along. The song was originally going to be available for download on June 28 but due to high demand from her fans, Kylie decided to move the release date up by 2 weeks … All the Lovers will now be available for download on June 13:

Kylie’s new single ‘All The Lovers’, which has now premiered at radio to a fantastic response, has been brought forward two weeks due to overwhelming public demand. The track, originally due for release in all formats on June 28, will now be available digitally from June 13 with a physical release / digital bundle to follow on June 28. Popjustice recently called the song “a truly incredible comeback single…a solid gold summer pop anthem”. News of the World called it “one of the best Kylie songs ever”. The track is co-produced and written by Jim Eliot & Mima Stilwell. ‘All The Lovers’ is the first release from Kylie’s upcoming 11th studio album ‘Aphrodite’.

Unfortch I was unable to stay up until 3AM ET to hear the live premiere of the track … but, thankfully, the song has been made available online for our listening pleasure. After the jump, listen to All the Lovers in full …
