Back in January we learned that beefy actor Jason Momoa (Baywatch, Stargate: Atlantis) won the title role as Conan the Barbarian in the upcoming remake of the Conan movie franchise and in March we learned that Rose McGowan (Scream, Charmed) has been cast as the female lead in the film. Today we get our first look at Momoa on the set of Conan the Barbarian as Conan himself … behold:

The lead actor is featured shirtless in one photo and is seen riding a horse in another shot. Other images additionally give a look at the shooting process in which several men ride horses and a King Kong is put in a cage … “Conan” … will center its story on iconic figure Conan the Cimmerian and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria. Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan and Ron Perlman join Jason Momoa in the cast ensemble, with Marcus Nispel serving behind the lens for the 2011 movie.

I have to say, I was pretty bummed that Momoa won the role of Conan over Kellan Lutz (who was also in the running for the part) but I take comfort that he does look the part in these photos. Even tho these set pics are a bit grainy, they do give us a pretty good peek at what the new Conan the Barbarian will look like. THIS fan forum site has a few more photos snapped on the Conan set, so fans might want to check ‘em out. We are still a long way from knowing if Jason Momoa will be able to step into (now California Governor) Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s shoes (the original Conan) but it does appear that he’s got the look down. Yesterday we saw a couple supercute pics of Britney Spears picking up her young sons from karate class in SoCal last Saturday and today we get to see a few really adorable pics of little Sean Preston and Jayden James having a superfun day at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on Sunday afternoon … the only weird thing is that they enjoyed Disney on Mother’s Day without mama Britney:

The kids were escorted around the amusement park by a bodyguard, nanny and Disney tour guide as Britney was noticeably missing. Despite the lack of their mom’s presence, the boys — who proudly wore Mickey ears — seemed to be having a great time! If you were thinking Brit was absent from the Disney Land Mother’s Day extravaganza because she was preparing for her conservatorship meeting today, think again. The pop princess was spotted shopping and seems to have missed a pretty important meeting involving her case — namely, a status hearing scheduled for today at 1:30 p.m. As the hearing was supposed to start, an eyewitness tells OK! Brit was at gay bar The Abbey in West Hollywood, and grabbed a cheeseburger and soda with her bodyguard before heading home. But that’s not everything she did today! “Britney started the day by shopping on Robertson at Vionnet Boutique. She bought shorts and mini skirts,” an eyewitness tells OK! of how Britney spent her morning.

Aww … even tho Britney didn’t accompany her boys to Disneyland, it does look like they were having a great time. As you should be well aware, Britney Spears was very famously a Mouseketeer in the Mickey Mouse Club in the mid-90′s (along with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez and Christina Aguilera) so it’s nice to see that her young children seem to have that same Mouseketeer lurve as well. I think it’s a bit presumptuous to assume that Britney missed out on spending Mother’s Day with her kiddies … I suspect they did their own celebrating in their own way away from prying eyes. I think it’s adorable that the kiddies got to spend the day at Disney, Sean P. and JJ really wear their Mickey Mouse ears very well … don’t you think?

Now that we know WHO will be directing the next installment of The Twilight Saga movie franchise (Academy Award-winning director Bill Condon) and WHEN it will be released (November 18, 2011) we now move into the contract negotiations phase of production of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. As you might imagine, the film’s principal stars — Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner — are all poised to get big pay increases for the next installment of the movie franchise (which may or may not be broken up into two films). But, according to new reports, other castmembers have yet to sign their contracts to appear in the film(s). Apparently, Ashley Greene (who plays Alice Cullen) and Kellan Lutz (who plays Emmett Cullen) are hoping for pay increases, too. Unfortch, it is being reported, the movie studio isn’t willing to up their pay as much as they like … which means trouble for Alice and/or Emmett Cullen. Could the next Twilight film actually be Alice and/or Emmett-less?

Although Summit Entertainment has officially announced that “The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn” will be released in the U.S. on November 18, 2011, the studio has not confirmed whether or not it will be split into two parts. Latest report on the development mentions that the studio indeed wants two “Breaking Dawn” movies and is close to finalize deals with main cast to return to the fifth “Twilight” film. While Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are rumored getting big raises for the last installment, Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene reportedly have not found agreements with the studio regarding their salaries. A source close to the dealmaking tells The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that the depicters of Emmet Cullen and Alice Cullen want bigger paydays that Summit is unwilling to provide. THR learns that Summit has actually offered money 10 times bigger than the actors made in the first movie. However, it is still deemed “offensive” since they studio has generated a lot of cume from the franchise. The source then suggests that either Lutz or Greene might be cut from the cast ensemble, saying “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point.” Another source affirms the speculation, adding “This thing is gonna be two movies. With or without the cast intact.” THR also reports that “Breaking Dawn” might be shot in Louisiana to make an adjustment to the already bigger budget. However, Summit declines to release any comment on the situation. Bill Condon is on board to direct “Breaking Dawn” and reportedly signed to make the two parts.

If we’ve learned anything from the firing of Rachelle Lefevre from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse it’s that the movie studio ain’t playing around when it comes to the second and third tier actors. If you aren’t one of the Big 3 (Stewart, Pattinson, Lautner) then you are expendable and replaceable. In the end, I’m pretty certain that both Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz will play nice with the studio in order to keep their roles in the film. Will they get the raise they are pushing for? Maybe … but maybe not. But if they’re smart, they won’t press too hard to get more money … otherwise they’ll be hangin’ with Rachelle Lefevre while everyone else is off making the next Twilight film without them. In the wake of the insanely embarrassing Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal, Tiger and his wife Elin Nordegren went thru a few month phase of what looked to be an attempt to keep their marriage intact. Altho the couple were never seen out in public in any affectionate fashion, they did appear to seem willing to work towards salvaging their marriage in an attempt to put Tiger‘s infidelitous extramarital affairs behind them. Just a couple of weeks ago, Elin left the US and returned home to her native Sweden without Tiger … which seemed to signal a break down in their attempt to salvage their marriage. Just recently, Elin returned home to be with her husband … and now TMZ is reporting that the couple are dunzo for good. According to today’s report, Tiger and Elin have decided to divorce and are hoping to do so as quickly and as quietly as possible:

TMZ has learned Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren are trying to strike agreements on child custody and division of assets … and then quietly and quickly file divorce papers to end their marriage. Sources very familiar with the situation tell TMZ … the most important thing for both Tiger and Elin is keeping the terms of the divorce confidential. We’re told Tiger has a team — partly based in NYC — that is working on the division of assets. But … as TMZ first told you … the key player is West Palm Beach lawyer Thomas Sasser, an expert in child custody agreements that involve more than one jurisdiction. Sources say one of the options is to actually file for divorce in Sweden — Elin wants to move there with the kids and Tiger would have to submit to the jurisdiction of the court. Wherever the divorce is filed, the plan is to keep the custody and property settlement agreements out of the court file. We’re told the quicker and quieter the divorce, the better. The big issue, we’re told — Tiger wants either custody or visitation, and assurance that he can go into court and enforce the agreement if Elin violates it. We’re told Tiger wants the option to go to either a Swedish or American court to enforce the custody agreement. And sources say … the couple has not reached agreement on any of the major issues … at least not yet.

This sounds about right. I could never, for the life of me, envision a scenario where Elin would be able to forgive and forget everything that Tiger put her thru both in public and in private. It would take a lot, I would imagine, for her to be able to stay married to Tiger Woods (especially considering how little regard he appears to have had for their marriage vows) and apparently her needs were not or could not be met. On Tiger‘s end, I have to say, I also see where he is coming from. Yes, he is a self-admitted cheating scuzz but he does appear to love his children very much. My guess is that they will be able to hammer out the terms of their divorce to everyone’s satisfaction in that Elin will get a nice settlement and Tiger will get the access to his children that he wants. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elin and the children moved to Sweden permanently with the caveat that they return to the US on a regular basis so that the kids could see their father. As they get older, they’ll prolly make the long trek back and forth on with nannies or on their own. What a crappy situation all around for the kids. Tiger Woods has ruined so many things due to his disgusting behavior … and the saddest part of his destruction has to be the ruination of his kids’ young lives with both of their parents.
