Whitney Houston Kicks Off Europeon Leg Of Her World Tour
After a few delays, the 'Nothing But Love' World Tour hits the UK

Last week we learned that Whitney Houston was forced to postpone the start of the European leg of her Nothing But Love World Tour due to illness (an illness that continued to force the postponement of a few more shows in addition) but last night in Birmingham, England our dear Whitney took to the stage at the LG Arena to start up her tour once again. I think it’s safe to say that it wasn’t the smoothest show that Whitney has prolly performed in her storied career but overall I sounds like she held everything together … pretty much. Here are a few photos and some deets from last night’s show:

After canceling the first three U.K. dates of her comeback tour following her respiratory infection, Whitney Houston was back on stage at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England on April 13. Entering the stage in white shimmery outfit, she told the crowd, “I’m feeling pretty good myself. Thank you for asking.” When performing two songs from her latest album “I Look to You” in the beginning of the concert, Whitney got some trouble with her microphone, but one of her people was quick to hand her a replacement. “My head mic broke… but I always have a spare,” she joked. “It has been a long time since I’ve been to Birmingham but what a pleasure it is to be here,” she continued. “I thank you for your love and loyalty. Tonight I want you to enjoy yourselves, have a good look, do your thing. If you want to sing along to me, sing in the right key – I’ve seen ‘X Factor’. I know Simon [Cowell] too.” After around six songs were delivered, Whitney exited the stage to catch her breath, take a brief rest and change her clothes. “Thank you for being patient. I heard you got a little pissed off while I changed my clothes and dried off. But I’m here now,” she said upon her return. The set list of her “Nothing But Love” Tuesday concert included “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, “I’m Every Woman”, “I Will Always Love You”, “All My Love for You”. Saved as the last treatment before the lights were off was “Million Dollar Bill”.

Dang … poor Whitney can’t seem to catch a break right now. I know she postponed a string of shows so that she could rest and be ready to hit the stage with a vengeance but I suspect technical problems coupled with some lingering illness proved to be her ultimate undoing last night. It may take a few shows for the dear lady to warm up again and hit her stride … but I’m glad to see that she is soldiering on. Keep doing your thing, Whitney … keep on, keepin’ on.

My friend, who is in England said that people were booing her for being like 15/ 20 mins while she changed her outfit? I hope that wasn’t true! If she doesn’t watch out she won’t have an american leg of this tour

She seriously need to take it up a notch now.

Stop singing “I Will Always Love You”. If you can’t pull those notes off anymore, why bother? …. Every singer has to evolve and work with the voice they have NOW, not the voice they had back in ’84.

I heard her sing ‘I Will Always Love You’ at an England concert.. it was horrible. The reason she contracts lung infections etc is probably because of her smoking the crack. Can people stop coming up excuses for her.. she should NOT be touring in her condition.

  7. [...] directly foreshadowed Whitney’s fate. Word on the street is that Whitney’s concert performances haven’t been so great. Whitney, you should have hired Kevin Costner to protect you from the coke. Didn’t consider that, [...]
