Rihanna Films A Music Video For ‘Te Amo’
Floral print-cess

Rihanna, who is currently on tour in Europe with her Last Girl on Earth Tour, made a pit-stop in France to film her new music video for Te Amo in a picturesque French château this week. Here are a few photos for Ri Ri on the French set of her new music video:

Rihanna was clearly in the mood for love as she appeared on the set of her new video. The Bajan singer ditched her usual edgy, scantily-clad outfits for a romantic, flowing maxi dress as she shot the promo for her new single Te Amo. Currently in France for her Last Girl On Earth world tour, Rihanna took time out of gigging to film the video in the scenic location of a French château. After performing at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy on Wednesday night, Rihanna was up bright and early the following morning to shoot the promo at a château in the nearby town of Vigny. With manicured grounds, surrounded by fog against the backdrop of the 16th century castle, Rihanna looked every inch the romantic heroine. But, as expected from Rihanna, she did sex things up a notch when she changed into a racy black basque for another sequence. Joining the 22-year-old on location was French supermodel Laeticia Casta, who looked striking with her dramatic make-up and sexy black outfit. While Rihanna and director Anthony Mandler are keeping tight-lipped over the video’s storyline, a casting call asked for ‘beautiful, sexy and glamorous’ females who are ‘comfortable in their bodies’. Mandler has directed videos for some of the world’s biggest pop stars including Usher, Nelly Furtado, Eminem and Enrique Iglesias and Te Amo is the 11th time they’ve worked together. Writing on his Twitter page, Mandler enthused: ‘Thanks to all of Rihanna’s fans for the long list of suggestions… we’re gonna follow our instincts and give you guys something special … One of the best things about being an artist is the ability to cause controversy.’

Ooooooh, controversy. You know, I was just thinking that there isn’t enough controversy in music videos these days and how shocking it would be if a pop star actually caused a stir with one of their music videos. It’s as if Rihanna read my mind. I mean, I love the girl but I’m no longer intrigued by people courting controversy just for publicity’s sake. I find it hard to believe that this new music video will offer anything exciting and new but, I’ll take a look when it gets released. The only thing that would shock me is if Rihanna — or any other pop star — didn’t try so hard to shock me. Now there’s a novel idea.

why is she beating this album to death with singles? she should have stopped after rude boy.
the worst part of it is there not even using the good songs….i mean if they wanted another video off this cd…then she should have went with Fire Bomb.

  3. Well the dress is pretty…

  4. CHASE says:

@Nicole – Every artist is doing that. Well, except for Britney, of course. Beyonce released at least 6-8 singles off of Sacha and she re-released the album 5 times!!! Anyways, I think the song is definitely interesting. Oh, and Trent, Britney doesn’t try so hard to shock people. : ) Her normal everyday outfits, on the other hand…

I would love to run around a castle in flowy, pretty dress!! How fun!

Rhianna released nearly every song off the last album as a single I think. Churned out one after the other until they became a blur of sameness.

Ah back in the day it was all about releasing as many singles as possible. A lot of the Pop/R&B/Dance artists did it. So what you going on about people – clearly have next to no knowledge about music.

There is seriously no problem about releasing numerous singles and sometimes simultaneously. More marketing and promotion, something fans wanna see. Stop hating and go back to your normal, same crap different day sorta lives.

Btw Trent, we all know Lady Gaga isn’t your most favourite artist. Heck i agree with you about her. Sometimes i think you should just say her name, we all know it. Lady Gaga’s career is pretty much based off her dressing wildly and saying stupid crap in order to gain cheap publicity and free promotion to make herself look original and cool and now, popular. If she just shut her mouth and didn’t go on about Gays, the 80s and all this other nonsense crap, she would be liked even more and more respected. Its okay to talk about Gay rights and your love for 80s – but the way she does so is so freakish. She tries to hard – she references too much. By doing so, you look more like a copy cat than doing your own thing through inspiration.

Heck she could say NOTHING and pull a Britney circa 2010 – and she would still be popular cause her music isn’t horrendous. Unfortunately, she let some mysterious ego and attitude problem get in the way and made it all about her in front of the Paparazzi rather than her music. DESPERADO!

There is something ridiculously worth celebrating when a well thought out plan has taken effect. This same thing holds true for artist who do things to create the much needed media hype and controversy they seek. I am only wondering whether doing things organically will ever come back in style without artist having the need to be out of there skin to get attention.
