First Look: Chris Hemsworth As Thor
It's Hammer time!

Yesterday we got our first look at the big bad villain The Destroyer as he will be featured in next year’s big screen adaptation of the comic book series Thor and today we get our first look at the God of Thunder himself. Marvel/Paramount has released the first image of actor Chris Hemsworth as Thor … behold:

Long hair, check. Stubbly beard, check. Shiny armor, check. All that’s missing is Thor‘s trusty hammer Mjǫllnir. Thus far, Hemsworth has the Thor-look down. As much as I’d love to see a fuller photo of this new incarnation of Thor, I get that we are only being teased since the movie won’t be released until this time next year. I’m loving what I’m seeing thus far … I really can’t wait to see more. I have new confidence that Chris Hemsworth will make a fantastic flesh and blood Thor. What do y’all think?

    Looks like an excellent amalgam of the Kirby, Straczynski and Millar designs.

    Yeah, I’m a geek like that. :)

    the ‘preview’ at the end of Iron Man 2 is a waste of time. It only lasts like 2 seconds and they just show a weapon buried in the ground, they don’t show Thor or really anything

    @georgie.
    i’m totally not with you on this one… i’m actually ashamed he is Thor.
    A) He is from Home & Away. That and Neighbours are almost equivelent to Days of our Lives and Young and the Restless. Just more kiddie.
    B) He wasn’t even a great actor in that show. Then again WHO is?
    C) He is going to kill a possible great comic-book adaption (and possible franchise). I reckon this may be an Incredible Hulk. I could be wrong and maybe i will be – but Thor isn’t OVERALLY popular. But then again, they have a lot of trust in this with the budget and all that compared to the Hulk movies.

    Oh well – it wont compare to Iron Man or Spiderman however. The acting was actually great on those films. He is just gonna play some troubled dude once again with one emotion. Oh and the occasional angry face.
