Last year’s American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert may have graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine last Summer but he is featured on the cover and in the pages of the Japanese version of the mag this year. Here is our first look at Glambert on the cover of the NEW issue of Rolling Stone Japan:

I honestly expected Lambert‘s shoot for RS Japan to be really out there. Considering his penchant for dressing wacky, I’m pleasantly surprised to see him look … normal. I generally prefer substance over style so this is a nice change of pace, I think. See, an artist can push the boundaries of convention without feeling that they have to do so all the time.

Not a fan of this whole look! His face looks really, really weird. He almost looks like a young Joan Crawford. Too much makeup as well. Oh well – he still has awesome hair.
