Perfection

Back in January we got to see an adorable and HILARIOUS parody video of a group of children doing their interpretation of MTV‘s reality TV show Jersey Shore. Today we get to see those same adorable kids doing their version of MTV‘s faux reality TV show The Hills:

Now, this video actually came out yesterday but in my Nyquil haze of semi-consciousness I wasn’t really paying attention. It was only today that I finally got around to watch the video … and, man, am I glad that I did. These kids TOTALLY nail The Hills. Lil’ Audrina, lil’ Heidi and lil’ Spencer are my faves but, damn, all of these kids do an amazing job. If you don’t laugh your ass off watching this video then you must be inhuman … or are possibly Spencer Pratt. Check out this vid and tell me what you think … it’s genius, right?

Welcome to your 'Nightmare'
‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ Premieres In LA

Last night members of the principal cast of the new version of A Nightmare on Elm Street convened at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre for the Hollywood premiere of their new film. Altho the movie is a remake of the horror 80′s classic, it turns out that the premiere itself wasn’t all that scary at all:

Three days shy of the U.S. release of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, Warner Bros. Pictures has held the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on Tuesday, April 27. Taking place at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the event uses black carpet to welcome all the guests. Despite the dark-colored carpet, the cast and crew show cheerful faces when spotted at the event. Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner gather in front of a giant poster of the movie to pose for cameras. In another shot, Haley who plays Freddy Krueger is seen playfully pointing a fake razor glove to the depicter of Nancy, Mara. Director Samuel Bayer, producer Michael Bay as well as Toby Emmerich from New Line Cinema also showed up at the special screening. Additionally, the event is supported by the presence of some celebrity guests such as Kendra Wilkinson, BooBoo Stewart and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. “A Nightmare on Elm Street” is serving as the remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 film with the same title. The upcoming horror film, which will hit U.S. theaters on April 30, sees Freddy returning to hunt suburban teenagers, including Nancy and her boyfriend Quentin, and kill them through their dreams. Trying to stay away from death, they struggle not to fall asleep.

Okay, so the premiere may not have been all that scary but I’m sure hoping the film itself will scare the hell out of me. The original kinda ruined my sleep for weeks after I saw it (many, many years ago) so it’d be fun if this remake can live up to that standard. I’m not sure when I’ll make my way out to the theater to see Nightmare but I’m pretty sure I’ll be seeing it this weekend at some point. Are any of y’all planning to see A Nightmare on Elm Street this weekend as well?

Photoshopping friends together
The Ladies Of ‘Sex And The City 2’ Do ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ Magazine

Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall are all featured on the cover of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar Japan magazine to promote their upcoming sequel film Sex and the City 2 (due out in theaters here in the US on May 30). Tho, if you look closely, you can kinda tell that the ladies were not photographed together for the cover … it appears they were actually Photoshopped together in post-production:

I find it a bit odd that the SaTC ladies couldn’t get together to pose for a real magazine cover (especially with a new film to promote) but this isn’t the first time the ladies have pulled stuff like this. They are notorious for never posing for photos together for shoots like these. They each pose on their own and let the Photoshoppers do the rest. They each look very lovely tho (well, save for Ms. Cattrall … what is going on with her head?) but this doesn’t seem like a magazine that I feel I’d need to pick up.

‘The Back-Up Plan’ Premieres In London

Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin were in attendance at the Vue Leicester Square for the London premiere of their new film The Back-Up Plan earlier today. As you can see from the following photos, J. Lo tried to rock a hair’do that famously belongs to another A-List Hollywood celeb:

Unfortch, unless this particular hair’do isn’t blue in color then it looks utterly and COMPLETELY ridiculous. Forget the trash bag dress, I have no idea what the hell Jenny from the Block was thinking by trying to rock this hair’do … it does not really work for her. Even Mr. O’Loughlin looked mortified to be standing next to her on the red carpet last night. No … this whole thing that J. Lo is trying to pull of is just ….. no.

The Twilight Saga nabs an Academy Award-winning director
Bill Condon Signs On To Direct ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’

It’s official! Summit Entertainment has announced that the next installment of The Twilight Saga movie franchise, Breaking Dawn, will be directed by Bill Condon. As some of you may be well aware, Condon previously won the Academy Award for Best Director for his work on Gods and Monsters and famously directed Dreamgirls so his involvement in The Twilight Saga is a huge boon for the franchise. It remains to be seen if this final installment will be spread out over 2 movies (part 1 and part 2) and/or it will be filmed in 3D. All we know for sure right now is that Condon will be in charge of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn:

It’s the worst-kept secret in Hollywood, but at least now we finally know it’s true. Dreamgirls director Bill Condon has signed on to direct Breaking Dawn, the final chapter in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Summit Entertainment made the announcement today, though they declined to reveal whether or not the final book will be broken into one or two films. Said the press release, “Bringing Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn to the screen requires a graceful and intelligent hand and we believe Bill Condon is exactly the right steward, having shown equal and abundant talents of immense creativity and subtle sensitivity,” said Erik Feig, President of Production and Acquisitions, for Summit Entertainment. Sources tell EW.com that it will most likely be two movies, though none of the lead actors’ deals are complete, and the extra cash they want for the fifth movie may still be an issue. Also up in the air: will Breaking Dawn be in 3-D? It’s clear the studio wants this massive moneymaker in theaters as quickly as possible. While the 3-D would add to the cost of the productions, more crucially it would add to the time needed to finish the films. It’s also likely that Breaking Dawn will begin shooting this fall in Vancouver, and, assuming the actors’ deals can be made for a fifth film, both movies will be shot at the same time … Said Condon in the release, “I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”

Well … ain’t that something. The final installment of The Twilight Saga movie franchise will be directed by an Academy Award-winning director. I have to say, as fun as the films are, I think hiring someone of Condon‘s stature might be taking things a bit too far. I’m certain Condon will be paid very handsomely for this job and he is sure to be loved by Twilighters the world over but … I don’t know that this makes much sense for him as a serious director. That being said, who says that life has to be so serious all the time. Will the final Twilight movie (movies?) provide more artistic flair? Will Condon take Twilight into serious cinematic territory? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Now that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has a director, I’m sure we’ll be hearing very soon more deets on when the Twilight folks will be getting back to work. So … what do y’all think about this big news?

The TV Guide
Better Days

I am very happy to report that I am finally feeling better today … yesterday was still kinda rough but today has been much, much better. My aches and pains are mostly gone and all that is left if a runny nose, minor cough and a lingering headache. Because I wasn’t feeling much like going out yesterday, I ended up spending most of my time watching the new 2002 animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe:

Yes, I tend to revert into childhood when I get sick but I can’t help it if watching cartoons makes me feel a bit better. Look, this DVD set kept me from throwing myself in front of a bus so … don’t judge me please ;)

David and I also decided to take a trip to NYC in a couple of weeks so we spent some of our time planning that trip. We’ll be in the city for a full week, so we’ll have plenty of time to take care of a few things while we’re in town. I haven’t been in NYC since last Summer/Fall. I believe my last visit to the city was to see Nine Inch Nails perform their final NYC shows. I have to admit, I’m excited to go back … it’s been far too long.

Here’s hoping I kick my sickness for good by tomorrow! Thank you, again so much, for all your well wishes ;)

Par for the course
Les Beckhams Shop Up SoHo In NYC

On Monday we learned that David Beckham had made his way to NYC to appear on Good Morning America on his first stop on his NYC promo tour (to talk about the upcoming World Cup soccer tournament which gets underway in South Africa in June) which included a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman and will include a visit on The View … and today we learn that his wife Victoria Beckham is in the Big Apple with him. The pair were spotted doing a bit of fashionable shopping in the trendy neighborhood of SoHo yesterday … behold:

OY! Les Beckhams really are good at what they do best … lookin’ pretty while shopping for pretty things. You had to know that this “business trip” to NYC wouldn’t be all work and no play. It occurs to me that Becks and Vicki B. conceived their first child, Brooklyn Joseph, in NYC … might they be working on baby #4 while they are in Manhattan this week? I could see them having a little baby girl named SoHo, couldn’t you?

Boys' night out
Seal & Sons Root For The LA Lakers

Seal, singer and hubby to supermodel Heidi Klum, stepped out with his sons Henry Günther Ademola and Johan Riley Fyodor to attend the LA Lakers v. Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, CA last night. Seal and the boys were there to cheer on their beloved Lakers, who successfully trounced the Thunder by a score of 111-87. Here are a few cute pics of the boys enjoying their night out together:

Now, of course it’s nothing new to see celebs and their kids sitting courtside at a Lakers game but these photos have to be the cutest pics of all time. Henry and Johan are just the cutest little boys, it’s nice to see them out on the town with their daddy. I understand the OKC Thunder have been a bit of trouble for the LA Lakers so it might be that the Samuel boys were the charm that led to their massive win last night. Here’s hoping they attend more games in the future to ensure the Lakers stay on their winning streak :)
