'Badass' to the bone
Shannen Doherty Readies The Release Of Her First Book

While Shannen Doherty‘s stint on Dancing with the Stars was (far too) short-lived, I’m happy to pass along that there is exciting news about a new project from La Doherty. Shannen has penned her first book, an autobiography of shorts, that chronicles her life from child star, to TV superstar, to tabloid bad girl and beyond. Aptly titled, Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude, Shannen‘s new book will tell her side of the story from her personal perspective. Here is our first look at Shannen Doherty‘s first book:

For fans of Shannen Doherty, best known for her roles as Jenny Wilder on Little House on the Prairie, Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, and Prue Halliwell in Charmed, and for women who are fed up with coming in second and being treated like a doormat, or who just want more out of life. There’s a fine line between being a bad girl and being a badass, and Shannen Doherty ought to know. After enduring tabloid headlines during her catapult to teenage stardom as Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills 90210, Shannen Doherty has emerged a renewed woman on a mission. In her first book ever, she reveals her own evolution from bad girl to badass, sharing her secrets to happiness and success. Badass is a straightforward, but exciting journey to finding your inner badass and living life with moxie and style. Shannen shares intimate personal stories, like how both her parents nearly died when she was very young, and how these events have made an impact on her life. She also offers tips for using newfound confidence in relationships, and gives advice on dating, friendships, and handling “frenemies.” And she has lots of fun, creative ideas for living life to the fullest, from entertaining and vacationing to decorating and shopping. Woven throughout her tips and advice for living the badass lifestyle are photos, providing an intimate look at Hollywood’s favorite female badass.

OMG … LOVE this!! For years we’ve heard about what an alleged terror Shannen Doherty is to work with but AT LAST, she will have her say and will finally set the record straight. It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Shannen (for various reasons) and I am so curious to read what she has to say about all the things that have famously been said about her. Badass won’t be released until November but you can pre-order it HERE at Amazon to ensure that you get a copy as soon as it becomes available. I’ve already placed my order so the wait is on. I’m dying to read about Shannen‘s life experiences from her point of view … I suspect it will be a quite different tale then we’ve been told over the years.

Matt Kemp Especially
Rihanna Cheers On The LA Dodgers

Last week we learned that Rihanna is back in LA to begin rehearsals for her upcoming new tour Last Girl on Earth but she’s also found ways to keep bizzy when she is not working on her new tour. Ri Ri, who recently admitted that LA Dodgers baseball player Matt Kemp is her “boyfriend”, was in attendance at Opening Day at Dodgers Stadium here in LA yesterday to cheer on the home team … as well as her extra, special Dodgers player Matt Kemp:

After months of being coy over her burgeoning romance with Los Angeles Dodgers player Matt Kemp, Rihanna has made her debut as a baseball WAG. Sitting in the front row at the first home game for the new season, the R&B singer cheered and whooped as her new love scored a home run against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Looking like a regular baseball fan in her blue Dodgers hoodie, Rihanna, 22, watched her outfielder beau, 25, intently during the game’s nine innings. Her attendance proved to be somewhat of a lucky charm for the team, who won the game 9-5. Although she’s set to kick off her four month Last Girl On Earth world tour on Friday, she’ll no doubt try and squeeze in a few games before the baseball season wraps in October. Hopefully Rihanna will have some time later this year to support Kemp if the Dodgers hit the World Series finals – which they last won in 1988.

I’m afraid that Rihanna‘s touring schedule is likely to keep her from attending many more Dodger games but I’m sure she’ll be rooting for the boys in blue in her heart. I’m actually very surprised and happy to see that Ri Ri and Matt are still together, going strong. Ratt Hemp looked so in lurve when they holidayed in Mexico together back in January … it’s nice to see that their affair is more than a fling. This Summer, I’m hoping to catch Rihanna on tour and I’m planning on catching a few Dodgers games as well. Mebbe I’ll be lucky enough to run into Ratt Hemp in the same place at the same time.

After a few delays, the 'Nothing But Love' World Tour hits the UK
Whitney Houston Kicks Off Europeon Leg Of Her World Tour

Last week we learned that Whitney Houston was forced to postpone the start of the European leg of her Nothing But Love World Tour due to illness (an illness that continued to force the postponement of a few more shows in addition) but last night in Birmingham, England our dear Whitney took to the stage at the LG Arena to start up her tour once again. I think it’s safe to say that it wasn’t the smoothest show that Whitney has prolly performed in her storied career but overall I sounds like she held everything together … pretty much. Here are a few photos and some deets from last night’s show:

After canceling the first three U.K. dates of her comeback tour following her respiratory infection, Whitney Houston was back on stage at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England on April 13. Entering the stage in white shimmery outfit, she told the crowd, “I’m feeling pretty good myself. Thank you for asking.” When performing two songs from her latest album “I Look to You” in the beginning of the concert, Whitney got some trouble with her microphone, but one of her people was quick to hand her a replacement. “My head mic broke… but I always have a spare,” she joked. “It has been a long time since I’ve been to Birmingham but what a pleasure it is to be here,” she continued. “I thank you for your love and loyalty. Tonight I want you to enjoy yourselves, have a good look, do your thing. If you want to sing along to me, sing in the right key – I’ve seen ‘X Factor’. I know Simon [Cowell] too.” After around six songs were delivered, Whitney exited the stage to catch her breath, take a brief rest and change her clothes. “Thank you for being patient. I heard you got a little pissed off while I changed my clothes and dried off. But I’m here now,” she said upon her return. The set list of her “Nothing But Love” Tuesday concert included “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, “I’m Every Woman”, “I Will Always Love You”, “All My Love for You”. Saved as the last treatment before the lights were off was “Million Dollar Bill”.

Dang … poor Whitney can’t seem to catch a break right now. I know she postponed a string of shows so that she could rest and be ready to hit the stage with a vengeance but I suspect technical problems coupled with some lingering illness proved to be her ultimate undoing last night. It may take a few shows for the dear lady to warm up again and hit her stride … but I’m glad to see that she is soldiering on. Keep doing your thing, Whitney … keep on, keepin’ on.

"Sue Sylvester, dance on air"

On Monday I teased a few screencaps from the upcoming episode of Glee titled The Power of Madonna and on Tuesday night, Fox aired the world premiere of Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch) performing in full a music video homage to Madonna‘s Vogue video. In case you missed it or just want to see it again, you can watch it in full right here, right now:

OMG … I love this so much. It is a perfect reproduction of the original video and just Glee enough to make it a bit more awesome. This has to be my fave musical performance of the entire Glee series thus far. You’ll have to wait until next week to see how this video fits into the episode storyline but, as I said before, you will not be disappointed. Is this not amazing? I LOOOOOVE IT! I hope you do, too :)
