Photos From The ‘Glee’ Issue Of TV Guide Magazine

On Monday we got to see the Madonna-fied cast of Glee on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of TV Guide magazine and late last night we got to see an AMAZING music video of Glee‘s Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch) doing her best Vogue. Right now, we get to see some of the photos that are included in the Glee/Madonna issue of TV Guide which features the main ladies in the cast (and Matthew Morrison) rocking different Madonna looks:

Clearly, Vogue was a HUGE inspiration for the upcoming all Madonna song-ep of Glee which will air next Tuesday. But what other Madonna looks served as points of inspiration? Find out after the jump …

‘Showgirls’ Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary

In recent weeks, we’ve been hearing about plans for 2 upcoming sequel films (HERE and HERE) to the classic 1995 X-ratedly campy film Showgirls and today we learn that the original film will be celebrated with a special edition 15th anniversary Blue Ray/DVD release! Titled The Sinsational Edition, Showgirls will be made available in a new release that not only includes the ridiculous (yet fun) film but also a bonus disc that includes stripper lessons! How cool is that?!

The show is about to begin. Sex, seduction and betrayal come together in the outrageously unforgettable camp classic Showgirls: 15th Anniversary Sinsational Edition, hitting the strip on Blu-ray June 15 from MGM Home Entertainment. It’s Vegas, baby, and Nomi’s (Elizabeth Berkley) dreams and desires to make it big are as sharp as a stiletto heel. When she catches the eye of Cristal (Gina Gershon), the Stardust’s sexy headliner, Nomi is on the brink of living her dream. But she soon realizes that there is only room for one starlet on the marquee… and that either she or Cristal will have to take the fall! A sinfully lusty film no one should miss, Showgirls also stars Kyle MacLachlan and Robert Davi as the men in the middle of this Sin City cat fight. The Blu-ray edition is busting with special features including the “Pole Dancing: Finding Your Inner Stripper” featurette, a lap dance tutorial from the world-famous Girls of Scores, commentary from Showgirls connoisseur David Schmader, a full-length trivia track and more. The Showgirls: 15th Anniversary Sinsational Edition two disc set includes the Blu-ray disc and standard DVD and will be available for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

DVD Specs: (Catalog # M122169)
·Pole Dancing: Finding Your Inner Stripper
·Lap Dance Tutorial Featuring the World-Famous Girls of Scores
·“The Greatest Movie Ever Made” – A Commentary by David Schmader
·Showgirls Fact-Up Trivia
·A Showgirls Diary

LOL!! This movie is amazing … I just re-watched it again in full a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. Sure, the movie is terrible but if you see it for what it’s worth, it really is a good time. I remember seeing Showgirls in theaters when it was released as because it was rated X (well, NC-17 … which is the new X rating), I had to show my I.D. before they’d let me in the theater. Ahh … good times. I’m sure there are a few Showgirls fans out there who might be interested in adding this new release to their collections. Showgirls: 15th Anniversary Sinsational Edition will hit stores in about 2 months time. Wee!

Adam Lambert Does Japanese ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine

Last year’s American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert may have graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine last Summer but he is featured on the cover and in the pages of the Japanese version of the mag this year. Here is our first look at Glambert on the cover of the NEW issue of Rolling Stone Japan:

Between the two issues, I think I prefer this cover of RS to the one we saw last year. After the jump, check out some photos from the accompanying photoshoot which, if you can believe it, aren’t all that dramatic …

"I’ll always see myself as young at heart. I mean, I’m 25"
Kellan Lutz Does ‘Interview’ Magazine

Kellan Lutz, star of Twilight and the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, is featured in the pages of the new issue of Interview magazine. Kellan was interviewed by Mark Jacobs (who is a writer and not THE Marc Jacobs) for the mag and features in a sexy shower room photospread. Here is one of Kellan‘s Interview magazine photospread photos along with some excerpts from his interview with Jacobs:

Actor, action-movie star, farmhand, Calvin Klein underwear model, and nascent motivational speaker, Kellan Lutz is the man of the moment. The determined 25-year-old Lutz has made a name for himself with roles as a cocky, good-looking jock with rich parents on CW’s 90210, a soldier stationed in Iraq in HBO’s Generation Kill (2008), and a vampire in the Twilight series—a trifecta of mainstream masculinity. He is a superhero-in-waiting, unbothered by an unbuttoned shirt, and thirsty for a franchise phenomenon of his own. Born in North Dakota and raised in Arizona with frequent visits to the family farm in Iowa, Lutz has a backstory that is authentically rugged and thoroughly American—a Bruce Weber–esque narrative that became an actual Bruce Weber narrative in 2004 when Lutz appeared, photographed by Weber, on the cover of the A&F Quarterly magazine. But it’s Hollywood time now, and Lutz is hard at work. There’s this month’s A Nightmare on Elm Street remake; a turn as a hotheaded lacrosse player opposite fellow Twilight-er Ashley Greene in Warrior; the independent murder mystery Meskada with Nick Stahl and Grace Gummer; and then, most importantly, more Twilight (the third installment, Eclipse, is out in June). Lutz believes in paying it forward and the laws of attraction. Even stray pups follow him home.

MARK JACOBS: Hi, Kellan? Where are you right now?
KELLAN LUTZ: I am in my backyard in L.A. hanging out with my two dogs.

JACOBS: You spent time on a dairy farm in Iowa while you were growing up?
LUTZ: Iowa is where the big farm was, where my grandparents lived. After my parents divorced, we would visit them. My mom would send me out to the pigpen, where we had these huge, huge pigs. I would stand there for six hours holding a hose, watering pigs. They’d dive in the mud and shake it off, and I’d go home covered in it. I loved the whole thing of getting wet and dirty and then getting in a warm bath.

JACOBS: You also have experience spraying crops and building silos. Are you aware of how this story reads in New York and L.A.? Anything involving uncontrived hard labor is irresistible to the style industry.
LUTZ: I’d rather do manual labor than sit behind a desk. And as my grandparents got older, I’d fly out there and help out around the farm. We’d tear barns down; we’d build barns. I’d rather be outside rolling hay or driving the tractors.

JACOBS: Then how did you choose Hollywood?
LUTZ: I have a lot of older brothers who messed up in different ways in my mother’s eyes. So I learned from all of their mistakes. I can’t go into detail, but while I was growing up, I always tried to make it a goal to relieve some of the stress my mother went through. I applied myself to school very diligently. I wanted to go out of state so I wouldn’t have to depend on my mother. And L.A., where my father lived, seemed to call to me.

JACOBS: Why acting?
LUTZ: In L.A., I was meeting people who were all actors. My mind started to open up to what acting was. I didn’t realize that Brad Pitt was a real person. I didn’t think he was a robot or a machine, but I thought you were just born into acting—that it’s a family tree, kind of like NASCAR. No one can just say, “Hey, I’m going to be a NASCAR driver.” They need to have some way in. Once I was in L.A., I realized anyone could do this. Why not give it a shot? I started going to a ton of acting classes, and I found I had a real passion for it, probably the biggest passion I’ve ever had in my whole life. So I decided to put school aside, put all my scholarships aside, put everything that I worked hard on for my mother and myself aside, and pursue this roller-coaster ride.

The TV Guide
A Whole New World

Last night David and I were invited to a dinner party at the new home of our dear friends Ollie and Caleb. The couple live in a part of downtown LA that I had never been to before and it was like visiting an entirely new city. Ollie and Caleb cooked an amazing meal and we had a blast just hanging out with them for the whole night:

David and I are so lucky to have so many good friends … and we dearly love Ollie and Caleb so much. They are, seriously, the coolest kids we know and word cannot express how much they mean to us. They are always so warm and welcoming, happy to share everything they have … you really couldn’t ask for better friends. Now that Ollie and Caleb are in a new part of town, we have more reason to visit their neighborhood to get to know a whole new part of LA better. We may not get to hang out with these two exclusively very often but when we do, it is always a great time.

I have a few things to take care of tonight so it’ll be a mostly quiet day. I surely hope your Hump Day is going well (and fast) :)

HOLY SHIZZZZZZZZZ!!!
Joss Whedon To Direct ‘The Avengers’

In amazing geeky news that will surely rip a massive hole in the time/space continuum, Variety is reporting that Buffyverse master Joss Whedon has been hired to direct the big screen adaptation of the Marvel comic book series The Avengers. Whedon will be helming the film that will cull together all of the biggest Marvel superheroes — Iron Man (played by Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (played by Chris Evans), Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), The Incredible Hulk (played by Ed Norton), Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) and MORE! I can’t even wrap my head around how amazing this news is … news of this magnitude is what the word epic was made for. Read on for the deets on this amazing development in geekdom:

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Incredible Hulk will soon start taking orders from Joss Whedon. Marvel Studios is wrapping up a deal for Whedon to helm “The Avengers,” which assembles the superheroes in one pic on May 4, 2012, that Paramount will distribute. Whedon will also rework Zak Penn’s script. Whedon, a favorite among fanboys, most recently penned the script for “Cabin in the Woods,” a horror pic that he is also producing for MGM. Pic co-stars Chris Hemsworth, who plays the hammer-wielding Thor. The creator of series like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Firefly” and more recently “Dollhouse,” all for Fox, has been close to helming a superhero pic before, namely “Wonder Woman” for Joel Silver at Warner Bros., but Whedon wound up ankling the project due to creative issues. He directed episodes of those series, and recently helmed an episode of Fox’s “Glee.” “Serenity” is his sole film directing credit. The sci-fi western, distribbed by Universal in 2005, was based on the short-lived “Firefly.” “The Avengers” extends Whedon’s long relationship with Marvel. He wrote for the comicbook company’s “Astonishing X-Men” series. “The Avengers” would star Robert Downey Jr. (as Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Hemsworth (Thor) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury). Edward Norton may also return as the Hulk. “Iron Man 2″ bows May 7, followed by “Thor” on May 6, 2011, and “The First Avenger: Captain America” on July 22, 2011. Paramount will distribute.

I don’t even know what to say … to merely suggest that this is, quite possibly, the coolest thing to happen EVER in the history of mankind would be a bit of an understatement. I’m not even kidding. A movie of this magnitude in the hands of Whedon and his genius is just … unbelievable. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that movie studio big wigs would entrust such a massive undertaking in the hands of the honest to goodness BEST person for the job. I pray that things go well in the years leading up to the film’s creation and release. If things work out the way I think they will, Joss Whedon‘s masterful talent will overtake the planet … and may bring World Peace. Okay … so I may be getting out of hand with all the hyperbole but in all seriousness … this news is really mind-blowing. While I freak the eff out, tell me what you think? Is this the best news ever or what?

This weekend!!
Ryan Phillippe To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’

This weekend hottie actor Ryan Phillippe will be hosting Saturday Night Live and NBC just released a video of promo clips for his upcoming gig. Here are a few screencaps of Ryan announcing this weekend’s upcoming ep of SNL alongside SNL castmember Will Forte:

As you may already know, Phillippe and Forte will be co-starring in a feature film adaptation of the SNL skit McGruber so I expect they’ll be doing a McGruber skit together this weekend. While I am not convinced that SNL skits are really strong enough to make viable films, I’m willing to give Ryan Phillippe the benefit of the doubt. After the jump, check out the promo vid for Ryan‘s upcoming SNL hosting gig …

Never fear, no spoilers here
‘Sex And The City 2’ Releases A Newer Batch Of Promo Photos

Last week the second Sex and the City 2 movie trailer was released and earlier this week we got to see the second SaTC 2 movie poster … today we get to see a new batch of promo photos from the film. Now, I was hesitant to even look at these photos when I came upon them (for fear that seeing any more promo materials might ruin my enjoyment of the film before I even get to see it) but happily discovered that they are not at all plot spoilery. Considering how the movie posters for the film are very Carrie Bradshaw centric, I thought it would be nice to see photos of the other SaTC ladies as well … check ‘em out:

Carrie Bradshaw’s new adventure has been highlighted in a bunch of new pictures from “Sex and the City 2″ … Most of the stills show Sarah Jessica Parker’s character and her friends having great time as they arrive in Abu Dhabi. In addition to the images which give preview to their journey in the sandy country, there are also photos which feature the ladies in New York City. One particular picture, meanwhile, captures Carrie having a conversation with Chris Noth’s Mr. Big. Official synopsis for the forthcoming movie has not been released … Set two years after the end of the first film, “Sex and the City 2″ has Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis returning to reprise their respective roles. Penelope Cruz and Miley Cyrus also make cameo appearances in the drama comedy, which is set to arrive in the U.S. on May 27.

These kinds of promo photos are great because they tease the film without giving away anything that might spoil the plot. There are rampant rumors about what will transpire in this upcoming sequel film (not to mention the surprises that have already been featured in the officially released promo trailers) but these photos just show the ladies (and gentleman) lookin’ fab. Check out a few more promo photos after the jump …
