Last week we got our first listen to the Runaways song Cherry Bomb as performed by Dakota Fanning featuring Kristen Stewart, stars of the upcoming biopic The Runaways. Today we get our first look at the official new Cherry Bomb music video … here are a few screencaps:
At last … in this music video we get to see the other young actress who play the other members of The Runaways in the film! It’s not a bad video but I like the song so … that’s to be expected. After the jump, check out the video and judge for yourselves …

She is tooooooo young! As a mother to a 13yr. old I just wanna throw a jacket over her and take her home! I don’t think I could watch this movie and not think of her as a 15 year old kid trying to be a grown up! I did a lot of stupid things at 15 that caused me lose that innocence and grow up too fast. I hope that doesn’t happen to her.
They look like little kids playing dress up, and Stewart looks like a man.
@lady surgeon – cherie curry WORE a similar lingerie outfit when singing cherry bomb. they didnt make dakota wear underware because it was risque, but because it was historically accurate.
dakota is just portraying a character. you should be more bothered by the fact that a 15 year old cherie curry actually LIVED that life.
I think the girls make a real decent effort. I really CAN’T imagine them (or anybody else) doing something that we would prefer over the originals. So, good job, I say. I’ve listened to the soundtrack over at YouTube and I believe Dakota looks stronger that Kirsten. The best song, IMO, is Dead End Justice, where Kirsten might have juuust done a tad better than Dakota … Anyways, I think that was their best.
I had the same thoughts about being disturbed by Dakota Fanning’s age…then the same thing that Mimi above points out occurred to me – Cherie Currie was living that life and dressing that way…and lets face it – teen girls today dress far more provacatively than they should and Dakota Fanning when dressed as herself doesn’t come across that way at all.
First of all I’m shocked at how grown up Dakota Fanning is. Second, I can’t believe how awesome her voice is. I think I like her version BETTER believe it or not. I can’t believe I just said that.
I’m almost having a hard time believing it’s actually her singing. If it is, well great match for the part then.

Dakota is a great young actress. And people aren’t seeming to realise that that’s what she’s doing, acting. Just because she’s playing a ‘troubled’ character doesn’t mean that reflects who she really is herself.

I don’t see the problem with a 15 year old Dakota ACTING for this part. Last time i read the tabloids she’s not out getting fucked up and wasted every two seconds like most of these girls in hollywood, its a movie not her life she’s grounded and obviously a good kid from what I see and hear.
I loved the new video just because there is more to watch then them standing there but the songs are equally good in my ears.
I’m excited for the movie and cant wait to see how these young girls do portraying such old souls i’d guess you’d say.
