‘The Runaways’ Releases A Final Movie Trailer
"That looks terrible!" "Good."
Last Thursday we got our first look at the newly released TV commercial for The Runaways and earlier this week we got our first listen to Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart performing the Runaways hit song Cherry Bomb. Today we get our first look at the FINAL movie trailer to be released for The Runaways before the film opens on March 19:

By far, this is the best preview trailer yet. I love it. The focus is more on Dakota Fanning‘s Cherie Currie character … and I think that is where the strength of the film will lie. I’m excited for this film, that’s for sure. After the jump, check out this new trailer for The Runways in full …
Click HERE to watch the trailer on You Tube should this embed not work for you. Yeah, this movie totally looks like The Joan Jett & Cherie Currie Show … but I’m still interested. I think Dakota Fanning is a fine actress … she may be the strongest part of this film. March 19 can’t get here soon enough for me. Wee!! Girl Power!!

I just got goosebumps! But then I realized I left the window next to me open…
I agree, I think Fanning will really shine here, I’m hopeful for Stewart’s performance to be better than expected, but to me Fanning really stands out in the trailers.
i think dakota fanning is an amazing actress and im sure she will shine in this movie.. but i’m really disturbed that she’s wearing lingerie.. isn’t she around 15 years old?
The movie is based on Cherie Currie’s autobiography so I think it will focus the most on her.
Looks like Fanning’s all grown up! Hope she makes the transition smoothly, so far so good.
I don’t understand why people are making Dakota wearing lingerie a big deal. I mean, yeah, she’s 15-years-old but most 15-year-old’s are popping out babies or doing drugs. It isn’t really anything new. And this is for a movie role. Linda Blair was 13 when she played a possessed victim…need I continue?
I absolutely can’t wait!!!
chase- i adore you.
for the first comment. the funny one.
and for me i dont like the lingere on a 15 year old ’cause i dont like kids to be sexualized. or possessed really, but thats another matter.
I think there is a big difference between being a “victim of possession” and being a sexualized adolescent. HUGE. One of those things isn’t even real! However, I think that Dakota has shown that she has the mental health to handle mature roles. Plus, this is a true story and that is what the actual person wore at that age.
Dakota’s was 15 when she filmed this and Cherie was 15/16 when she joined the Runways and started wearing lingerie as part of her onstage performance, look up Cherrybomb on youtube and you’ll see a very similar get-up on Cherie.
Dakota was playing a character, hopefully she’ll go the Ron Howard, Jodie, Foster Elizabeth Taylor route (not the Lindsey Lohan path) and pick projects that help her grow and keep her busy.
they’ve taken a recently turned 16 yr old and made her look so much older…thats just wrong to me…
I want more Lita and Sandy!
@Jenn – Thank you! I adore you too. : )
@Kristy – Wait, what? Are you saying being possessed isn’t real or…what? The Exorcist is inspired by a true story. The Exorcism of Emily Rose is based on Anneliese Michel’s case. Google Anneliese Michel; it’s pretty damn scary. Of course, it just depends on what you believe in, too.
I really like Dakota Fanning. She’s blossoming into quite the actress. I hope to see her go further with her career and become a superstar!
Dakota is playing a *real life* character in a movie. Cherie Currie was 15 years old when she formed The Runaways. I really don’t get why people are having trouble grasping this?
Cherie Currie was sexualised —> Dakot Fanning is playing her in a movie. What is so hard to understand about that?
Dakota obviously…not Dakot
@Sabrina – cherie curry wore a lingerie outfit in “cherry bomb” which is why dakota is wearing it. they didn’t just put her in lingerie for the sake of putting her in lingerie, it’s an iconic cherie currie costume!
This looks pretty good. Fanning is going to make this movie…. but DEAR LORD, Kristen Stewart is a god awful actress!
