The biopic The Runaways won’t hit theaters for a couple of weeks but right now we get to hear actresses Kristen Stewart (who plays Joan Jett) and Dakota Fanning (who plays Cherie Currie) singing the Runaways hit song Cherry Bomb!
I gotta admit … they sound pretty damn good. I’m guessing their vocals were autotuned to perfection for the soundtrack but still … they sound like the real Runaways. They’re not bad, right? I’m really anxious to see this film … if the movie is half as decent as this song is, I think I’ll be satisfied. What do y’all think … do we like this ong?

they sound awesome. i really believe their vocals weren’t tinkered with too much.. kristen and dakota wanted to be authentic as possible and they can both sing. sounds fantastic!
I just wouldn’t have expected these two actresses to completely transform themselves into these iconic women..Kristen Stewart always seems like this totally shy and introverted chick and Dakota Fanning is just so young and innocent..But look at them! They look and sound like total badasses! I can’t wait for this movie! I hope it’s as good as it looks..

I like this version a lot better than the original! It’s more upbeat. I downloaded the original and it’s OK, pretty good, but not as great as this one, I think. : )

i have to say i am pretty impressed!!!! looking forward to the movie. saw a trailer on the big screen on shutter island. i was pretty stoked!
I’m with LC, some of this stuff with Dakota is getting a little skeevy. I know she is playing a character…but it is getting a little close to being too much. They do sound great though.
Cherry Bomb is an awful song to begin with, so if anything, Dakota improved it.

It sounds identical to the original, so I don’t know what people are talking about.
Dakota is only depicting what happened in real life when Cherie was 15!
Eh, some parts are different from the original. While I like this version, I do think that I like the original better.

I like it! Dakotas voice still has that little lisp. Her and Stew are amazing. I cannot wait to see this movie. Also the comments about her being 15 make me laugh. They have no idea who The Runaways are if they are saying that.
