Lindsay Lohan, who was recently fired as creative director of the esteemed fashion house Emanuel Ungaro after she failed to produce a high fashion line that would sell, has reportedly teamed up with the tragic “fashion house” Ed Hardy (EEK!) to produce a line of handbags that will surely push the levels of tacky fugness to new heights … here are the deets of this new unholy union:

A source exclusively reveals to us that Linds is in talks with the L.A.-based clothing company to launch a new line of handbags. “Lindsay and the design team at Ed Hardy have mutual friends, and they knew she was interested in looking for a handbag license and partner,” our source says. “They thought she’d be a good fit and so did she.” So far, it sounds like the collaboration is running smoothly. “As of last week, there are three collections in development and numerous more are expected,” our source says. “Lindsay is very directly involved with the project, and she’s always pulling things online and from magazines for ideas.” This isn’t Lohan’s first involvement in the handbag business. In 2007, she was the celeb face of Jill Stuart handbags, and in 2004, she did the same for Dooney & Bourke … No word yet on when the Lohan-Ed Hardy collaboration will be released.
Ugh. It’s just all so … tragic. It’s beyond tragic … I’m not sure what more tragic than tragic can be called … but if there is such a word for this level of tragedy, it would be a great way to describe Lindsay Lohan teaming up with Ed Hardy. Ugh. To think, she previously worked with great brands like Jill Stuart, Dooney & Bourke and Emanuel Ungaro … and now she’s working with a “fashion” line that is popular among castmembers of MTV‘s Jersey Shore. To fall from such great heights …. ah, Lindsay.
What could possibly make this story even sadder? Well, how about photos of a sloppy-lookin’ Linds falling face-first into a cactus as she stumbled out of a house party here in SoCal this week? Check out those photos, after the jump …

Falling over can be embarrassing – and painful – at the best of times. But doing so in front of a frenzy of flashbulbs, and toppling onto a spiky cactus in the process, kind of tops the lot. Gravity got the better of a worse for wear Lindsay Lohan as she arrived at a friend’s house in Hollywood last night, tottering in a pair of lethally-high heels. The American actress emerged from a car with a pal looking a little lethargic as she stalked past photographers. But moments later, perhaps disorientated by all the cameras going off, the Mean Girls star lost her footing and fell into a stony bed of plants. She was dragged up again by her male companion and a few of the photographers who weren’t busily snapping away also lent a hand. Earlier in the evening Lindsay, 23, had been to the trendy new hotspot Trousdale on Sunset Boulevard. But she was given no star treatment as she queued for 15 minutes to get inside. She was held up at the entrance to the Hollywood club as there was a private party going on and the star wasn’t on the list. A rep told website E! Online: ‘Last night was a private event with a guest list. The lounge is open for business on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so any events on other nights are private.’ However, Lohan was not impressed and wrote on Twitter: ‘I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life, this is why I never come to LA – isn’t security, after I respect them and their work and tip. / That was scary, mean, arrogant, and unnecessarily aggressive. I pick new york jus like Jay-Z…. Wouldn’t you?’
LMAO … this is all just … sad. I thought Lindsay said she was planning a move to London? At least there, if she goes tumbling she’ll be spared from getting a face full of cactus … she’s more likely to fall into a double-decker bus. Well, for her sake, I hope her Ed Hardy bags (as fug as they are surely to be) will bring her some modicum of success … I fear another failure might be too much for her to handle ;(
