Yeah, Steve Lillywhite has a kind of crazy name, but he is a HUGE producer on a lot of major stuff. I know of him because I’m a big Joan Armatrading fan and he did I think some or all of her albums. He’s to my taste a tiny bit Phil Spector “wall of sound” school,”\ but this guy will obviously know his stuff well and if he’s sociable and flamboyant enough to campaign for a judge’s seat, I bet he’d be a compelling, smart, and fun panelist. I mean, who ever heard of Simon Cowell before American Idol (and why do we care waht he thinks), and Lillywhite has done stuff, real stuff, excellent stuff, in the music biz.
I gotta say, I feel like Shia’s interview was in bad taste. It’s not his place to be talking about Michael’s family troubles.
I hope they were taken out of context somehow.
I bet Michael is not very pleased.
Lillywite also produced Dave Mathews Band’s Crash, Under the Table and Before These Crowded Streets, which are their best albums. He also produced albums for U2, Jason Mraz, Morrisey, The Rolling Stones and Guster.
He’d definitely know talent.

Why is Roseanne Barr sick and offensive?? She’s reacting to a sad situation and voicing her opinions, much like we are.
The Mormon faith seems complicated and I sure don’t understand how it works. But I do know that if they do not accept people that are gay, then being a gay depressed teenager in a Mormon family would be incredibly difficult. I hope the Osmond family is supporting each other in such a difficult time.
I commend Rosanne Barr’s commentary…she speaks the truth and let it be a lesson to all families with teens in the coming-out process.
@ Hapyns- it was the wrong time to say it when Marie just lost her son.
this kid has had issues all his life and we don’t know if religion played a role in it. Roseanne’s comments were judgmental and with out facts because she is basing it on her hatred for religion. the bible says to love and not judge, unfortunately many people do not follow this well because we are ALL judgmental whether you are religious or not.
Steve Lilllywhite produced Tinderbox by Siouxsie and the Banshees if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, no time would ever be good to say what she said. The problem is that if she had waited, then it would not have had the same impact, or even made any headlines. Sad situation, many opinions, no one will ever win an argument that involves religion or suicide.
