Gisele Bündchen Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine
“I felt like my pregnancy was a sacred moment for me"

Gisele Bündchen, supermodel extraordinaire and new mom, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue magazine … who posed for the mag just 6 weeks after giving birth. As you may recall, Gisele and hubby Tom Brady welcomed the birth of their first child together — a boy named Benjamin Reinin early December. It wasn’t until early February that we got our first look at little Benjamin Rein. Today we get another peek at Gisele‘s baby boy in the pages of Vogue, as well as a sneak peek at her coverstory interview. Here is Gisele‘s Vogue coverphoto and excerpts from her accompanying interview:

Devoted to health, wellness, and the trials and triumphs of shape and size, VOGUE’s annual April tribute to the female form, the Shape Issue, is replete with stories that range from the inspirational to the poignant, but all celebrate a love for life … The model of health itself, Gisele Bündchen is a natural choice to grace the cover of the April Shape Issue. Only six weeks after giving birth, Gisele opens the doors to her Boston home to VOGUE Contributing Editor Joan Juliet Buck and shares intimate details about the birth of her baby boy with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, her new beauty line developed to empower troubled young girls around the world, and her efforts to save the environment. In a stunning editorial shot by Patrick Demarchelier, the model enjoys the beaches of Costa Rica and shows off her new baby, Benjamin Rein.

Gisele on her baby’s name, Benjamin Rein: “I wanted him to be called River because I wanted something always flowing, immortal. My husband said, ‘There’s no way we’re going to call him River.’ But my father’s name is Reinoldo, so it’s a homage to him. And it’s like water.”

On staying in shape while pregnant: “I did kung fu up until two weeks before Benjamin was born, and yoga three days a week. I think a lot of people get pregnant and decide they can turn into garbage disposals. I was mindful about what I ate, and I gained only 30 pounds.”

On keeping out of the public eye: “I felt like my pregnancy was a sacred moment for me. I stayed in Boston and I didn’t work apart from the contracts I have, and then I only let them use my face.”

On her first time behind the camera since her son was born: “I got to the studio and I felt like I was E.T.—whoa, what’s going on? Hair and makeup? I hadn’t looked at myself in a mirror for a month and a half… Usually, as I walk through the door into that atmosphere, I already feel different. There’s a button that goes On and I’m On. And when I go On, there is almost no me; there is just a character who is doing all this. This time it wasn’t like that… For the first time, I think I actually saw me—the inside—instead of the persona.”

Only a paragon of perfection like Gisele could give birth to a baby and 6 weeks later look this good for Vogue magazine. OY! After the jump, check out a few photos from Gisele‘s Vogue photoshoot including a pic of her still pregs, a pic of her with baby Ben and more …

What beautiful photos! Gisele is just a beauty, plain and simple. The pic of her with Benjamin is just to die for. This issue of Vogue magazine is a must own … I’ll be sure to pick up a copy when it hits newsstands. Aren’t these photos just the best? Talk about your Earth Mother, indeed!

Yes, she looks amazing. But she just seems unlikeable to me. Is it the rag mag influence? Maybe. That and well, she has my Tom and now his baby! *itch!! lol

Ugggh I just don’t like her! IDK why – I just don’t. Maybe it’s the whole being w/Tom Brady while Bridget Moynihan was having his other baby…or maybe it’s the whole calling the baby still her baby, IDK. But to act like everyone in the world could or should look like her 6 mos after having a baby is ridiculous. Most people won’t…she’s a beautiful genetic freak.

  3. SuziLee says:

Ooops meant calling the other baby Tom Brady had hers.

Meg: my daughter was born by c-section. It didn’t stop me from losing weight and was NOT the effect of eating too much. We are indivuduals. And we are called “individuals” because ..we are all unique, and each of us, women, at least our body, will answer differently. And you know, having 3 kids, that each pregnancy is different.

Ok Gisele looks good. But saying that women tend to act like garbage disposal is rude. She could have said “eat healthy”, or “do exercises for as long as you can” (but then I have a hard time picturing myself doing kung-fu or whatever 7 months pregnant).

Whatever. Really. We”re all differen. Our bodies are different. Thus, our bodies and minds will react differently once confronted with a pregnancy. But do not dare say that women act like “garbage disposals”. Do you sincerely think that ALL women in this world has even the finances to buy healthy foods or have time to exercise ???????

I’m confused, Giselle says in her cover story that her pregnancy time was sacred and she didn’t allow peeps to photograph her body – yet there is a photo of her pregnant body in this photo spread………

  7. Der says:

To all of you that say the pics are photoshoped, go check the new paps pics and feel like idiots, because it’s pretty obvious that the woman has a killer body.
