Last October, former Hollywood “It” Girl and current trainwreck Lindsay Lohan made her debut in the Fashion world as creative director for the the Emanuel Ungaro fashion house. Lindsay, in her capacity as creative director, had a hand in every single look that walked down the runway at that show. As a result, Emanuel Ungaro himself (who is no longer involved with running his design house) publicly called his company’s collaboration with Lohan a “disaster” … and many people agreed. It would seem that the powers that be at Ungaro have come to their senses and decided to sever ties with La Lohan … who confirmed this week that she “don’t work for [Ungaro] anymore”:

Actress Lindsay Lohan confirmed to WWD that she is no longer part of Ungaro’s design team. At Monday afternoon’s Kenzo show, Lohan was asked why she hadn’t been at Ungaro earlier that morning. She replied: “Because I don’t work for them anymore.” Prompted for more specifics, she noted, “There’s legal things going on; I can’t really discuss it.” After hiring Lohan last year, former Ungaro CEO and President Mounir Moufarrige told WWD, “Designer-led fashion is likely not to be enough. It’s a slow process going the traditional route.” Moufarrige stepped down last December and declined to comment on Lohan and Ungaro when reached on Monday.

And so … all is right, once again, in the Fashion world. Ya know, I’m all for Lindsay Lohan gettin’ her shizz straight and putting her life back together in a positive way but she really has no biz meddling with the work of famed design houses like Ungaro. It was a risky move to name her creative director but, as we saw, it was a move that did not pan out. I would’ve been shocked if Ungaro had decided to keep her on as an employee … this move is in their best interests, I’m certain of it. BUT, never you fear ye fans of Lohan Fashion … don’t forget that L. Lo has announced that she is launching her OWN LINE OF CLOTHING … so with or without Ungaro, she’s gonna keep trying to make the fashion thing work. I wish her well … but hold no hope for success. Homegirl needs to settle down for a while, chill out and just stop. It’s so sad to watch her slow degradation continue to move forward unfettered :(
