'Sex' and a new city
The ‘Sex And The City’ Ladies Do Las Vegas

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis were among the celebs who attended the ShoWest Convention in Las Vegas, NV yesterday to do some promo for new projects they’ve got coming on the horizon. The ladies (sans 4th castmember Kim Cattrall) not only made their way to Sin City to promote their upcoming film Sex and the City 2 but they were also in the hiz to be honored for their work in the first Sex and the City Movie. Here’s a pic of the threesome in LV yesterday:

Sarah Jessica Parker has always claimed her real-life dress sense is nothing like her Sex And The City character Carrie Bradshaw. But as she arrived at an event in Las Vegas to promote the upcoming movie sequel yesterday, Parker opted for a dress her fashionista alter-ego would have loved. The 44-year-old actress showed off her toned legs in an asymmetrical yellow mini-dress and nude coloured heels as she joined co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon at Warner Bros. ShoWest Presentation at the Paris Hotel. Missing out on all the fun was Kim Cattrall, who is currently starring in the London production of the Noel Coward play Private Lives. Instead Parker was joined by Davis and Nixon, who opted for equally eye-catching dresses. Nixon, 43, wore a brown, purple and beige shift dress, while Davis, 45, went for a rose-print pleated number. Nixon said fans shouldn’t expect to see the foursome getting up to their old tricks from the TV series. She said: ‘One of the things that has kept it so strong is that (writer-director) Michael Patrick King doesn’t try to take us through the same thing because it worked so well the last time. If we stayed the same, going out and drinking and having sex, we would turn into Absolutely Fabulous, which is not what we are. He has allowed us to age, and the audience has allowed us to come along for the ride.’ Later the three actresses glammed up for the ShoWest Final Night Talent Awards event where they were presented with an award for Best Ensemble cast in a film.

Fabulous!! The ladies look great, don’t they? After the jump, check out another group photo of the SaTC chicks at last night’s ShoWest Talent Awards where they picked up an award for the first SaTC Movie

She's playing a witch, again!
Rose McGowan Joins The Cast Of ‘Conan The Barbarian’

In January we learned that beefy Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz was being considered for the lead role in the upcoming remake film Conan the Barbarian … but while, sadly, Kellan did not get the lead role (Jason Momoa got the lead role), I am happy to pass along the news that one of my fave actresses has been added to the cast. Rose McGowan, who starred in the film Scream and on the TV series Charmed, has been cast as a witch in Conan … talk about your type-casting. Here are a couple photos of Rose lookin’ fab as hell in SoCal yesterday and some deets from Variety about the Conan casting:

Nu Image/Millennium Films has completed the cast for “Conan,” adding Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Rachel Nichols, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Leo Howard to star alongside Jason Momoa. Marcus Nispel began lensing Monday at Nu Boyana Studios, Nu Image’s facility in Sofia, Bulgaria. The film will be released domestically by Lionsgate. Based on the Robert E. Howard books, the film is written by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer, Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel and centers on the mythical hero driven to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village. Lang will portray a sadistic warlord, and McGowan is to play an evil half-human/half-witch. Howard appears as young Conan, and Perlman portrays Conan’s father. The film’s produced by Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson, Joe Gatta and Fredrik Malmberg. Exec producers are Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, George Furla and Henry Winterstern. The project’s been in development for a decade; Paradox had set it up at Warner Bros. but decided against a new rights deal three years ago and went to Nu Image instead.

While I PERSONALLY think that Kellan Lutz would make a better Conan the Barbarian, I’m willing to give Jason Momoa a chance at winning me over. I’m so pleased that Rose is part of the cast that I will DEFFO be seeing this film when it gets released. Incidentally, Charmed season 4 has just begun re-running on TNT TV this week and I’ve started gettin’ my McGowan fix again. It’ll be really fun to see her in a new movie … I can’t wait!!

They don't want her either
Lindsay Lohan Faces Banishment From India

In January we got our first look at a new documentary that seeks to highlight the horrors of child trafficking — which features Lindsay Lohan in India as the celebrity spokesperson — after she traveled abroad late last year to film her portions of the doc. You may recall that Lindsay falsely claimed that she personally helped save the lives of 40 children “in one day”, which sparked ire among the organizations that are truly trying to save children from trafficking because they felt she was trivializing the situation by making bold-faced lies about her involvement. Now the Indian government is taking note of Lindsay‘s illegal actions in their country … and they are considering banning her from ever entering their country again:

Hollywood actress and model Lindsay Lohan could be blacklisted by the Indian government following her trip to the country last December when she falsely claimed she had rescued 40 child workers. Her comments, which highlighted the plight of child labourers, ruffled feathers in India and alerted officials who discovered she had broken the country’s visa rules by travelling as a tourist while working on a BBC documentary. The Mean Girls star had arrived in India to film an expose of child labour and trafficking of women which was later broadcast on BBC3, but she provoked a row when she claimed to have personally rescued 40 children. In a series of updates on the social networking site Twitter, she boasted of her role in a daring raid on a child labour sweatshop and claimed the experience had changed her life. “Over 40 children saved so far … Within one day’s work … This is what life is about … Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!” she said. She later contrasted the superficiality of celebrity life with the satisfaction of social activism. “Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time … hope everyone can see that,” she said. But according to activists leading the raids, Ms Lohan did not arrive in India until after the raids had been completed and the children had been rescued. Some of them had been ‘sold’ by their parents for £25 and were working 17 hours per day for as little as £3 a month. Activists involved in the raids criticised her comments and accused her of trivialising the issue of child trafficking. Now she may not be able to visit India again after officials looked at her case and found she had failed to apply for a work visa for her trip. Senior civil servants in New Delhi are now studying the case and will rule on whether her name will be added to an immigration blacklist.

While I feel that Lindsay‘s heart is in the right place, I think it would be for the best if she stays away from involving herself in this kind of very important work. I can appreciate that she wants to help but her very nature seems to only serve to endanger and ruin the good work being done here. There is no way she is educated enough on the facts to really speak with any sort of authority and by involving herself illegally, she is seriously undermining the good work being done by the real heroes. To be honest … it’s prolly for the best if she is never allowed near India again. She really should stick with what does best … tho, I’m not really sure that is, honestly. In any event, Lindsay Lohan should deffo leave the life-saving to other, more qualified, folks.

Release Date Of New Janet Jackson Single Announced

Back in August of last year, Janet Jackson announced that she would be releasing a new album in the “first quarter of 2010″ and it would seem that time has not yet arrived. Janet‘s producer and ex-beau Jermaine Dupri announced on Twitter yesterday that a new Janet single, taken from her new soundtrack album from her new film Why Did I Get Married, Too?, will be released on March 30 … with still no word about her new album:

Titled “Nothing”, the song is recorded by the singer for the soundtrack of upcoming movie “Why Did I Get Married Too?”. Confirming the song’s release date is producer Jermaine Dupri in a short message on his Twitter. “OH AND ON THE 30th IS WHEN I RELEASE THE NEW JANET RECORD (NOTHING) FROM THE WDIGM 2 SOUNDTRACK JUS ALIL INFO FOR THE JANET FANS,” he wrote.
