Surprise! He plays a Big Bad
James Marsters Joins The Cast Of ‘Hawaii Five-0’

Great news, Buffyverse fans!! It is being reported that James Marsters, who played the vampire Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, has been cast in the new remake of the CBS TV series Hawaii Five-0! The news first broke on Marsters‘s official Facebook page but is already spreading like wildfire! Woot!!

CBS crime procedurals are big mainstream hits, but hardly the kind of shows that resonate with the geek culture. However, the new CBS pilot Hawaii Five-0 is certainly getting geek attention, thanks to the fanboy-friendly cast involved. With Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica) and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) both among the main cast, the latest Comic-Con friendly actor to take a notable role is Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel alum James Marsters, who has now revealed, via his official Facebook page, that he will appear in the pilot, “as the nemesis of lead character Jack McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin).”

This is fantastic news!! It’s unclear how permanent this role on Hawaii Five-0 will be for Marsters but if he is really going to play the protagonist’s “nemesis” then that implies a lasting adversarial relationship that should last for a while!! After the jump, read the deets as they were posted on James Marsters‘s Facebook page earlier this week …

But is able to send emails from the hospital bed
Michael Lohan Suffers A Heart Attack

Michael Lohan, estranged father of Lindsay Lohan and all around toolbag, suffered a minor heart attack yesterday while training in NY for an upcoming “celebrity” boxing match. Apparently, Lohan was having chest pains that began to radiate thru his arm … so he was immediately rushed to the hospital:

Lindsay Lohan’s dad had a heart attack today, according to his girlfriend/non-doctor Kate Major. Michael Lohan was taken to a hospital in New York after suffering chest pains that radiated to his arms. Kate says an EKG showed evidence of a heart attack. Kate says Michael is at St. Francis Hospital in Manhasset. She says Michael will undergo a “procedure” but wasn’t specific. Back on March 6, Michael suffered chest pains and was told by his doctor that he needed a heart catheterization.

The good news (depending on your perspective) is that Michael Lohan is resting comfortably in the hospital … the bad news (again, depending on your perspective) is that he will have to undergo a painful angioplasty operation to regulate his heart. Lohan was feeling well enough to send emails from his hospital bed. After the jump, read the latest update on his health directly from the man himself …

He also gets a tattoo in honor of his BFF
Corey Feldman Pens An Open Letter To The Late Corey Haim

While Corey Feldman, best friend of the late Corey Haim, was not in attendance at his BFF’s funeral in Toronto, Ontario yesterday, he did find a way to pay homage to his friend that he called “brother”. Feldman posted an open letter to Haim on his official website and also got a new tattoo in tribute of his late friend. The tattoo is meant to be a private joke between the two Coreys … here is what it looks like:

Corey Feldman skipped his best friend’s funeral yesterday, but he found his own way to pay tribute to Corey Haim last night — getting a big ol’ tattoo. Corey mourned his friend at T-Man Tattoo, a San Fernando Valley ink shop. The art features the numbers, 222. On his blog, in his open letter to Haim, Corey said correctly, “Nobody will understand the magic of 22/222.”

While we may never “understand the magic of 22/222″ we can take a gander at the open letter Feldman penned for Haim and perhaps get some clue? After the jump, read the full text of Corey Feldman‘s open letter to Corey Haim which is titled A Letter for the Grave

The former 'Buffy' star was tased, subdued & hospitalized by cops
Nicholas Brendon Busted!

Sad news from the Buffyverse today … it would appear that former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon got his St. Patrick’s Day celebration started a wee bit early because he was allegedly so inebriated last night that he went on a felony vandalism spree in Venice, CA last night. Poor Nicky, apparently in his drunken state, took a swing at the police who approached him last night before he tried to evade capture by running away. Out came the taser guns and down went Nicolas Brendonhe got busted, y’all:

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Nicholas Brendon fell short in the slaying department a few hours ago, after he allegedly swung at a couple of cops, and then went on a misguided foot chase. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they received a call that a drunk man was causing a commotion in Venice, CA. When police responded, sources say Brendon took a swing at cops. We’re told Brendon then beat a hasty retreat … Brendon was tased twice, subdued and taken to a hospital. He’s currently being booked for felony vandalism — for allegedly damaging some property during the fracas.

Ugh … this is so sad :( I understand that Brendon has had problems with the drink in the past, particularly in the days following the end of the BtVS TV series … it would appear that those demons reared their ugly heads last night. As you may recall, David and I saw Nicholas live on stage in The Santaland Diaries last November and he was great! I guess last night was just not one of his better nights :( I’m not certain but I believe this is Nicky‘s first arrest … hopefully, it’ll be his last :(

The moral of this sad tale? Beer Bad.
