On Tuesday we saw photos of Rihanna on the set of her latest music video for Rude Boy and today we get to see the final product. Rude Boy debuted online last night … here are a few screencaps from the video:
A lot of folks are saying that Rihanna is ripping off M.I.A. with the look of this video but, in all honesty, M.I.A. did not invent this look nor did she corner the market on utilizing the Jamaican dance hall motif. I love this video, I think you will too. Check it out in full after the jump …
This is a fun video … I really love the whole thing. It turned out so much better than I envisioned. Even the haters gotta recognize that Ri Ri is bringin’ the heat in this video, right? What do y’all think … do you love?

I loved the video. I love Rihanna. And for those ppl how keep saying she ripped off M.I.A. get over it. Artists almost always use other ppl’s work for inspiration. Its just the way things go.
Ok, this is just my opinion but her “riding” the animals was just nasty.

Also, if this video is ripping M.I.A off (which I don’t feel it is in the slightest), was Disturbia ripping off vids like Stupify by Disturbed? You know the whole asylum feel?
This vid more strikes me as a bit of a throw back to the 80s early 90s that she’s been doing with how she’s been dressing lately anyway.
And sorry, but I hate her hair.

i had no idea she had such a big ol booty! maybe its just those super tight patterned pants emphasizing it…or maybe that’s why she always wears such crazy fashion trends with emphasis on the shoulders…to counter balance the bootiliciousness :P
I am not a Rihanna lover anymore, but you are def right on this one. Vid is HOTT and she looks incredible, i love this style. The pics looked horrible but it came to life really well. Not a fan of the song too much tho.

Yea, i can’t help but just think sadness every time i see rihanna now, idk why. But it seriously seems like somethings snapped inside of her. I mean this song is hot but i just feel like its too much, especially since she has a lot of younger fans. I mean dang teenagers are already slutty enough, they don’t need this as a role model. She at least should have a line about protection or something lol
And is this going to be played on the radio? They had a field day in the news with britneys song If You Seek Amy which was just a freakin play on words.
First thing i thought when i saw the screencaps was MIA but i am a BIG MIA fan and i dont care. Like Trent said, MIA didn’t invent. NOR was her music vid that popular for everyone to even THINk it.
Its also very similar to her REHAB hit with the colours. Get over it people, jealous of her sexy looks and amazing legs and THOSE LIPS!
I really dont get why people always have to be “jealous” of someone when they dont like something.
I’m not exactly a Rihanna fan but I loved her in Unfaithful and Take a bow, for example. She was gorgeous and very attractive in those videos. However, I also dont like the way this is going. She is just slightly older than me and I understand that she experienced much more and much worse things than I have. But like others said, there’s such an angry and hard vibe coming from her lately, everything seems so forced.
It’s just not something I like, but that is just my opinion. Or maybe I’m just jealous.
I agree totally. I said that it reminded me of M.I.A. but I definitely don’t think that M.I.A. is the only one who should own the look. It’s for everybody.

I do like this video. I don’t know that I’ll ever Love her music. Video is hot though!
What is Rihanna thinking? Rihanna prides herself in being a good role model for young girls, but this music video is far from role model material. Not only is the song choice extremely suggestive, but her dancing is out of control slutty.
My two cents.
the fact that she actually put clothes on instead of just duct-taping some x’s over her nipples and rubbing a chicken wing on her body is enough to give this video two thumbs up.

As a Rihanna fan and a bigger MIA fan, I like the video but see similarities…which is totally fine.

It’s a good video for an otherwise not very exciting song. Good save, Rihanna. I really don’t like her like this though.
