The 2010 Golden Raspberry Award Nominations Have Been Announced
'Transformers 2' and 'Land of the Lost' are tied for the most Razzie Award noms

The nominations for the 2010 Academy Awards won’t be announced until early tomorrow morning but today we learn which films and actors have been nominated for the 2010 Golden Raspberry Awards. The Razzies, as they are more commonly known, annually honor the worst movies and acting performances of the previous year … the antithesis of the Oscars. This year, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost are tied for the most Razzie Award noms (7 each) and actors like Sandra Bullock, Eddie Murphy, Beyoncé and Billy Ray Cyrus have all been nominated among the various “Worst” categories:

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and “Land of the Lost” are tied for the most Razzie Award nominations, scoring seven chances each to take gold paint-sprayed statuettes hailing the worst films of 2009. Also noteworthy: two of this year’s Oscar players could also end up as Razzie stars when trophies are doled out one night before the Academy Awards gala. Oscar ceremony co-host Steve Martin is nominated for worst actor in “Pink Panther 2.” No other actor has ever been up for a Razzie the same year he or she emceed the Academy Awards, although Martin’s co-host on March 7, Alec Baldwin, was nominated for a Razzie in 2003 (worst supporting actor, “Cat in the Hat”). Sandra Bullock is considered an Oscar best actress front-runner for “The Blind Side,” but she’s also nominated for 2009′s worst actress for “All About Steve.” If Bullock claims both trophies, she’ll be the first star ever to pull off the dual win in the same year. Others have done so in nonacting categories. In 1992, Alan Menken won two Oscars for composing the music in “Aladdin” and a Razzie for a tune in “Newsies.” In 1997, Brian Helgeland reaped an Oscar for writing “L.A. Confidential” screenplay and a Razzie for penning “The Postman.” Two stars have been nominated for an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year for the same role, but they lost: James Coco (“Only When I Laugh”) and Amy Irving (“Yentl”). Halle Berry famously bagged a Razzie soon after her Oscar, but three years separated her wins for “Catwoman” (2004) and “Monster’s Ball” (2001). John Wilson, Razzie president and founder, tells Gold Derby that “Transformers 2″ creator Michael Bay is overdue for Razzie glory after a past worst-picture loss for “Armageddon” (1998) and two defeats for worst director: “Armageddon” and “Pearl Harbor” (2001). “Bay is totally talent-free and untouched by the muse,” Wilson says with a sigh. Wilson says that 2009 was such a banner year for bad movies that the Razzies considered expanding their worst-picture list to 10 nominees like the Oscars’ best-picture list, “but then I realized that our membership is only one-tenth of the academy, and it would have no meaning. It would be just like the Golden Globes where a movie can win with only 17 votes.” If the Razzies had expanded its top category, “Twilight: New Moon” would’ve been nominated for worst picture since it came in sixth place in the voting, so alas, it got snubbed.

LMAO … I love the Razzies. In this instance, being “only nominated” says a lot about the films and the performers … there’s no need to pick singular winners, they’re all losers in my book! I know that many folks are waiting with bated breath for the Academy Award nominations tomorrow morning but I am always looking forward to the Razzie noms … and this year did NOT disappoint :) After the jump, check out the full list of Razzie Award nominations and see who and what is in contention for the WORST that Hollywood had to offer last year …

  6. nicole says:

  7. jamie says:

  10. Ellen says:

I thought Land of the Lost was hysterical! If it doesn’t win an award…crapples!!! Will Farrell rules :)

  11. Chivonne says:

I like JLO as an actress minus like 2 movies. I don’t like the Razzie’s. I tend to take them to heart even tho it never really has anything to do with me. I guess for me it is more of the casting directors fault than the actual actor because they should have been told a long time ago BEFORE the movie was made that they suck and will be nominated for something like this if they continue. Does anyone else find it funny that some of the nominations were high grossing films? Hello Twilight?!

  12. JRad says:

Under ‘Worst Actress’, I think they spelt Miley Cyrus’ name wrong.

  13. J says:

I predict they’re gonna give the WORST ACTRESS to Sandra Bullock – mainly cause she is front runner for an Oscar, IF, nominated. That way it will be a win for each. can’t remember who, but only 1 or a few others have won an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year, if you could call that an accomplishment. But all those performances were horrific.

Megan Fox was the least Worst. All she did in Transformers was be hot and run and be part of big explosions. Beyonce – well, could you say try-hard? I remember her saying once how she only takes serious roles or something along those lines… obviously that was only for Dreamgirls and then she gave up. She tried to act too much like she is black, but hello, we can see that you are!

  14. Manda says:

How in the world did Kristin Stewart skip being nominated for worst actress? lol

  15. ChupaBob says:

Names are misspelled. Guys are nominated for bad actors after being in a documentary. I say that the Razzies have become nothing but a mutual love fest for playa-haters who no longer care if they make any sense or not. I have officially lost interest.

  16. Mz.Jonas/Cullen :) says:

Heres where ur wrong- THE JONAS BROTHERS WRE THE BEST ACTORS/SINGERS AND WILL BE FOR ALL ETERNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U award givers SUCK!!!!

  17. Anonymous says:

I really hate the Razzies. They are just plain mean at the movies that people spent HARD WORK at making. And I could be wrong, but nominating someone as “Worst Actor/Actress” would probably just offend them. STOP CRITICIZING HARDLY-WORKED MOVIES RAZZIES!!!
