Celebrities of varying stature and caliber have made their way to Miami, FL this weekend to partake of the Super Bowl XLIV activities (like the Rock ‘N Soul party at the Hard Rock DJed by Pete Wentz last night) which means that the city is teeming with famous folk. Yesterday afternoon, Rihanna — who played a Pepsi Smash concert in Miami on Thursday night — ran into La Diva Latina herself, Jenifer Lopez, by the pool at the Fontainebleau Hotel and sparked up a fast friendship:
Now I’m not sure what Ri Ri and J. Lo might have in common to talk about but I’m sure that two pop divas might have a few things to chat about. Mebbe Rihanna asked J. Lo what it was like to be a huge megastar and J. Lo seethed with jealousy over the loss of her glory days. The Fontainebleau isn’t a new hotel but it already has a reputation for attracting a very famous clientele, which means that famous folks like this are always running into one another. I wonder who else might be running into one another by the pool this weekend. HMMM.

That said…while J.lo’s career may never be what it was in her 99-03 heyday, she’s still Jennifer Lopez (i.e. one of the most famous women in entertainment)
JLO is a nobody in the music industry now and disliked by many so she needs her picture taken with Rihanna so she can still feel relevant. She’s really desperate to get the level of fame she had before and those kids she had cannot even fill that void.

@Here I go Again. Agreed, and they just happened to be at the same hotel. Look at the picture on the left at the top. JLO looks pissed off having to bow down to Rihanna and get photographed with her to make it look like she’s friends with Rihanna the superstar. Lol!
I think you guys are reading waaayy too much into this little JLo-Rihanna rendevous. Honestly. I think what Trent said about JLo seething with jealousy was meant to be taken a little more tounge-in-cheek, but you guys see a little too serious to me!
JLo might be experiencing some growing pains due to her transition from being the hot young thing, to the mature woman that she`s become, but I hardly think she actually feels jealous of Rihanna! They`re in two completely different places in their lives. JLo`s already lived her version of what Rihanna`s been experiencing, and I doubt she wishes to go back and relive it. It`s like how you feel when you turn 30 – you know you`re getting older but it feels good and there`s no way you`d want to go back to your early twenties or to (god forbid) being a teenager! Been there, done that.
Rihanna probably looks up to JLo.
@Susie. JLo isn’t just the typical 40 year old that has matured and in a different place in life. If she were her priority would be her children first, not putting out a new album knowing she’s still lipsyncing. A mature woman would take vocal lessons, not singing youngish lyrics, and hopping around on stage lipsyncing in a bodysuit trying to compete with the 20 year olds. That’s how bad she wants to be a popstar again. Lypsync, shake her body like back in her popular days and that should suffice.
I doubt if Rihanna looks up to her. A lot of JLo’s success was attained by sleeping with different men, cheating on her spouses, even committing adultrey with Marc Anthony while he was still married with two babies so she could win back the Latino’s, who she dissed when she was dating Ben Affleck. Rihanna has had only one boyfriend. She’s not breaking up homes or committing adultrey like JLO has done. Rihanna also doesn’t lipsync at every performance. There is no reason for Rihanna to look up to JLO. I’m sure she wouldn’t want her fame attained that way.
