First Look: Eliza Dushku In ‘Open Graves’
Now that Dollhouse is already gettin’ cold in the grave, it’s time to look forward to the next project to feature Eliza Dushku … according to Dushku herself, she’s already filmed a horror film called Open Graves. The only problem is, no one is entirely sure when or even if the movie will ever see the light of day. Here is our first look at promo pics of Eliza in Open Graves along with what little info about the film we have to go on:

Eliza Dushku told SCI FI Wire that she thinks her next film is a supernatural horror outing called Open Graves. Why “thinks” rather than “knows”? Well, Open Graves is listed on IMDB as having been completed, but the star of Fox’s Dollhouse has no idea what’s happening with the long-finished project. “I don’t know,” Dushku said in an interview to promote Dollhouse. “I did a film in Spain, but I don’t where or how or when it’ll be released. It was a horror movie” … Dushku said that the film was directed by Alvaro de Arminan, one of Pedro Almodovar’s proteges, making his feature-helming debut. “He sent me this script,” she said. “This other actor [Mike Vogel of Cloverfield] that I was collaborating with, we shipped off to Spain to shoot a movie about these American students that are living [and surfing] in Spain, and they come upon this creepy game [which resembles a Ouija board]. And, one by one, the game starts killing these kids.” Dushku said that she is uncertain about the film’s fate. “I don’t know,” she said. “To be honest, I had just talked to the director, and he seemed like an interesting chap. And spending three months in northern Spain sounded like a nice vacation and adventure as well. But I don’t really know how it came together.” Open Graves, which was previously titled Mamba, is still without a distributor.
I’m intrigued that this film was directed by an apprentice of Almodovar but the premise sounds more like a movie that Sarah Michelle Gellar would star in … which is not a good thing. Still … I’d check out any film that stars the lovely Ms. Dushku. After the jump, check out a few more promo photos from Open Graves along with a trailer for the film …

HMMMM … I can’t tell if I’m intrigued or uninterested. The premise sounds scary but it all really comes to execution. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if this film finds a distributor that will release it to theaters … or straight to DVD. Does this movie look/sound appealing to you?

This aired on Sci Fi already… late last year, I believe.

I’ve seen it on Sci-fi. Don’t bother. Predictable and horribly acted. Not scary at all.

When is she going to realize that she needs to hang up the acting career?
February 24th, 2010 at 2:48 pm
This is one of the worst movies ever made, it leaked long ago and already aired in some markets to. Save yourself some quality time and SKIP this!

Wow that promo picture is horrible……

Dude, do some research before, this is going straight to DVD via Lionsgate and as somebody else said it already aired at some crap channel. Unfortunately Ms. Dushku can’t act.
BTW why the SMG bashing???

@didi — “BTW why the SMG bashing???” I’d hardly call my comment “bashing”. It is the complete truth that this looks like the sort of Grudge, Grudge 2, The Return, Possession crap that SMG has been known to star in.

Didi – I agree. That wasn’t even a backhanded compliment, it was like a backhanded slap to the face.
Bashing indeed.

I saw it last week on Sci-Fi!
February 24th, 2010 at 8:05 pm
and it totally was Jumanji meets run-of-the-mill B horror film… but I still watched it in its entirety.
February 24th, 2010 at 8:39 pm
It already out for rent at Blockbuster…

Well calling her movies crap is bashing…
I liked the Grudge, part 2 was really bad and all of SMGs other movies like The Return and Possession weren’t horror movies at all. It was just wrong marketing and to be honest the last thriller type movie she did was in 2006. Check out some clips from Possession to convince yourself:

Since that she shot a drama coming to cinemas within the next month and tried for a drama series which unfortunately didn’t get picked up.
So why the bashing, have you seen her latest Possession (2006!!!) to judge that the movie is crap???

@didi — Scooby Doo.

Seriously, we all know Trent love him some SMG so chill out! She was WONDERFUL as Buffy but some of her movies are definitely lacking in quality. I saw this on TV as well, it was lame and the end totally sucked. Horrible CGI… just HORRIBLE.
