All week long we’ve been treated to some very entertaining photos from the new Calvin Klein Underwear ad campaign featuring Kellan Lutz, Mechad Brooks, Fernando Verdasco and Hidetoshi Nakata and just today, we saw a few HOT behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot. But I’ve since come across a behind-the-scenes video of Kellan Lutz on the CK Underwear photoshoot set and, let me tell you, it is HOT HOT HOT:

Earlier this week we learned that the classic 1985 charity anthem We Are The World was re-recorded by a new group of performers in order to be released to help raise funds for Haitian relief. But did you know that the track was not only re-recorded but it has been upgraded to include a new rap vocal that has been added to the song? I sure didn’t … and I don’t know how I feel about it:

A number of Hip-Hop artists have laid their vocal for “We Are the World” remake during the February 2 recording session. And, one of the rappers involved, Nipsey Hussle, recently broke down the rapping part of the song. ” … as far as the rapping, LL [Cool J] did the original lead vocal for the rap,” he told XXLmag. “Everybody rapped the same verse, we stacked our vocals and then after, LL, will.i.am went it, then Jamie Foxx, Snoop [Dogg], myself.” “And what it was, after we laid our vocals in the studio, we all got together to record the visual, and that’s when everybody had their individual mic and we rapped it at the same time. As far as the recording, everybody did it individually and for the video part of it, everybody had their own mic and it was kind of like a choir type situation.” On what the verses are dealing with, he explained, ” … It was a 12-bar verse. I think LL wrote it and it was just talking about the disaster, similar to how everybody need to come together, it was you know uplifting lyrics. It wasn’t nothing corny, it was something that people would be able to relate to but still universal.” Before spilling the bean on the rapping part, Nipsey revealed about the singing part. “Everyone was doing individual tracks on top of the group tracks. Like, Justin Bieber would do his, the girl [Nicole Scherzinger] from The Pussycat Dolls would do hers, Busta [Rhymes] did his and they would just stack it on top of each other like how you do a hook,” he said. “We Are the World” is produced by Quincy Jones, RedOne and Lionel Richie. The opening line, which was originally sung by Lionel, reportedly is provided by Justin. Meanwhile, the Bob Dylan’s part is performed by Lil Wayne and the Michael Jackson’s verses are re-recorded with Janet Jackson’s vocal. The track is expected to end with a poem read by Michael’s kids. Its music video is filmed in 3-D and will be premiered during NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics Friday, February 12.

HMMMMMMMM … I mean, yeah. I’m all for upgrades and changes for the song but … I’m not sure how I feel about this rap vocal addition. It could be cool, yes, but it could also be a terrible mistake. Hottie McHotness Paul Walker is featured on the cover and in the pages of Men’s Health magazine. This particular issue of Men’s Health is devoted to Style and, apparently, Walker is a stylish enough guy for the mag. Here is his coverphoto and some excerpts from his coverstory interview:

On being a gearhead: “The more you’re under fire, the cooler you are,” Walker says of surfing. “Fifteen feet is now where I draw the line. But 15 feet is big — you’re on the edge, and the water is only 6 or 7 feet deep until it’s jagged coral. It’s inevitable: I always get cut, on my feet, on my arms, and on my hands. It’s like hitting concrete. And that means you have to be on your game. If you hesitate, you go down hard.” The same principle guides Walker when he’s out of the water: Be aggressive, or stay home.

On being a humanitarian: “For Walker, that step up is REACT (Rapid Emergency Assistance Care Team), a group of EMTs and health-care professionals that he helped found. The group’s goal is to air-drop into disaster zones the minute the news hits the wires — ahead of the larger, less mobile emergency teams.”
“I’m a doer, and whether it was the tsunami in Sri Lanka or the earthquake in Indonesia, I was always saying, ‘I should be there; I should be helping out,’” Walker recalls. So he connected the dots. “My mother’s a nurse, my sister’s going to nursing school right now, and my friends have construction backgrounds. God willing, the next time there’s a natural disaster I’m going to be there with 11 or 14 people and a handful of doctors,” he says. “And the next time, it’ll be 150 people with 30 to 35 doctors.”

NB: Paul recently went to Haiti with his team to help setting tents, provide food and medical care for the victims of the earthquake, he also donated money.

On living in the Jungle, near terrorists: “ONE MAN’S DUMP IS ANOTHER’S PARADISE. So it is with Paul Walker’s vacation home: a construction site in Indonesia clogged by jungle brush. The neighbors are terrorists and the place is accessible only via clandestine transport by local villagers. Call it a fixer-upper. “It’s been a lot of work,” says Walker, 36, of his latest project. “I came here thinking it would be my own secret island — heaven on earth. But there wasn’t even access from the road; I literally had to bulldoze one. But it’s worth it. This place is one of the most beautiful on earth, if not the most beautiful — especially for the price.” “It’s warm here, but it just pisses rain nonstop — lightning storm after lightning storm,” he says. “And working in the rain, I have to tell you, is not easy. I don’t have electricity. I use candlelight. I cook over an open fire, the traditional way. I harvest my rice, dry it out, beat it, and cook it up. I dive for lobster and octopus. If I did that year round, the novelty would wear off, but to come here for a couple, 3 weeks at a time, it’s perfect.”

Sigh … this man is very nice to look at … I rarely pay any attention to what he says but I am very impressed that he made his way to Haiti to help with the earthquakes victims there. Last month we saw a few cute photos of Orlando Bloom hangin’ out with girlfriend Miranda Kerr‘s pet pooch but today we get to see him in action on the SoCal set of his new film The Good Doctor. Clearly, Bloomie will do anything to get the shoot needed by his director … even if that means plunging headlong into the sea … clothes and all:

Orlando Bloom spent years sailing the seven seas in the Pirates Of The Caribbean films, but his latest movie sees him dunked right in it. The star, 33, was snapped flailing around fully-clothed in the surf while filming new movie The Good Doctor on Venice beach in Los Angeles yesterday. The film, which is co-produced by Orlando, sees him play a doctor who falls in love with a patient to the extent that he keeps making her sick rather than cure her to keep her in hospital. The movie just started shooting this week, so a release date has yet to be confirmed. His next outing on the big screen though will be in Sympathy For Delicious, in which he co-stars with Juliette Lewis and Mark Ruffalo, about a paralysed DJ “who gets more than he bargained for when he investigates the world of faith healing.” It goes it’s premiere at last month’s Sundance Festival and is sue to hit screens later this year.

Ew … what a creepy premise for a movie! I mean, I’m sure Hollywood will make it all romantic and stuff but a doctor who falls in love with his patent to the extent that he “keeps making her sick” just to hang on to her is … disturbed. I’m thinking Orlando Bloom and his hotness will distract folks from realizing what a creepy movie premise this is. I’m thinkin’ if producers really want to distract the audience, they should make Orlando take the ocean plunge wearing a lot less clothing.

Star magazine is reporting that Jamie Lynn Spears and her teenage babydaddy Casey Aldridge have broken up … and even more salacious that that, the mag claims that JL has already moved on with a much older man named James Watson. Say it ain’t so! Could Casey-Lynn really be dunzo?!

Jamie Lynn Spears has dropped her baby daddy — and is dating an older man. In the Feb. 15 issue of Star, on sale now, we report that the 18-year-old has moved on from Casey Aldridge — the father of her 19-month-old daughter, Maddie — and is dating 28-year-old James Watson, a well-to-do businessman, whom she met about a year ago. “They started dating last December,” a source tells Star. “I don’t think James cares at all about who she is; they really seem to like each other.” So who is Britney’s sister’s new man? James — who’s based in Hammond, La., about 35 miles south of the Spears family estate in Kentwood — owns a company called Advanced Multimedia Partners. “He installs communications equipment and high-definition TVs for large corporations,” the source says. “James enjoys making money — and enjoys spending it too.” Locals are hardly surprised that Jamie Lynn’s been stepping out with a new man — while Casey, 20, has been spending most of his time in his family hometown of Liberty, Miss. “Even when she was pregnant, she didn’t really see a future with him,” a friend tells Star. “She only gave the impression of staying with him so long because it looked better in the eyes of the public.”

Say, what?! If this is really true, that Jamie Lynn has hooked up with a grown man who makes money, then I say HALLELUJAH! I’m sure Casey is a nice kid but having babies out of wedlock while still in your teens doesn’t usually a fairytale make. You may recall that we heard of JL steppin’ out in public while wearing a wig disguise, mebbe she was trying to creep around with her new man and keep the news underwraps. I’m not sure I totally believe this news just yet … but it’s a hopeful sign that Jamie Lynn Spears is finally acting like an adult.

As you may recall, I passed along last month the news that my fave contemporary author Neil Gaiman would be appearing at UCLA for a UCLA Live event in February and last night was the night. I was lucky enough to attend Gaiman‘s reading last night and had an absolutely amazing time:

Charming as ever, Neil delighted the sold out Royce Hall last night … telling stories and reading from his amazing body of work. He read a chapter from his last book The Graveyard Book and also read a chapter from his current book Odd and the Frost Giants. The highlight for me, tho, was a poem he read titled Instructions that will be included in a new book that is due out later this year. It is an absolute pleasure hearing this man read his work aloud … I hope Gaiman will be coming to your city in the near future because, I’m telling you, he is utterly fantastic.

His reading last night reminded me that I had yet to read his latest release Odd and the Frost Giants, much to my chagrin:

So I managed to read it in full last night. It’s a fantastic read … about a crippled boy who helps the Norse gods save the city of Asgard from the Frost Giants. It’s a short book, a quick read and utterly charming through and through. Neil Gaiman is such a talent, we are very lucky to have his stories.

Also last night, David’s oldest sister Lara arrived for the weekend … his brother Aram arrives this evening … and then the weekend officially gets underway. Rain or shine, this weekend is gonna rock. Have a good one, y’all!!

True Blood protagonist Anna Paquin is featured in the new British issue of Marie Claire magazine, the same issue that features Nicole Richie on the cover, and in her interview Anna opens up about working with and falling in love with her TB co-star Stephen Moyer. According to Anna, she and Stephen easily fell in love, enjoy a pretty mundane life together and are very happily looking forward to gettin’ hitched:

She has been in the Hollywood spotlight since she won an Oscar at the tender age of 11. But somehow, Anna Paquin has remained something of an enigma – especially where her private life is concerned. But after falling in love with co-star Stephen Moyer, 40, on the set of True Blood, the 27-year-old actress has opened up about their relationship. The couple, who met while filming the HBO show, have announced they plan to marry. They share an intense on-screen chemistry, playing telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse and her 172-year-old vampire love interest, Bill Compton. But Anna says the development of their off-screen relationship caught everyone by surprise. ‘Put it this way, I don’t think anyone knew before we did,’ she told Marie Claire magazine. ‘Clearly there was a reason we were cast in that particular combination but… it’s not like either of us were looking for love or anything trite like that. It wasn’t something we saw happening.’ The actress says the couple are united by their passion for acting. ‘We’re pretty mundane. We walk our dogs, rehearse lines. But our shared passion for our jobs is a really exciting thing. It’s nice to hear that Anna and Stephen are so down-to-Earth and, well, boring. David and I are terribly boring … and that may just be the kind of happy life together that will stand the test of time. Last Sunday, Julie Benz made her debut on the ABC drama Desperate Housewives as Robin — a “stripper with a heart of gold” — but it was also revealed of her character that she is also a lesbian. In a new interview with the blog After Ellen, Benz talks about her sexy new role on DH and what her arrival on the show means for Dana Delany‘s character … as they spark up a new same-sex romance. Here are excerpts from Julie‘s After Ellen interview:

Julie Benz has an eclectic resume, but most AfterEllen.com readers know her as Darla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel or, most recently, as Rita on Dexter. Her latest role, as of last week’s episode of Desperate Housewives is as a stripper named Robin who befriends Susan (Teri Hatcher) before quitting her job and moving in with her. We found out this week that Benz’s character is a lesbian who will fall for Katherine Mayfair (played by Dana Delaney). As of now, Benz isn’t sure how much longer Robin will be around Wisteria Lane, but she’s hoping it’ll be for more than just one kiss.

AfterEllen.com: How did you get the gig on Desperate Housewives? Have you always liked the show?
Julie Benz: I’ve always been a huge fan of the show — I’ve seen every episode. Pretty much the way this went down was, literally the day after the Dexter season finale aired, I got a phone call asking if this was something I’d be interested in doing, and I was like “Sure! Of course!” And it was funny because my manager was like, “You’re going to be playing a stripper.” And I said, “OK!” And he said, “And you’ll be a lesbian.” “OK!” He was like “OK!” To me, it’s like, how different from Rita on Dexter! And what a fun way to come on to a show. I think people were expecting my character to break up somebody’s marriage, and here I’ll have this great romance with one of the women on the show. That interested me as well.

AE: So is Robin a lesbian? Is that how she would identify herself?
JB: Yes.

AE: What about Katherine? Is that going to be something difficult for her as a straight woman to think of herself as bisexual? Is she confused?
JB: I don’t know a whole lot about the storyline, but from what I do know, it is going to be a part of Katherine’s journey to figure out. “What is this?” Katherine has had quite a history of dating men that haven’t turned out to be very good for her. I think the question you have to ask yourself in real life is, if you connect with somebody, why let gender, religion or race get in the way. I think that’s the struggle, the challenge that she has.

AE: How do you feel about playing a lesbian? You haven’t played one before, have you?
JB: No, I haven’t. You know, I would say Darla on Angel was pretty much asexual. I didn’t have any love scenes or anything but there was some insinuations of stuff between Darla and Willow.

AE: I’m sure some Angel fans could definitely read into the subtext.
JB: For me, it’s an interesting character. Robin is just a really wonderful spirit. It just so happens she’s a lesbian. She’s a really wonderful spirit. She’s got a good soul and a good heart and that’s what they said to me about the character. And she’s not going to come in and wreck someone’s marriage on the show. It’s been done before.

AE: Desperate Housewives has previously had a lesbian kiss and people thought it was a ratings stunt. Do you think this will be different because there will be a relationship developing out of it?
JB: Yeah it is different because there is a relationship developing out of it.

AE: Well that’s good to hear, especially for you because you don’t know how long you’ll be on the show for.
JB: Yeah, I don’t know. I hope it lasts forever! It’s a great place to go to work. I’ve admired the work on the show for so long. I’m a huge fan and it’s been great. I love the actresses and they’re ones who’ve inspired me in my own work. To be able to go to work everyday and work with these women, it’s amazing. I would love it to last forever. I think it’s a great story, too. Katherine’s journey is very interesting and it’s current in what we’ve seen with recent years with older women discovering that they’re gay later in life. Like with Meredith Baxter recently — coming out publicly. It’s a very current topic. It’s an interesting thing to explore.

Man, I think I need to start watching Desperate Housewives. I love that Julie is so gung-ho about this role. I’m so happy she mentioned her work on Angel because I think she played the character of Darla very well, very omnisexual. It wasn’t so much that Darla didn’t have a single sexual side, it’s that she had many sexual sides. I sincerely hope that Julie‘s stint on DH turns out to be something more substantial and not gimmicky. She is an amazing actress … I love to see her bring some that Sapphic sexiness to Wisteria Lane in a real way.

Super Bowl XLIV is just 2 days away but the party has already gotten started in Miami, FL this week. Rihanna performed a special pre-Super Bowl concert, sponsored by Pepsi, for throngs of eager fans. As you can see from the photos below, Ri Ri busted out one of her more interesting outfits for the occasion:

She’s become famous for her eccentric stage fashion, and last night Rihanna didn’t disappoint as she took to the stage in in Miami, Florida. The pop star paraded around on stage at the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam in a peculiar one-shoulder, one-leg catsuit that featured white trimming. Her black strapless bra was on show, and she completed the look with fishnet tights, black leather gloves and huge blonde quiff. The ensemble was created by styling duo Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi, who regularly work with Rihanna on her costumes and red carpet attire. She stormed the stage with a medley of her hits, including Wait Your Turn, Disturbia and Russian Roulette. The Barbadian star is one of a host of celebs who singed up for the concerts, including Timberland, who joined her onstage during the set. A second gig will be held on today, featuring the likes of Nelly Furtado, Paulina Rubio and Pitbull. The two day event comes ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIV, where the Indianapolis Colts will take on the New Orleans Saints.
