Neil Patrick Harris To Guest Star On ‘Glee’
Will feature in an upcoming ep helmed by, get this, Joss Whedon!!!

Great news … the awesome show Glee is about to get a whole lot awesomer. In addition to reports that Jennifer Lopez will be appearing on the show up in an upcoming new ep, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Neil Patrick Harris (currently on CBS‘s How I Met Your Mother) is this close to appearing on an upcoming ep of Glee. And, get this, the ep in question will be helmed by the amazingly amazing Joss Whedon. Okay, you can pick up your jaw off the floor:

Neil Patrick Harris is nearing a deal to appear in the May sweeps Glee episode that’s being helmed by his Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog director, Joss Whedon. In retrospect, maybe I should’ve called this particular scoop “ginormous.” I think it’s warranted, don’t you? Anyway, Harris wants to do it, and Glee creator Ryan Murphy sure as hell wants him to — he’s creating a role especially for the How I Met Your Mother scene-stealer. And yes, the part includes a little song-’n’-dance. In fact, the gig not only would reunite Harris with Whedon, it’d also reteam him with Zachary Woodlee, who choreographed the musical number in HIMYM’s recent 100th episode. The one possible snag — and there’s always one, isn’t there? CBS has to OK its MVP’s appearance on Fox’s breakout hit. But at least since HIMYM and Glee are both produced by 20th Century Fox, there’s no conflict on their end.

This.Would.Rule.All! If CBS does not let NPH appear on the show, I’ll eat my hat. It would be a crime to keep this joyous union occur. HELLO, Joss Whedon + Neil Patrick Harris + Glee … are you kidding me? Glee is so popular it can pretty much do whatever the hell it wants to … as is obvious by this planned ep. I can’t even begin to imagine what other amazing things the show might have up its sleeve if all of this pans out. I’m a Glee fan but this NPH/Whedon ep just might make me a Gleek for life! Um, who’s excited?

    ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!

The ONLY way this could possible get any better would be if they somehow got the execs horribly drunk and got them to agree to letting him appear as Barney Stinson simply cause I’d love to see him go toe to toe with Sue Sylvester. Too bad it’d never happen. But I’d still love to see some great interaction between her and whatever character they create for him!!!
