‘Mysteries’ By Night
The TV Guide

Since I enjoyed reading Michael Chabon‘s book The Adventures of Kavalier & Clay for the Turtle Party: Book Club, I have been anxious to find another Chabon book to sink my teeth into next. I’ve been reading a few books at the same time, including a fascinating book on Ásatrú btw, but last night (on the suggestion of a few Pink readers) I started reading Chabon‘s Mysteries of Pittsburgh:

To be honest, I haven’t gotten to far into the book but it has the same wonderful prose that Chabon is famous for so I’m excited to dive in.

David, Isaac and I went out for sushi dinner at Fat Fish last night but kept it a relatively quiet and early night. I’ve been on a reading terror lately so it was fine with me. I cannot believe the first week of 2010 is already over and we are at the weekend again … where does the time go?

‘? Of the Burgh’ is one of my fave Chabon novels – and I have read quite a few… but I have had the netflix sitting on my coffee table for a month – why can’t I bring myself to watch it already?

‘The Yiddish Policemen’s Union’ is my fave of his, and I’m interested in his newest book, a collection of essays on fathers and sons.

Read this many years ago, and I remember it fondly. Couldn’t tell you all the details, just know it was a great read.

Chabon is really awesome. Wonderboys is a great book, too, (as is the movie) but I really love Werewolves in their Youth. It’s one of my favorite short story collections and you should definitely check it out.

Just watched the movie last night. It was alright. Maybe I should read the book since the books are always much better than the movies.

The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay is my number 1 favorite book of all time. Seriously.

I love Mysteries of Pittsburgh and YiddishPolicemen’s Union. I can’t wait to read his newest book as soon as it is in paperback.
