Michael Jackson’s Death Certificate Lists ‘Homicide’ As Cause Of Death
"Intravenous Injection by Another", presumably Dr. Conrad Murray

Reports have been flying around all weekend long that suggest that Dr. Conrad Murray, the personal physician who was present when Michael Jackson died last June, will be charged with his death in the wake of the release of MJ‘s amended Death Certificate. The new document lists homicide by way of intravenous injection by another as the cause of death. Considering Dr. Murray was the one injecting the dangerous drug Propofol into MJ to put him to sleep, I’d say those reports might be pretty right on:

The late pop legend – who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 – was last seen alive by his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, who is now likely to be criminally charged with Michael’s death in the next couple of weeks. Detectives working on Michael’s death completed their investigation last month and the case will now be formally presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney. A source told gossip website TMZ the investigation was “exhaustive” and “extremely thorough” and there was enough evidence for a criminal case against Dr. Murray. The case is particularly complicated because the doctor did not break any laws by administering Propofol to the ‘Thriller’ singer but he could be charged with involuntary manslaughter, relating to gross negligence. Dr. Murray – who did not have any criminal charges brought against him immediately after Jackson’s passing – has since returned to the Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston, Texas, where he has been treating patients.

Yeah, it should come as no surprise that Dr. Murray is the one who’s gonna take the heat on this one and I cannot imagine that, if charged, he will evade punishment in some form. Still, technically, he could prove that he did nothing wrong criminally and could get off with a slap on the wrist or even scott free. It’s only a matter of time before we hear that he has been formally charged … and then the circus of his trial will get underway. It shant be long now.

Don’t get me wrong, I am very sorry that he passed.

Bu isn’t MJ responsible for this too? Wasn’t he the one with the drug problem?

Doesn’t anyone take responsibility for their actions anymore or is it ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE’S FAULT?

I don’t think that the legal system should just set out to find someone to “punish” when something bad goes wrong…it should set out to find the truth, and if punishment is warranted, than so be it. I do think that Dr. Murray deserves punishment because what he did was in very poor judgement and he enabled Michael’s death. However, I do also agree that ultimately it was Michael’s own fault that he died. If he had listened to the many other medical professionals that told him not to use those drugs in a casual way, he would be alive today. He could only get a hack doctor like Murray to help him, because only someone so negligent would give in to Michael’s wishes. Michael was looking for a bad doctor.

It just pisses me off that A) Michael had this horrible addiction that led to his demise and B) That this stupid doctor was irresponsible and greedy enough to do whatever Michael wanted..We didn’t have to lose him and he could have gone on to kick so much ass in London..Addiction in general pisses me off..We’ve lost so many talented, and even not so talented but just great, people thanks to addiction..I know it’s a stupid thing to be angry about, but..BAH! So many unnecessary deaths..

@Lark, that’s like saying drug dealers shouldn’t be arrested because its not their fault the addicts buy from them.

    Sad so very very sad.

  6. Trent – he cannot prove tat criminally he did nothing wrong because propofol is intended to be used in hospitals for surgeries etc ONLY. You’re not allowed to give it to somebody privately.

Dr. Murrary is a criminal, just like the drug dealer is a criminal for selling drugs. However, one would never accuse the drug dealer of murder is one of his customers overdosed because of what he sold him…

No surprise…. It will be interesting what the charges will be…

On a completely unrelated note – spiderman 4 has been canned!!! http://www.imdb.com/news/ni1399369/

  9. Not surprising. Glad there is progress in the case.

Either way this guy’s life and career are most likely over…in addition to all the death threats that will be most likely be coming his way (and probably to his family too) once he is formally charged and a trial starts…its all sad. I honestly don’t think the doctor is entirely to blame. If it weren’t him it would have been some other doctor that MJ woudl have got to administer the drugs…it was just a matter of time before his life ended because of his addiction. Very sad.
