One day after Lindsay Lohan shared her positive (if embarrassingly misspelled) New Year’s Resolution message with her faithful followers on Twitter, L. Lo deboarded her luxury yacht (where she’s been celebrating 2010 for the past few days) with little sister Aliana in tow to do a bit of shopping on the isle of St. Bart’s … but the poor dear forgot to wear clothing for the occasion:

It’s all well and good strutting around the beach showing off your trim figure in a skimpy bikini. But Lindsay Lohan could have chosen more suitable attire than a barely-there two piece for a bit of late night shopping. The Mean Girls star is currently holidaying on the Caribbean island of St Barts where she has spent the last few days hanging out with friends and seeing in the New Year. Yesterday she and her sister Ali spent the day aboard a yacht and sailed to the island’s main town of Gustavia where they hung out for the day, soaking up the sun. Lohan started the day dressed in a long black vest over her swimsuit, which looked chic and stylish when topped off with a cream trilby and very high black wedged shoes. But as the day progressed, Lohan, 23, ditched the cover-up and decided to spend the rest of the evening strutting around in her sexy two-piece instead. And while her younger sister modesty covered her bottom half with a floral skirt, Lindsay had absolutely no qualms about showing off as much of her slender figure as possible. The actress shopped for trinkets and souvenirs after spending the entire day in the town with her sibling and a small group of friends. She had visited the town’s Louis Vuitton store earlier in the day where she tried on shoes and a swimsuit very similar to the one she was already wearing. And while she was in the dressing room, Lindsay also bumped into Star Wars director George Lucas who was also shopping in the store.

I suppose you gotta appreciate the girl’s gumption. It’s prolly not that uncommon to see women in and out of shops on St. Bart’s wearing bikinis but, I dunno, a little modesty goes a long way. Still, Lindsay claims to have a more positive attitude about the coming year so let’s just give her the benefit of the doubt and not worry so much about this particular skimpy outing. It looks like she is having nice, safe fun. It might behoove her to cover up her bum a bit more when she goes out and about but, hey, she’s on holiday! It’s all good, right?
