Last night was an amazingly fun night … David, Isaac and I met up with our friends Christopher, Josh, Emma and her BFF Melanie for a delicious dinner at Stefan’s at LA Farm in Santa Monica, CA. Much to my surprise and glee, it turns out that Stefan is THE Stefan from Top Chef: New York. The food was really fantastic but Stefan, bless him, spent all of his time schmoozing with the guests in the dining room rather than in the kitchen. He greeted us when we arrived, came to check on us during dinner and shook each of our hands as we left. Amazing. I can absolutely recommend that any of y’all check it out … great, great food. After dinner, it was time for the main event. We made our way to the Copro Gallery at Bergamot Station for the Instant Gratification: los angeles Polaroid exhibit last night:

On display was over 200 Polaroid photos taken by professional and amateur photographers using the Polaroid 600 film (my film of choice). As you might imagine of a one night only show, there were a lot of people there and we nearly didn’t make it in … but we soldiered on and made our way in to see the exhibit. After the jump, check out some of the photos I snapped of the show itself …

Lawdy was it hot in that gallery but it was well worth the wait and the heat. The photos were really fantastic and it was really amazing to see so many people excited about Polaroid photography again. I got to meet Pink reader, Twitter friend and Polaroid photographer Jessica at the show last night. I snapped a few Polaroids of the Polaroids and asked Jessica to snap a pic of me in my Polaroid shirt with my Polaroid in front of some of the Polaroids:

Yeah, it was a Polaroid LURVEFEST! It’s a shame that the show was one night only but — like Polaroid photos themselves — it was special and unique.
My arty weekend continues this afternoon as I plan to make my way to Gallery 1988 in West Hollywood, CA to see an exhibit called Under the Influence: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe:

Click HERE to see many of the pieces on display … they look AMAZINGLY cool. I am really interested in buying a piece or two so I want to head down to the gallery and stake my claim while I can.
The weather is so insanely beautiful … warm, breezy and 70. I’m in heaven! Hope your weekend is just as fun even if it’s not just as warm ;)

Question: Where can you get polaroid cameras and film?? I’ve looked lots of places, but it seems impossible!
@Jules — You can still get film at polapremium.com or from merchants on Amazon (eBay, too)
wow, that looks like great fun. all the polaroids in one place…
I love-love the shirt!
& the pic of you and your camera is so cool, surrealist art-like even!
I went to this show last night, too! Soooo hot & crowded. It’s a shame that it was one night only.
I’m so jealous! this sounds like a really cool show…but what original drew me to this post was the picture. Your shirt itself is pretty awesome, but the combination shirt/polaroid is even awesomer! Sounds like you have a great night!
Oohh..Can’t wait to see what you picked up at the He-Man exhibit! Some of the pieces are so cool!
@Kendra — I’ll post pics of my new acquisitions tomorrow :)
where can you still get polaroid 600 films? didnt they stop production for those? :(
@jane — Yes, they stopped making it but many places still sell oldish stock (that still works). Polapremium.com is a good place to look, they will be producing new film in 2010 so be on the lookout for that too.
