Earlier this month we learned that former Buffyverse actress Julie Benz would be joining the cast of Desperate Housewives on ABC in the wake of the SHOCKING events that took place on the season 4 finale of Dexter last month. Today we get our FIRST LOOK at Benz in her new Desperate role. As you may recall when we learned of her new role on DH, we were told that Julie Benz will play a “stripper with a heart of gold” on the show … which, apparently, looks like this:
She’s Alive! On January 31st, actress Julie Benz follows up her untimely DEXTER demise with the first of what Michael Ausiello calls a handful of episodes on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES when Susan befriends a stripper (played by Julie Benz) and takes her under her wing.
Julie Benz looks fantastic in everything she does, I have no doubt that she will kick ass in this new role on Desperate Housewives. After the jump, check out a few more photos of Benz on DH …
Aww, I love it. Not only does Julie‘s stripper character have a heart of gold but she’s also a big reader … you gotta love that! As you may recall, I was able to talk with Julie about the events that went down in the season 4 finale of Dexter a few weeks ago and she told me that she is hoping to find a great role on a comedy … considering that she will only be appearing in a “handful” of eps on DH, that is still very much a possibility. Wherever she ends up, I will follow faithfully. What do y’all think of Julie‘s new look on Desperate Housewives?

I was wondering how they were going to work a stripper in to the show..Now that we know that Susan is part owner of a strip club now that her ex is dead, it’s all starting to fall in place! I can’t wait to see her storyline! A stripper with a heart of gold sounds so cheesy..Then again, we ARE talking about Desperate Housewives..The show where a guy was killed by a plane that crashed on their street.. ;)

Wow! She looks so different with all of that makeup on. I got so used to her appearance on Dexter. She looks like a completely new person.
I in no way blame any blogger b/c the show ended quite a while ago, but I wish I didn’t know what happened at the end of this season of Dexter :(. Like if I could have just gone “la la la la” until they stopped discussing! Sucks when shows that you watch on DVD after they aire that are spoiled for you, but not much you can do when you see them 6 months after everyone else. Oh well, I will def. still watch it.

@jessi — It’s not a spoiler once a show airs. Spoilers are things that will happen on shows that have yet to air. Dexter season 4 ended a month ago, it’s old news.

i absolutelyyyy LOVE her in anything and everything. if she can be nice as Connor’s Mom and scary as a vamp, she can most definitely be a stripper with a heart of gold :D
