When last we heard from Tiger Woods, it was reported that he had slinked off to hide get help at a rehab center in Arizona just one day before AT&T announced that they were dropping their sponsorship of his professional golf career. Now we learn that while Tiger stays out of sight (wherever he is), his estranged wife Elin Nordegren has reportedly popped up in a French resort area with her twin sister Josefin, seemingly without a care in the world. Elin‘s been skiing her troubles away, y’all:

While the embattled Tiger Woods seems to have vanished, reports have surfaced that place his wife, Elin Nordegren, in a posh French Alps ski resort as she considers her future. While saying that Nordgren, 30, has put thousands of miles between herself and her scandal-ridden husband, 34, the U.K. tabloid the Sun reports that Nordegren has been staying in an $8,000-a-night, seven-room chalet outside the resort town of Chamonix since last Sunday. Sources tell PEOPLE that Nordegren and her twin sister Josefin, along with several close friends, have been skiing in Les Houches, an exclusive ski area adjacent to the Chamonix valley under the watchful paid eye of a private five-man French security force. Though the chalet includes a full staff as well as its own chef, Nordegren and her sister have been out to a local restaurant, hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration which at midnight became the twins’ 30th birthday party, according to one restaurant staffer. In its report, the Sun quotes a “family friend” as saying that Nordegren wished to escape “from the minefield Tiger has created by his behavior” and that Elin told her husband “she needed a lengthy time apart to reflect on how they might possibly salvage the marriage.”

I, personally, think it would be idiotic for Elin to try and salvage this marriage. Cheating is cheating and that alone is practically unforgivable. But I suppose concessions could be made if there was just one indiscretion to deal with … Tiger Wood‘s cavalcade of mistresses all around the country seems proof positive that he never respected his marriage or the vows he made to his wife and his rampant illicit behavior has, very literally, put her health in danger. Even if Tiger used “protection” every single time he allegedly cheated, there is not 100% guaranteed way to stay completely safe. Who knows what Tiger Woods brought home to his wife after all of his philandering (and we know he philandered outside of his marriage bed, he confessed as much in his own words). Ultimately the choice is hers alone. If she honestly believes he can change his ways, then I suppose it might be worth sticking it out. I can’t see how that is even possible but, then again, it’s not a situation that I can identify with at all. I wish her the best of luck tho … she’s in a tough predicament with a lot at stake, most importantly her family life. I hope she truly is able to ski her problems away.
